Bleh. I'll just install FF then.  A ZSnes problem arises... I managed to fix that controller lag problem (just don't use the profiler program), but now the entire program is lagging. Sometimes the entire game runs slow, other times the music is slow and stutters while the actual game is too fast.  I tried setting it to high priority but it just sets itself back to normal. (There really oughta be an option to disallow certain programs from changing their priority.  ) If I use the 'High Priority Mode' option, it sets itself to the lowest priority instead! | *installs Firefox* Damn, I shoulda done this a long time ago. This looks nice... Like a whole new browser, but everything I liked about Mozilla is still there. (Makes me wonder if the last version I tried even was Firefox... It was nowhere near as good as this.) The ability to install an extension just by clicking it, combined with the security of having to add the site to a white list first and some warnings here and there, is fricken awesome. Anyway, I figured I'd go look at some extensions, and this one caught my eye, but when I try to install it it says it's not a valid XPI package. (Note the 'os=windows' in the URL; it used to be 'os=linux', but apparently that wasn't the problem.  ) This happens with a few others as well, some of which truncate the URL to 'https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/undefined'. (This happens with every extension under Download Tools, and several others. Very annoying to say the least. )[edit] Oh, and no, this isn't the only reason I installed it. It helped though. | I can't see any reason I won't still be here in 2020, except for 5 possibilities: -The board's gone (God forbid). -I stayed up too late being stupid and got myself banned. (I tend to get stupid and spammy when I'm sleepy. )-I'm employed at a certain corporation who would be very unhappy to discover that one of its employees is a member of this board.  -Someone killed me, or possibly I just up and died, and heaven/hell/wherever I end up doesn't have a good connection (or such place doesn't exist and I'm simply rotting). -The Internet and/or world no longer exists. | Up to 15GB so far. Not a whole lot, but for someone who just upgraded from that being their entire HD capacity a few months ago, it's pretty damn nice. Doesn't appear to be any sort of virus in here. I still don't get how I could have uploaded 80GB though. 50, maybe... |

| Well, good. If your mom buys one now, you're sure to know of any price drops in the future. My mom got me a DS for Christmas, and the other day pointed out a 2-dollar price drop since then. Mothers will tell you any time anything they buy you (and presumably themselves in a case like this) goes down in price. |

| The problem is post counts tend to be taken too seriously. If I were to do something like that, I'd have one spam forum with a separate post count, and have them displayed as "Posts: 96 (93 useful, 3 spam)" with the word 'spam' linking to the spam forum. | |||

Five thousand times, I have clicked on the "New Thread" or "New Reply" buttons, typed a post, and submitted it, on this message board. You've never made a poll? It's interesting to compare your post counts between various forums. This one's only been around (since the last database crash) a few months and I'm up to 3589. Another I've been at for over 6 years, and the database has never been wiped out, nor has my post count been edited (at least; it was restored when things did happen), and I'm only at almost 6000. | I've always thought that myself. It does the same with Proxomitron disabled... I've found that going to the 'More Info' page and clicking the Install link there works for most of them, but some still do it (though the URL doesn't say undefined). |

Thanks, that worked great.  (Except for one, which appears to have a broken link entirely...) Firefox now looks like some of the worst spyware-infested copies of IE I've seen - except everything in it is a safe and useful item I added myself. Now THAT is nice.  |

| It wouldn't be as easy as those reports make it sound to take out large parts of the Internet. However, I think some countries (such as China and Sweden, I believe) have rather few connections to the rest of the web, and thus, could potentially be knocked offline for a while if people joined together on it. Plus the Internet was smaller back then. If one route goes down today there's thousands more to take. |

| What I do now, but for money instead of just for the hell of it. (Programming, that is. ) Hopefully for some major game company *cough*nintendo*cough*, but I might just start up a little software company of my own. Or maybe computer repairs, though I'd want a little more practice. I somehow manage to cut myself every time I do it. Nothing like a customer asking why there's blood on the floppy drive... | I rarely see one without an edit feature. A lot don't let you edit thread titles, but will let you edit the post. I also like the idea of deleting threads if nobody's replied. I often find myself posting a question, then finding the answer a few minutes later. |
