Haha. Love how he throws in Japanese words without really knowing anything about their meanings or grammar. "Baka american movies". You'd have to be pretty sad to assume that herpes is some kinda cool Japanese thing though. And "SUPER MAGICAL SUGARY SAKURA DROPS ^________^" is just awesome. |
Sure, I admit I watch anim

It's all about the Cookies And Cream. Though I'd eat any of those. |

The question isn't how (after all, they had months)... The question is WHY? |

That would be frickin awesome. Though I'd need to do some serious upgrading (or make a LOT of partitions) to use it. |
I wonder how fast it is? It could potentially be used as both RAM and a hard drive at the same time. How much would that rule... For that matter, how small is it? I've heard of plenty of systems that could store 80 billion gigabytes in a cubic inch or whatever, but needed a machine like 2 cubic feet to read them. If the entire thing is actually contained in one chip... I could make a Gameboy flash cart that contains every ROM ever made and enough SRAM for millions of saves. Muahaha.

Trapster: If I know anything about Japanese, which I can just -barely- say I do, it'd be something like 'no 母'... I'd try to use actual kana, but I have no idea how to type it. (The 'mother' part I got from Babelfish I don't really know a lot of Kanji... Character Map is no help either, the Japanese character set doesn't even have Japanese letters in it. ) |
Speaking of Kanji, though... WTF is up with 'round' being a couple of squares? Originally posted by Jesper Awesome. XD

Come on, I was only over by 93GB... (Interestingly, most of it was upload. ) |
Maybe it's time to close BitTorrent for a while?

Uh lesee... There's a boomerang from when my grandma went to Australia... Some kitchen knives... A computer power supply, that's kinda heavy to hit someone in the head with... A soldering iron I could poke your eyes or burn you with... Oh and of course a psychotic cat. I used to carry an exacto knife with me for defense, thankfully I never had to use it for anything besides scaring away a few dimwits. (Which really shouldn't be illegal. ) |

You can hurt someone with just about anything, but that's usually not their intended usage. Knives are meant to cut food, not people. Baseball bats are used to play baseball. Bottles are supposed to contain liquids. What use is a gun besides shooting someone? (And don't say self defense either... That defense never gets you anywhere. )

On school days, I get up at 7, watch Ranma 1/2, muck around on the computer a bit, eat, go to school, come back, and try to fit the following in somewhere between then and 11 or so: |
-An hour or two of Slime Forest (works surprisingly well) -Inuyasha at 8:30 on Monday-Thursday and 10 on Friday -Check the board -Whatever the hell else I feel like doing, if I have time Around 11 I start getting ready for bed (which can take as much as an hour and a half ), watch Card Captor Sakura, and go to sleep for not nearly long enough. Any other day, pretty much the same, except I don't go to school (duh) and just sleep when I get tired and wake up when I can't sleep anymore.

Usually you can get rid of the ads with some simple scripting or CSS. They might close the account if they find out, but they rarely do. |

With all this crazy new technology, you'd think they could improve on something this old. For that matter, why hasn't anyone made a disk that can hold more than 1.44MB?

Well I'll be damned... I didn't know you could rename with wildcards. I just do "dir /b > names.txt", open names.txt in Textpad, and use some regular expressions to turn each filename into a rename command. Bam, instant batch file. |

If I were you I'd get a laptop with a LOT of RAM and HD space, and at least 32MB of video memory. Between ROM hacking, programming, and just having a tendency to have a lot open at once, I tend to run out of memory pretty often. Plus a laptop would just pwn. I don't know about you though, it all depends what you need... |
-Crazily powerful computer to play games? Build a PC with a fast AMD CPU, plenty of RAM, and a huge graphics card (at least 64MB, I hear Raedon and GEForce are good). -Cheap, decent computer? Build it yourself with some cheaper parts. 2Ghz CPU, 256MB RAM, and 32MB video should be plenty for most of what you'd want to do with a computer. -Something to just read email and type with? Get a cheap Dell or HP. They won't be nearly powerful enough to do much besides that, but they can be really cheap. (If you go with HP though, you might want to install an extra fan. Also, keep in mind that a 1Ghz Celeron is equivilant to ~800Mhz with most others; they may have a 1Ghz clock signal, but they're poorly designed overall.) Of course, pretty much the same applies for a laptop, except you probably won't be able to build your own, and you can pretty much forget about using one for serious gaming. As far as hard drives go, get at least 40GB. I suggest around 80 for anything more than the basics, and ~120 for more advanced stuff. If you have any plans to download TV shows or movies I suggest getting the biggest possible HD you can, that stuff will fill it up REALLY fast. Also note that just about every HD manufacturer measures 1KB = 1000B, rather than 1024... Why this is legal, I'm not sure, but the end result is that what they call 250GB is really only around 232. Also, some older computers and OSes might not support partitions over 137GB. Finally, I highly suggest 7200RPM or more. It's frickin fast!

Ack, didn't notice that. If changing USB ports solved the problem, I would suspect the card the other port is on might be going bad. |
How is that GBA media player anyway? Decent playback quality? Being able to watch anim

Could be some replacements of the models... The different versions probably all use the same model format. |
Somewhat on this topic, is it possible to set up a standard POP email address to automatically forward to another address? Apparently my ISP's been sending stuff to their provided account which I never use, and I'd like it to pop up in my Gmail account instead.

Why I never. I have no need to download any more porn, thank you. No, that was probably mostly the 2GB of Card Captor Sakura, 7GB of .hack//sign and 2GB of music, all downloaded within 3 days. (Total download was actually only ~21GB, the big thing was seeding BitTorrent literally 24/7. ) I was surprised at how leniant they were though... I had a grand total of 108GB out of a max of 15 before they even did that, and that was just "your connection is shut down until you click this button". (That and 3 emails, but they sent them to some obscure account I never use. ) |
Lucky me though, it happened at like 11:30 yesterday, so only half an hour before the counters were reset anyway. I'll have to write some sort of program to grab the stats from their status page that I just found out existed. Still, I can't believe I managed to upload nearly 100GB in a month... That's capped at 50k/sec too (or else the damn modem would crash).

No, actually, I picked that one up in Slime Forest (a typing game ). I know how Babelfish can be... (Ever try translating something like "one thousand sixty two" into any language? Lazy bastards. ) |
