Minor bump? Pfft, this is LT. I really doubt anyone cares. And here's a screenshot of that program, BTW. Alpha translucency freakin' rocks. |

1: Level graphics are painful and gross. Numbers on scorebar are inconsisent sizes. Replacement for 'time' text just plain sucks. Only thing good in this pic is the item box. 2: Random green and purple looks like crap. Why is the window green? 3: Colour choices are just nasty. Nice shy guy though. 4: Koopa looks like he got smacked in the face. Shyguys' palettes are way off, they look like they're totally black and on fire. I'm not even going to try to guess what that thing above the score is. Not to mention, how the hell are you supposed to get through there? 5: Eww. The background looks glitched, the green burns, the scorebar is unreadable. |

Here is the old thread where the Memory Locations Thread copies were posted. It's no longer stickied, since most of its contents were in here anyway, but there are some useful memory addresses in there. [edit] Better yet, here is a one-page archive of the thread in standard HTML format. I've removed most of the board links such as Quote and New Reply, and added some more useful ones. I also changed the background because the old one just didn't look that good with the changes. If you really hate it, click 'Toggle BG' to switch to the old one; it uses a cookie, so it should stay that way next time you view it. Also, this is probably the longest time ever between me posting something and editing it. (edited by HyperHacker on 03-17-05 10:51 PM) |

I was thinking of making it an announcement, but I don't think I can. I'll just have to get rid of an old useless sticky and put this up there instead.

As far as finding one, just check other peoples' sigs, they usually tell (or link to) where they come from. I think there was one called SigX that was rather popular.

There are probably free email redirection services like that, but I really doubt you'll find one that lets you pick the domain. (If you do though, PM me. I bet xxx@nospam.com gets automatically dropped from a lot of mailing lists. ) |

I would use them a lot, except for the fact that their fKitten Yiffer rate is ridiculous. Maybe it's just me but I've never had good luck with floppies. I only use them if it's the only way to transfer a file or for boot disks. |

The computer locks up until you turn off the printer? I don't see how the printer has anything to do with this process. Have you tried disconnecting it beforehand? You might have an I/O conflict or some sort of problem with the printer port. |

*Accidentally un-sticks and re-sticks thread* |
Just thought I'd add VLC Player to the list. It's an awesome video/audio player, mainly because of its versatility. It can play just about any format and is available for just about every OS - Windows, Mac, Linux, even BeOS. It uses its own video core rather than Windows', so it uses much less resources and doesn't suffer from the restrictions and problems that most players do. (It actually runs fast enough to play .ogm files on my computer, more than Windows Media can say. ) Supports speed control for just about every format, quick jump forward and backward, internal volume control, subtitles, DVDs, multiple audio and video tracks, and can force normal or widescreen for any video. It can even display the video as colourized ASCII art in a DOS box. Also, it's open-source and skinnable. Tips: -If you don't mind bugs, click Developers and get the latest nightly build, which contains the ability to take screenshots and other nifty features. -If you have a joypad which can emulate keypresses, you can assign the buttons to certain hotkeys, and use it as a remote! The program works almost exactly like a VCR or DVD player this way, complete with simple on-screen display. -The Hotkeys screen takes a while to load. During this time it will appear to have crashed, but just wait, it'll come up eventually. -Add the following entries to your file associations for video files: "D:\Program Files\VLC Media Player\vlc.exe" --aspect-ratio="16:9" "%1" "D:\Program Files\VLC Media Player\vlc.exe" --aspect-ratio="4:3" "%1" [edit the path as needed, of course, and leave the quotes how they are.] These options will allow you to force the video to play in 4:3 (normal) or 16:9 (widescreen) format regardless of the original specification. An awesome feature for those of us who are sick of having 2-inch black borders at the top and bottom of the movie. (restricted) |

I just happened to notice a few things that I found rather odd, mainly with mod/admin options in threads. Nothing too complicated, just some minor tweaks. |
1) When posting a thread there are options to have it initially closed and/or stickied. When replying, however, only the 'close' option appears. I haven't exactly made a lot of stickies, but when I do, it's usually a thread someone else posted, and I figured it'd be handy to have this option as well. (It's not really important, no, but as long as we have close there, we may as well have sticky too.) 2) Confirmation prompts on the quick thread options. If these were in place I probably wouldn't have accidentally un-stuck a thread instead of re-opening it to reply. (Sure, I knew enough to hit Back, copy the URL, and change '0' to '1', but not everyone does, and old stickies can end up waaaaay down in the list when un-stuck.) Fortunately this was easy to undo, but suppose I'd accidentally clicked 'trash' instead... 3) When viewing a closed thread, the Quote/Edit options should still appear for mods/admins, and maybe the 'new reply' button as well (though perhaps with some text to indicate that the thread is closed). The way it is, the thread has to be re-opened to edit a post or reply, and then closed again, which not only takes longer but opens up the potential for someone else to post there while you're typing. 4) Some indication of a person's layout being blocked, such as text next to the Quote/Edit/etc links. (Maybe even a Block/Unblock layout link.) It can be confusing when someone mentions their layout and you can't see it because you blocked it a while back, especially if they've made a new one since then. 5) A 'Mark this forum read' checkbox next to the forum jump selector. It's not much use being able to jump straight to another forum if you have to go back and click 'Mark Forum Read' anyway.

That really isn't necessary... You can fit 100 characters, you may as well make use of them. |

Maybe this is a stupid question, but is this going to be like a 3D OoT-style game, or 2D, or what? An OoT-style DS game would rule so frickin much, but I thought FSA looked pretty neat too. Those cartoony-style graphics work quite well in a 2D game. Either way, sounds awesome, but will it be able to compete with the futuristic, ultra-real video games of 2012? |

(I say minor spoilers, because really, it's all explained at the very beginning of Fusion. Still, click at your own risk. ) |
Spoiler: As you probably know, in Fusion, Samus gets 'merged' with the X parasites which gives her some sort of Metroid-like attributes... Is this reversed at the end or in later games, or is she still in this condition? (restricted)
