Every OS I've seen except the various Mac ones use a taskbar... What other sorts of systems are popular? It could be neat to use something different.

Reminds me of this old computer I have. 4 HD bays, 4 drive bays and a floppy bay up at the top. (One of them is used by the reset switch, activity LED, etc, with a cool panel I found containing them all that sits in there. The power switch is at the top by the floppy drive.) There's also enough room for 2 PSUs - why, I don't know, but it's a nice place to cram another HD if need be. The motherboard is also nice. It would have been a totally kickass computer a few years ago (especially before I took most of the HDs and RAM out ). Got like 8 PCI slots too. I'd try to stick this board in there, but the panel on the back with the video/sound/printer ports would make it difficult.

Of course, my dream case would be BIG. Like twice the width and at least 1.5 times the height of your average tower. At least 4 HD bays, 4 drive bays and 2 floppy bays, all with their own activity and maybe power LEDs. The power/reset switch would be similar to a car's ignition (turn it one click to start up, two to reset). The audio jacks (hell, maybe every port) would be on the front along with several USB ports (just get one of those hubs and stick it in there ). Maybe even an LCD display showing things like system temperature, CPU load, memory usage, volume etc (probably connected through serial/parallel port). And the coolest feature would be hot-swappable HDs. All the HD bays would be at the front, and would be just like floppy bays, except they wouldn't be screwed in. Instead, they would be similar to the PS2's network adaptor, you just push the drive in as far as it'll go. This way you could put some sort of handles on the drives, and insert/remove them easily! (Especially useful if there's like a fire or something... Just grab and pull. Sure it'll crash, but it's better than trying to haul the whole computer around or losing all your stuff.)

I might just try to make that someday, out of wood or something.

I think a lot of people still wouldn't trust it. They obviously have no problems with infecting their users with spyware, who's to say they'll have any with switching back to it at some point? Or even using the ad code to install more, if possible.

If you mean printing them with %I64d, that was an accident. I changed it to %1.2f, works fine. I just wanted actual decimals. If a program told you a file was 6 GB and it was actually 6.89, you'd probably be rather upset, especially if you're downloading it on a slow connection or low on HD space.

Besides, sure you can find if someone masterbaute on the school toilets or have problems with their stomaches but uhh... just no.

Why do I see more and more things like this in the US, but nothing like that in Sweden?

Because nobody cares about Sweden. Seriously though, like it's so hard to tell if someone's been doing drugs in the bathroom? And forget masturbating, that has to be one of the worst possible places to do it. Most of them at my school don't even have locks on the doors, and kids like to come in and kick them all open every 2 minutes or so.

What's the big deal with headers? See if the file size is a multiple of 2, if not, seek to 0x200 before you read/write it. Seems simple enough. I haven't tried it yet but going by your description it sounds like there isn't an actual disassembly displayed like in FCEUXD? That's really one of the most useful features in a debugger. NO$GMB's implimentation, save for the bugs, is essentially perfect.

Still, you are correct. You would need a good disassembler for this, but this set fof tools is just for once you have all the jumps figured out.

So... it's just an ordinary SNES assembler then? Once you've disassembled it to that point, it's essentially a re-creation of the game's source code which you could use in any assembler.

I'm no programmer, but for a disassembler, couldn't you set the program to read the different types of jumps and produce the right labels for them?

It's possible to some extent, but it wouldn't be able to make proper labels, just numbers. You'd need a human to go through the code and figure out what does what to make real labels.

I just want Mario Kart DS. Revolution will be awesome, no doubt, but I wonder if it'll really have any special features? It'd be cool to see something totally new and different instead of just a more powerful graphics card, faster CPU and more memory.

And you can kill piranha plants with a stomp, if they're asleep at the time (Try coming down on one with a butt-stomp from the owl, heh.)
