I'm pretty sure Acmlm will add any rank sets you make, but you should probably wait for a confirmation before you go off making them. (Unless you just like making them. )

There's a program called Camtasia or something along those lines that can record from your desktop, you might be able to use that to capture the emulator in fullscreen. (If you did it with a window you'd end up with the border in the shot. ) Also if you just open the ROM in TLP and find the Mario sprites, you could easily overwrite them with blank tiles.

How exaclty do I work this? I compiled it with 'gcc -c' like the doc says, and it didn't output anything except a .o file in \bin, even though the source file was in a completely different folder.

Even GBAs. ) If you're going to try replacing other parts, I suggest that you try to find the problem by removing one device at a time until it works. (Make sure you put them back in of course.) This means everything - CPU, RAM, etc until you get some indication that there are no problems other than whatever you removed not being there. That should tell you what the problem most likely is, but keep trying anyway. If two or more devices seem to be causing the problem, it could be a compatibility issue. As for your BIOS settings, can you actually set those? You probably shouldn't play around with them, if they're voltage settings for the memory and AGP (graphics card port). |

BIOSes go by the same rules as ROMs, since technically, that's what they are. There might be some homebrews which you could distribute, but you can't post the official ones here. And it'd really help if you mentioned what emulator you're using here. |

It's usually a safe bet that a lightly damp cloth will do just fine. It's worked on every Game Boy I've ever owned.

Looks really nice, but a bit too much blue. (Haven't actually played the demo though.) I especially like this pic. Also, this one's not showing up. An idea might be to remove the basic powerup system, and instead make it so that you always have either a tail or fireballs, which you choose with Select. You can also get other powerups such as Hammer Mario and the P-Wing, which would last for a few seconds or until you get hit depending on the powerup. (Perhaps you could even find them in the level.) Also, the music changing idea is really cool. When you say you're getting rid of lives though, you mean like you have unlimited lives right? Those last few pics look especially cool (Metroid style, woo), though a bit too green. |

I thought it did provide some basic functions for stuff like reading discs and 3D graphics. Ah well, I imagine most if not all official developers use the official SDK, so all the functions should be pretty much the same. (That's the nice part about hacking games written in C/C++ - all the code is standardized and neat. )

Just FYI: Usually, when you open anything in a graphic editor such as TLP or YY-CHR, you'll just see garbage. You have to scroll through the ROM and find the graphics. In this case it's not a problem though, since they've been dumped into a separate file for you. (The ones in the ROM are compressed anyway, so you wouldn't be able to edit them.)

Dammit, Sega can't afford this, and they're one of the best game developers around. I'm officially boycotting EA within my household, and wherever else I can.

I've been using gcc -o file.exe file.c, seems to be doing the job. The only problem I've encountered so far is with the statement 'BOOL StopEmulation = false;' - it raises an error that false is undefined outside a function. If I don't give it a default assignment, it works, but then I don't know what the value will be. |
And yay for being able to have a console window with a Win32 program. Sure beats MessageBox() for debug output. [edit] Pooh, I just have to capitalize it. Where's that resource editor anyway? Do I have to download that entire program? Also what's this 'C99 mode'? I get the error "'for' loop initial declaration used outside C99 mode" when I try to do a for loop with the variable defined in it, like "for(int i=0;i<48;i++)". (This works if i is defined outside the loop, though.) (edited by HyperHacker on 01-18-05 07:25 PM) (edited by HyperHacker on 01-18-05 07:43 PM)

Well, you write how you want then. The only part I don't like about it is that they have to be capitalized, but a quick '#define true TRUE' and '#define false FALSE' fixes that. |
I'm having a bit of a problem with pointers, though. This function in particular: void Inc16(BYTE reg1, BYTE reg2) { printf("Inc16(%X, %X) -> ",reg1,reg2); reg2++; if(reg2 == 0) { reg1++; } printf("%X, %X\n",reg1,reg2); } What I'm trying to do is pass it two variables, and have it modify the variables themselves. If I call it like "Inc16(regB, regC);" where regB = 0x13 and regC = 0x37, the function does indeed show that it's incremented reg2, but regC is still 0x37. I also tried using pointers, the best I could manage was to increment the pointer itself. [edit] Bleh, no tabs. Also I know that if doesn't need braces but I'm gonna have to add to it later. It's simple if you think about how the rules work. You can't flip the verb list unless DTMF is in 3 or more. That easy. |
