I couldn't help noticing that every time I install any updates, the damn thing changes all my file associations to use WMP for videos. Since WMP sucks and in many cases can't even play the videos, this is incredibly annoying. How can I make it not do that? |

It's far too easy to exploit, especially given that you have to have your name on it. The only way to be sure it was done correctly is to re-do it yourself. Besides, teachers get payed to do it, maybe they should be the ones doing it? Lazy bums. |

I did rename it in the dialog editor, and it updated resource.h but it doesn't seem to want to re-read the file. |
[edit] Also, regarding memory management; how can I define a variable-sized array? For example, say I wanted to make a program to read files that could be anywhere up to 4MB. If the file is only 32K, it wouldn't make much sense to have 4MB allocated for it. Is there some way to dynamically allocate memory blocks of a variable size? It could be a simple implementation of time dilation. Whenever the timer is decremented, use the character's X speed as a count down to the next decrement. Though I don't see why they'd have bothered... |
(Could be a glitch; most games keep track of how many frames to go before ticking another second, and the X speed could be getting periodically dumped into that.) Lag shouldn't be an issue, the game has to process everything on the screen every frame no matter how fast you're moving, and I'm pretty sure the NES has a timer interrupt that interrupts X times a second that you could use.

 I'm not sure if ExGFX could be used there. IIRC it uses mode 7 which has a different format.

1: Nice, love the ? block. The font seems too small, though. |
2: Pretty dark, Mario looks rather out of place. The small font actually looks pretty good for OW names. 3: Cool for weirdness' sake. 4: Nice ravens. 5: I like how the ground isn't totally flat, but the big bumps at the sides of the hole look odd. 6: Cool. The blue thing does look a bit out of place if it is indeed part of the BG though. 7: Not bad, but the cement blocks don't really fit underwater, and the BG should be a little darker. (For that matter, maybe a real BG would be good.) 8: Cool idea but it looks crappy, the water's too bright. A palette change would probably fix it. 9: Looks neat. Now how's Mario to get out of there? The Boos especially look awesome.10: Again, very nice. Ghost Guys > Eeries. 11: Aaah, my eyes! Other than the black and white stripes, it looks good, but you might want to lower the ground a bit so it's not taking up half the screen.

), as well as simple playlist support, multiple levels of bass boost, a really cool option that makes voices sound more realistic, auto-shutoff when not playing, and a remote that clips onto your shirt or whatever. Plus of course it plays CDs, and for MP3s you get 700MB per disc, and they're only like 2 bucks each. And come on, we're all thinking it... The Nano looks like a dildo. Actually, that's not a bad idea. iDildo, vibrates to the beat.
