Possible, but most tile-based games will only print as many digits as they need. (For example, if you try to set the time limit to 1000, it doesn't expand to 4 digits, it just reads A00.) They generally have the alphabet follow the number tiles, and use a simple algorithm to increment the tile number and move to the next tile if need be. Since you have to manually set the number of digits (eg: even if only a 1-digit number, it prints 2 spaces, but doesn't print a digit in the first space), they just set it for 2 and leave it. Meaning, if the highest digit goes above 9, the program doesn't check and move on, it just keeps going A, B etc.

If we're lucky we might be able to locate a constant that defines how many digits to print. Otherwise, some major hacking is in order.

Let's also keep in mind how Mario Kart 64, the second Mario Kart game, was the first to have a true Y-coordinate (true 3D instead of being totally flat). Then MKSC was flat again, and MKDD was of course 3D.
Although I guess you might not count that since it's really just due to hardware limitations, but it IS true.

I just thought of a cool new custom block, but I don't know how to do it. The question should pretty much tell you what the idea is:

How can I load a different ExGFX/Super ExGFX file during the level?

You could do that (I used it for a changing water level effect) but I'm looking for instant change. I don't see trying to choose a slot as being a problem, there's ~4000 available. Palettes could be an issue but you could always use the Palette Blocks to load palettes from other levels, or I could even hack something into the blocks to load new palette data as well.

Also I don't think copying YI will help since it's done totally differently.

I think there would just be a slight lag, you might have to disable interrupts though. I know how to load new graphics, the problem is how to go from an ExGFX file # to a ROM address and decompress them. (Plus since ExGFX is loaded during the level decompression, I imagine there's a routine that does it all, unless the SNES has a feature like GB where you can turn the video off and have full access to VRAM? In that case I might have to write a custom routine for it...)

May as well post this one too.

Pretty basic, except for the gaps in late August and a bit in early July. I can also see late October when I moved and didn't have cable.

That's a nice idea but I don't think computers are good enough at English to do it. But I got to thinking what if your rating was part of your EXP gain? Higher ratings get more EXP.

Yes, but you think they would do it anyway just to avoid the cost and hassle of making 2 sizes of lids.
Come to think of it I have seen 1-litre and 600ml bottles with bigger openings, but they weren't pop. Generally fruit juice.

Wonder if that's the idea behind Pepsi's Ipod giveaway? Supposedly people drink more pop when they're listening to loud music.

Mine resets occasionally but I've never noticed a pattern to it. They could be blocking the ports, but I would also guess you're using too much bandwidth up or down... possibly too much for the modem to handle even. (Of course it could be defective, or both. )

Lenina's post just reminded me of another example of great management. Last year they moved my math class over the summer without even trying to tell me. I spent the whole day in the wrong class and nobody even noticed (since we didn't do any work that day). Bad enough they did that but you think they would catch on when one attendance sheet has me marked absent and one has me marked as 'needs to be added to attendance sheet'.

Yeah, I re-wrote it in VB. Unless you mean actual CPU emulation which would be far too complicated for such a simple task. (Plus I did write a Gameboy emulator core in VB. Got about 75,000 instructions per second out of the required 4,000,000. )

I've had them before but this one is just nuts. I dreamed I was on the board, and while scrolling down I noticed that someone had created a Christmas layout with YI graphics similar to mine. After it finished loading I realized it was actually a direct copy of mine and told them to remove it.

Then I get up, read the board, and see this.

These move Mario back and forth between the foreground layer and background layer of the current level. Mario can only interact with objects that are on the same layer as he is.

There was a custom block just like this in SMW. For some reason, the programming for having Mario go behind stuff is already in the game. (Mmm, beta leftovers...)

And as stuff sticks to him he gets heavier.

So chances are, one way or another, I'm going to get a new HD soon. When that happens I intend to install Windoze directly onto it (nice clean install), then copy all the files over from this one, leaving it in for whatever other stuff I need. The problem is Windoze is already installed on this one. Would there be problems trying to install on another HD when one already has it? (To make things more complicated, this one actually dual-boots Mandrake 9.1 too. )

BTW, I'm talking about XP Pro. Should probably mention that.
