Yeah, none of those 'your rom will be corrupt ono' things are true. What, are they gonna keep good and bad copies of every single ROM? Or write an entire script to unzip, corrupt and rezip the file? I think not. Originally posted by Karadur That's just one of those anti-script-scripts to keep people from hotlinking. You shouldn't have to worry about it.
Oh God, not them too. There's one site, I think its name starts with either 'Free' or 'Cherry', and ends with an acronym shared by both a type of storage and a museum. They have HUGE lists of ROMs, and none of them have download links, just this 'ISDA Protected' crap. (Wasn't always that way, either. ) I mean wtf? If your site gets shut down, you don't leave it up and just remove the links, you SHUT IT THE HELL DOWN! And BMF, this, and optionally (highly recommended) this, are the only things you MUST install to download ROMs. (edited by HyperHacker on 12-02-04 03:41 PM) |

Nice. Emerald's (which I'll have to rename now, thanks a lot Nintendo) has the entire water/battle sequence replaced. Currently just text, I intend to make something cooler later.

Bleh. Yeah, I need to upgrade, but the one I have in mind costs 1 grand US, which means I have a total of 1 grand US to go.

Making a key unique to each CD wouldn't cost anything. They'd just have to declare a variable in the source code that's guaranteed to not show up ANYWHERE else (use a big long string ), and find out where that ends up being placed in the file, then program their CD-writing software to change the value of that variable to a unique ID each time it presses a disc. Sounds complicated, but it's really not. But no, there isn't much point. |

Exactly, why should he use up extra HD space for the chance that he'll send you a file? When I write hacky little programs for things like hotkeys, I program them to work for MY computer, not yours. Same idea.

I have a Pentium 3 sticker on my Zelda: OoT cart. You guys should see my PC. I'm supposedly getting a webcam for Christmas so I'll take some pics. It's like frankenstein - ugly, dumb and slow-minded, and made from parts of other dead PCs. |

Well, if we're going to go so far as to post key layouts... I have a Saitek P880, it's nice. The red button is Shift. You don't have to actually hold it while you press the key either. The one in the middle just switches analog/digital mode. FCEUd: 1: B 2: Rapid-fire B 3: A 4: Rapid-fire A 7/8: Start 9/10: I forget. ZSnes: 1: Y 2: X 3: B 4: A 5: Start 6: Turbo 7: L 8: R 9: Select Shift-1: Choose save state Shift-2: Load Game Menu Shift-3: Toggle Sprites Shift-4: Restore all layers Shift-5: Toggle framerate Shift-6: Toggle clock Shift-7: Load state Shift-8: Save state Shift-9: Reset Shift-10: Switch input device (controller, mouse, gun etc) Shift-Left: Toggle BG1 Shift-Up: Toggle BG2 Shift-Right: Toggle BG3 Shift-Down: Toggle BG4 Though the Shift functions don't seem to be working in ZSnes anymore. NO$GMB: I have trouble getting the joystick to work with this, and I always use the keyboard for it anyway. Arrows: Directions Numpad 0: A Numpad 1: B Numpad Enter: Start Right Shift: Select Numpad *: Reset (not configurable) Numpad +: Turbo (not configurable) It also goes left when I press left alt. Others I can't be bothered to remember. Say, can anyone help with this? ZSnes has stopped responding to the shift keys (which are actually mapped to keyboard keys, and it works fine if I use the keyboard). Worse, pressing 6 turns turbo on but then I have to mash it a million times to turn it back off! |

Well if it's programmed anything like Link's Awakening, I wouldn't be surprised. So much crap in there. French text and stuff. Hell if you change anything it breaks on GBC.

I should have noticed before, but JJ, those ground blocks need another black pixel in the corners. Anyway that looks really neat. The font kinda sucks but it's readable, and far better than I could ever do. I wouldn't be too disappointed if it ended up being the final version. |

Nice! About the *96, I think the *9 is one tile, and the other is the standard 6. So you just have to edit the *9. Chances are it just places that over the 9 and leaves whatever other number there. Problem is though, wouldn't it still only show 2 digits? You'd get garbage tiles after 99. (Of course if necessary you could change those tiles to be 10, 11, 12 etc. ) |

Originally posted by Karadur GBA link support, via both cable and wireless, and online support for all GBA/DS games. Is there an expansion port? They might make a cable for that. If not maybe we'll get lucky and be able to easily wire one in like with Super Game Boy. (It has the right pins, you just need to connect a cable.) |

I've seen some pretty bad bugs in games, but mostly understandable. (It's possible to crash Mario World in one level for example, but that's one level and the method's not exactly obvious. ) Or play any game by Rockstar (formerly DMA) and you'll find thousands, I seriously think they don't bug test at all. But I simply do not understand how this one slipped through quality control - in Pok

Yoshi's tongue isn't sticky, he grabs stuff with it. I think the entire Mushroom Kingdom is another planet. I've said this before but hear me out. It explains the low gravity, but there's something else. If this is a planet similar, but not identical to Earth, its inhabitants must be similar to, but not human. They're all aliens! That's why they experience growth spurts upon eating Mushrooms, can shoot fire from their hands, etc. |
