| Any email with a .pif attatchment is a virus. There's no reason to send PIFs to another person. Looks like just a typical worm relying on stupid users to open the file tho. I haven't actually got much of that yet. |

I don't see why the hell spyware's legal. It's an invasion of privacy (especially when it reports your activities back to people; isn't that illegal to do without the user's knowledge?), it slows down your computer, and it clogs up tech support with people asking why they're getting popups when they're not online. It practically is a virus. |

The whole idea with virii is that it's hard to figure out who did it.

Something similar happened to me a while ago with the Circuit theme. All the posts were on the same dark BG instead of alternating light and dark. |

In Win98 you can go to Customize This Folder (I think that's what it's called) and make an HTML template. Some simple JS can make a password prompt strong enough to keep your average Joe out. (Won't help with DOS though.) |

I personally like the 'do not turn upside-down' labels found on the bottom of some objects.  Or of course the 'emergency cock' on a Japanese plane... I don't wanna know.

I always thought it'd be nice to tweak the physics to be more like Sonic, but I dunno exactly what you'd need to change. Consider this for example...
The _ represents the ground, J is a Jump Block, B is a Boost Block, o is clouds, P is a pipe cannon Mario comes shooting out of, and the periods are the path Mario would take if this were a Sonic game. However, instead of bouncing straight up off the jump block, Mario'd continue to the right. This could be fixed with some ASM tweaking of that block, but there's a bigger problem. Where Sonic would fly right over the clouds at the bounce block, Mario falls after an inch or two. [edit] Ehh, that looks all wrong. It could have been a hacker that deleted the DB, but I kinda doubt it. Maybe a virus that got detected by the AV after hitting a few files. Personally though, I think it was a glitch. Maybe a server screwup, maybe something went wrong in the board's code, made the database start growing really friggin fast, and the server deleted it. All I know's it wasn't deliberate. (I emailed them about it, and they said they'd never heard of it happening.) I would like to know WTF happened though... (edited by HyperHacker on 03-16-04 01:22 PM)

, but I don't really consider them 'prized'. For that, it'd have to be my custom-modded PSX. (I'll have pics later. ) It's got a viewing window in the lid (the plastic's from a CD case), a lid switch so you can watch the disc spin (and to make the swap trick easier, seeing how I only ever use it as an NES emulator and don't really have a place to get a modchip) with an LED on the lid to tell you when it's set to open (and the power LED goes off too, since that's where it sucks power from), and 3 little LEDs poking out the top right wired up to the drive command lines so you can see what it's doing (speed up, slow down, seek etc), just for the heck of it. (Suppose I could actually add switches to control the drive, but doing anything to it'd just crash it anyway.)

Well it kinda depends. Do you copy the entire file to memory first, or just edit it directly? |
I assume you're editing the file directly, so you'd do something like this... That'll add one to bytes 5 through 10 in the file. (Keep in mind that in VB addresses start at 1 instead of 0 like in most other things, so you'll have to add 1 to any addresses you want.)
