How to apply a patch: (Change the original version into the modified one) |
1) Make a copy of the original, unchanged SMW rom and rename it to whatever the hack is called. 2) Open LIPS and choose "Apply IPS Patch". 3) Choose the IPS file to open. 4) Select the copy you just made. How to create a patch: (So that you can share the hack with others) 1) Make the hack. 2) Open LIPS and choose "Create IPS Patch". 3) Choose the original, unchanged version of SMW. 4) Next, choose your hacked rom. 5) Finally, choose a name for the IPS file. Toy Box (is that the official name?) is those wierd boxes in Shifting Sand Land which walks/rolls/whatever on the narrow paths over the quicksand. |

Here's how to do it. When you've placed a level dot on the map, click on it and then on the button in the toolbar with the yellow level dot. A window should appear where you can change stuff. It should pretty self explaining. |

I'm pretty sure that fireballs aren't (what Lunar Magic calls) a sprite. Fireballs are their own categoty, like Mario. Therefore, it's not as easy as changing byte or two. You have to edit the fireball code to generate a sprite instead of a fireball. |

How to create a Renzor battle: Go to a new level. Enter sprite mode. Click on Edit>Insert Manual. Enter A9 into the first textbox and press OK. Click on Mario's head in the toolbar and choose #09 in the topmost dropdown menu. The entire level should turn red and say "Cannot Render: This is a boss battle level!". Save. There you go. |
Use sprites from other levels: Click on the poisonous mushroom in the toolbar. Choose which sprite set to use in the 2nd dropdown menu. Note that certain enemies can't be used together with certain others without looking wierd. (edited by Smallhacker on 06-18-05 10:07 AM)
