For one hack (canceled) I replaced Mega Mole with D.K. J.R. from Super Mario Kart for a Mario Kart themed level.

Well, this is not about hacking, but about a hacking related question.

Have anyone got a key generator for Hex Workshop 4.23 (the latest version)?

Is it just me or doesn't the purple triangle blocks work in a vertical level with the Underground 1 tileset?

Posted on 05-25-04 05:22 PM, in Working on a YI Editor Link
What? An YI editor?

*throws away "hackersisland.bb"*

Anyway... I was making an editor (so far, it can show the level headers and copy them from a level to another). However, the GUI sucked and I had to accept that you aren't supposed to do "easy to use" stuff in Blitz Basic.

Back to topic:
Great!

Here's what you have to do (in the correct order):

1: Make it show levels.
2: Add a bad GUI Layer 1 editor.
3: Find the pointer table and let it load without addresses.
4: Add a bad GUI Sprite editor.
5: Add a bad GUI Board Header editor.
6: Clean out bugs
7: Allow it to export/import graphics
8: Make a palette editor
9: Make the GUIs better
10: Clean out more bugs and release beta version
11: Add support for every version of YI
12: Make a half finished support for SMA3 without commenting it out
13: Add import/export of levels
14: MAKE A HELP FILE
15: Clean out more bugs and release Version 1.0
16: Make an overworld editor
17: Mode 7 part of the title screen editor.
18: Clean out more bugs and release Version 1.1
19: Make Demo Island
20: Add more cool stuff
21: Make Demo Island: The History Continues
22: Release the source. <-- Hint, Fu!

Use an externial tile editor. At the boss levels (with a few exeptions), there graphics used during the boss fights aren't the same as shown in LM. (This is not a bug in LM. It's how the bosses are programmed.)

Gandalf: Already tried before making the topic.
Esch-something and H. Mario: I know about that tile.
BMF: I'm using it the same way in another vertical level (another tileset) and it works fine. Also, I know about the stupid boundary programming...

Hmm... Maybe it just works on the right subscreens? (The working triangle is on the right subscreen and the non-working triangle is on the left one)

SNES (Sidescroller Maker)
PHP (Lunar Online)

You can easily find whatever text you want in SMW using e.g. the w00t SearchR2 by I believe it was J3d!, not DeJap Translations (old but still good) and looking f.i. for "P0L0A0Y0E0R", note that SearchR2 uses '0' as a wildcard.

Have fun
Blacky.

What about using .INI files so people can add their own addresses and edit ANY text in the game?

Yoshi's flying level: It's one of the normal levels... Around level 20 or something, I think.
Yoshi's house ending: Level 104 (Yes, I'm talking about the ending)

Like I said... The game uses level 104 for the ending, but it replaces the sprites automagically.

Well... This is getting offtopic, but...

My guesses are one of the following functions:

Something about an extended animation ASM that allows up to 0x20 more 16x16 tiles or something

A window showing memory and RAT information

These guesses was made after comparing LM 1.51 with 1.61 (1.60 was the version released 8 months ago, but I couldn't find a copy of it...)
V. 1.51 can be found at Zophar.
