That reminds me of my project (which I started, but only completed to 0,5%), SMWEASM, Super Mario World Easy ASM. A simple programming language that allowed the user to make his/her own blocks... Maybe I should restart it... Hmm...

Uhm... That's not a very good idea... How the animated tiles are drawn depends on this option...

Try changing your computer clock and set it's date to certain special days, like X-mas or halloween...

Opps. Sorry. I remembered the order wrong. I thought about the palette/number of tiles menu, but now I see that you wrote about that. Please don't care about my previous post.

1) Open your hex editor
2) Load your rom
3) Learn ASM
4) Find out that you won't need the hex editor yet
5) Close the hex editor
6) Find out how sprites work (If you fail, wait 10 years until someone else does)
7) Open your hex editor
8) Load your rom
9) Edit
10) Save
11) Play

My idea:

Mario travels to Sun Island, a tropical island with fresh fruits, friendly people and relaxing sunshine. However, unknown to Mario, Bowser is still angry after his fKitten Yiffer in Super Mario Sunshine and have kidnapped "Sol", the god of sunshine. Unless "Sol" is returned to his temple within 5 days, the sun will dissappear, which would erase all life on the planet Earth. Mario must find Bowser and "Sol", return Sol to his temple and save the world from destruction.

You can see them, but you can't edit them.

Something I just came up with: IF you have to use levels that's almost impossible to beat, make an alternitive path (on the previous level, normal and secret goals are next to each other. (Like two pipes. "Choose a path!") so the player can play an easier level instead.

BMF: I'd LOVE to see that, but don't! Otherwise, the full game won't be that fun...

The MAP16 editor is the 16x16 tile editor. Exporting files have got nothing with editing them. Edit them in LM, and then, if you would like to copy the MAP16 to another ROM, export it, open another rom and import it.

Have fun.

Nice! The conveyor belts looks kinda off, though.

Really nice!

The water looks kinda wierd. IF you have to do like that, then give it a reason to be like that (like a force field)

Nice! A castle themed background would make them better.

Nice Hammer Brother!

Neat! Three things looks kinda off, though.
1: The mini piranha plants (forgot their real name)
2: The pipes
3: The SMB bush

Looking nice, exept for the green logs in the third shot.

Give those poor vines an end. It looks kinda wierd.
Also, look at Rex. What's that green line doing there?
The pipe pallettes looks kinda wrong too...

Who doesn't love SMA2?

I was messing around a lot with the score bar earlier. I have the address (thanks to BMF), but it's on my old computer, which stands in pieces in my bro's room.

At least this might be to some help:

The status bar format:

Remember: The byte number is backwards, like this:

01001011 76543210
First, it's one byte containing the tile number, then there's a "settings byte":

Byte 7: X flipping
Byte 6: Y flipping
Byte 5: Priority
Byte 4: Palette (3 bytes)
Byte 3: Palette (3 bytes)
Byte 2: Palette (3 bytes)
Byte 1: Unknown
Byte 0: Unknown

That's not what he ment.

They were talking about the lack of an 8x8 tile editor in the OW editor and then JJ said that you could just load the OW GFX into an unused level with SGFX Bypass and change the graphics in the level 8x8 editor, instead of extracting the graphics and edit them in a tile editor.

Ehm... For what? A super awesome thing, like an inventory screen?

Accually... That wouldn't be a bad idea... The game pauses and a window pops up showing sereval items. You choose one and it will appear in the item drop box, pretty much like the SMB3 inventory. Those items could be awards in minigames or maybe be buyable? *hint hint*

Every night I've got the same nightmare over and over again where JJ posts that his harddrive broke and that every backup of this hack was corrupt... :'(

Edit:
By the way... Looking great!
