| Speed up layer 2, eh? Try to check how they did in Wendy's castle. (Wait... Maybe that's hard-coded? Nah.) | |||

| What's up with the "Mario Starting Location" sprite in the LM Overworld editor? Yes, I know that you can move him around, but I'm talking about what it looks like. Sometimes, it's Mario, sometimes, it's Luigi and IIRC, there's sometimes Mario on a red Yoshi. It doesn't seem to be random, like something based on a byte in the ROM or so... Can anyone help me to understand? Fu? | |||

Originally posted by Chaos Force I've actually never noticed this before. Maybe it depends on where you put the sprite? | Ok... It was like I thought (but didn't post). It's affected by date! The 17:th of March seems to show Luigi (at least on my computer). The rest of the dates in March (haven't checked every date, but most of them) shows Mario. Maybe there's something special about 17/3? Fu's birthday? Edit: Hmmmm... IIRC, I only saw Mario on Yoshi the first time I loaded this version of LM... Hmmm... *Checks registry... Tomorrow...* (edited by Smallhacker on 03-17-04 04:43 PM) (edited by Smallhacker on 03-17-04 04:48 PM) |

Level names? Yes, please! I've been wishing this for a long time.1: Setting that instead of writing the "Entrance to level 105", it writes the level name: "Entrance to Yoshi's Island 1". For the levels 25-FF, it would show the number instead. 2: The window where you change a level tile's settings, it would show the level name instead of the numbers (option in a OV editor menu). 3: Like 1, but for the "Exit to level whatever". I'd LOVE this! (Note: It loads from the ROM, not a list.) Also, what are the CGADSUB registers? |

| Maybe this isn't the right forum, but still... Are there any program that can record movies from another program? I need one that captures ZSNES when I play in it. Yes, I know about ZSNES built in movie recorder, but it requires the ROM to be viewed. This could be used to make "Preview Trailers" of upcoming hacks, instead of just screenshots. *Picture of the SMW OV* "Somewhere close to Yoshi's Island..." *Screen zooms in on Y.I.* "...evilness lurks..." *Siluette of Bowzer* "...that can conquer..." *The Koopa kids runs out of a castle* "...the world!" *0,25 secs flashes of various of screenshots* "This summer..." *Mario stomps on an enemy* "...the evil must be destroyed..." *Bowzer laughts* "...and the princess must be saved!" *The princess screams "HELP!"* *Clip of Mario running through a level* "SUPER" *Mario shouts "Woohoo!"* "MARIO" *Mario kicks a Koopa* "WORLD" *Mario touches a mushroom* "HACK!!" *Mario enteres the goal and the movie fades out* |

| Ok... For my hack, I'm using a boss that accually aren't a real boss. It's basicly custom blocks. Therefore, in order to end the level, I need to use a goal block. However, when using it, the "OMG! MARIO BLOWS UP THE CASTLE!!!!" movie won't show. What do I need to do in ASM to bypass this and show the movie for this level only? Would a custom block that changes some bytes in the RAM work or do I have to hack the "end level" routine? | |||

| That only does something when you finish the level by defeating a boss. I need a way for it to work when you finish it with a normal goal. | |||

| While we're talking about codes and addresses, how do you convert a SNES address into normal PC address? (Yes, I know that you can use Lunar Address, but I need to know in order to make a program.) | |||

| You need to use the "Side Exit" (or whatever it's called) sprite that appears in the original Yoshi's house. The X position decides if it also should create a fire and smoke too. | |||

Originally posted by Atma X Action panel = Status bar. It's the bar where Mario's lives, coins and items are viewed. Also, how to change the level number wan't exactly what he asked for. He ment that he wanted to make every level on the map look different. There's a simple solution. Make the Layer 1 level tiles invisible and make the level icons on Layer 2. |

| Hmm... Try to place it in Yoshi's House EXACTLY where it is in Top Secret Area. |
