Well, hello to all. And what a great board you all have indeed. Now to cut things short, check out the ROM hacking forum to see my reasons for being here. Sorry if I seem too brash, but I'm in a hurry right now. Sorry.

>http://home.ripway.com/2005-6/320981/Hacks/AncientsWish.rar Be sure to read the reademe, otherwise you'll miss very important bugs. If need to be known, a hack of FF1(E). (edited by Celice on 06-08-05 03:53 PM) (edited by Celice on 06-08-05 03:54 PM) |

E is indeed for English. As for the beggining, there is a town abour four steps in front of you. Look for slightly different tiles. As for implementing the improvment bytes, I really would have had I not had this little hack setting on my computer for about 2 years. Especially when you skills are much miore refined than they were back then, I see this as a crappy hack that I did for practice. Yet this praise if far better than what I expected. Thanks all! Yes, well, this was my first hack. Expect much better things in the future. What did YOUR first hack look like? You can't expect the best from a first timer. And besides, this criticism helps me understand how to improve upon this. And that text that doesn't match? That's been bugging me for as long as I can remember. After all, this hack has survived two hard drive crashes, three movements from one computer to another, and one entire loss of an archive. Now, if I hadn't put this out now, chances are I would of redone the entire thing. Wee.

Ah, well as for Final Facelift Bytes, I can never get them to work properly (or at least to their full extent). For example, I keep running into the same problem with expanding the battle screen as everyone else seems to be. If more clarification is needed, check near the last post in the FFHacking help. The forest villages I'm trying to incorperate into the story of the other two hacks. Also, those statues are indeed used in the final level. If you would like images of the more advanced hacks, I'll post them. (edited by Celice on 06-10-05 04:24 PM) |

Seven compressions schemes!? That's like overkill! Why someone would need that much is beyond me, but this is after all one of the most advanced NES games out there.

Strange, I just tried my patch and nothing was wrong with the overworld. Care to provide a screen Kefka?

Sounds very different from most other FF1 hacks. And that is a good thing IMO.

You know, I was just going over with my friends about having my hack span two or three ROMs. They would be connected by saves states for more space, od course.

For some reason, that looks nothing like my ripway addresses. Have that Ice guy load it up for ya.

And besides, with a split hack, you could (theoretically) have an infinite amount of space. Every little space counts!

The patch was unlocked, so I go and take a look and what do ya know? The patch corrupted something, cause all of the graphics are messed up. And they don'trun in any emulators. What I can make out though, nothing looks changed. The dialouge is all the same,as are the levels. Try making another patch.

Did this hack work for any one else? It's having the same problem as before. The only thing different is now instead of bieng 267kb, it's now the original 256kb. And the text is still the same. (edited by Celice on 06-24-05 03:53 PM) |

If I get your airship question right, you'll have to have both the tile you go on to raise the ship and the airship sprite both at the same location, or rather, have the sprite on top of the tile.

All right, the second hack is mostly complete, so here's some images. Included are some of the enemies I've completed. (edited by Celice on 07-16-05 05:06 PM) |

I haven't gotten around to touching any of the text yet, so that's why its like that. Thanks for all the praise though

Most of the battle sprites I haven't touched for at least six months. That's why there's a floating head in the character select menu. Also, what do you think about Chaos? I'm going to change the guy no matter what, but I'm in a bit of a toss up as to wether I should change everything or keep the main feel of it. |
