You can start all of those consoles WITHOUT a game in them and you still see things on screen.

So the answer to your original question is no, and no.

No, operating systems don't neccessarily have a GUI (does DOS have one? ), or even any UI whatsoever (MS-DOS without the command shell still is an operating system, you know). In fact, operating systems are defined by making available some base API functions like console text output or (which, in fact, are most important) memory/paging management, binary image loading and probably multitasking aka TSS control.

This is the second time you post a thread with an all-caps title and I have to edit it.

Please don't do that again, or else I'll have to close the affected thread without warning.

I voted the million. Would not be much of a change for me anyway, except that I would have a lot of money.

Yes, exactly 4 kb. Also, it needs to be in a special format (it's not like you could take any 4 KB sized LOLJPEG file). YY-CHR (having a link in my useful ROM hacking tools over at the Romhacking section) is a good tool for hand drawing SNES tiles.

Who the hell keeps saying you "could insert SPCs from other games"? First off, the SPC programs of non-N-SPC games (e.g. Secret of Mana) are vastly incompatible with SMAS' and always will be. Secondly, the concept of "SPC=song" is plain wrong. Most "simpler" (e.g. SMW) games' SPC dumps contain the soundtrack data for a whole part, if not all, of the game.
The main purpose of Solar Soundtrack, anyways, is to allow you to compose your own music.

I will be back from vacation on the 23rd, and will try to have SST released shortly after. Not much I can promise though.

I went to Mallorca (a rather popular island in the Mediterranean) for 10 days,
and after 6 days of interruption, I visited a Russian maths camp for two and a half weeks (from which I just returned yesterday - being at an internet cafe in St.Petersburg right now). Two days in Helsinki (Finland) to go, then I shall be back home.

Be more descriptive of your problems, or I will have this thread closed. Actually, I should already have done because it was a ROM request of some sorts.

It's an assembly language... go to zophar.net if you want some tutorials on it.

Yes... ASM is an assembly language... mainly because it is quite exactly a synonyme for assembly language.
"ASM is used in a ROM" is a sort of unlucky way to express things... thing is, AsSeMbler, basically, is machine code transscripted into a form more convenient for human beings. Everything you write in whatever programming language there is out there, in the end, gets either fully translated into machine code (which is congruent to Assembler) or needs a parser/runtime library stuck on top of it (Java or VB, for instance), which, in its turn, is machine code.
Unfortunately, many newbies asking for things that seem basic for people unexperienced in "how things are done" on the SNES get immediately served with the message of "Use Assembler" without ever being informed what Assembler is, so they end up thinking it is some exotic technique or even something SMW-specific (Glyph's stickied thread *coughs*).
There are some mediocre-to-good assembler tutorials out there, but in my opinion, you must sorts of teach yourself (partially through g'auld Trial'n'Error Principle) to get a feeling for the language. The 65c816 (which is the number of the SNES' processor, analogous to the x86 series for PCs) assembler development kit I linked in my sticky in the ROM hacking section is a good thing to get started with, along with some advice from a more or less experienced assembler hacker. BMF54123 and myself are being on IRC (use the IRC Chat link in the board's header) rather frequently, for instance.

Material things:
- Collecting rare coins/medals. Dunno why.
- Coke. I am a Coke whore and always have been.
- Mineral stones, not cut but rather of natural kind. There are rocks on my desk.

Soft sides:
- Any kind of nice people. Not much of them out there nowadays...
- Helping others, no matter of what my opinion of the person in concern is.
- Animals. All of them, except for some people. Seriously, it is more disturbing for me to see a random insect being burned by kids with magnifiers than an asshole getting his limbs torn off with a chainsaw. (Although, I must admit, I have never seen the latter happen irl.)

I have a habit to autoreplying to questions I am asked when I am paying attention to something different. Example: I hack stuff at the computer. Mom comes in and asks something like "Do you want broccoli soup for dinner?". I reply, "Ok.", although I can't stand broccoli soup at all. In fact, the only thing I will have noticed is that I was asked some question.

I tend to stay up unusually long in the evenings (I can't remember having felt tired after sunset once in my lifetime) and get up late (I feel tired like hell in the mornings even if I slept 12 hours or more before).

I have a strong dislike against sunlight, or any kind of bright light at all.

I am keeping a mess.

When I concentrated on something, I tend to pick up anything in my reach and start chewing on it. Right now, it is a spring out of a biro.

Like BMF and others in here, any kind of background noise catalyzes my process of falling asleep.

I am always having my watch on. Even when asleep or swimming.

I can't think of any kind of animal I am scared of. I panic when I see mould, though.

I have a tendency towards rambling.

I am a coke whore. 1.5 litres a day is the absolute minimum of what I consume.

Just shut up. I am sure nobody in their right minds would want to help an 11 year old spammer with making some levels for a nobody-knows-what which will most probably suck anyway.
