I believe there formerly was a Snes9x build for Mac, but afaik they discontinued netplay on the newest version. If you can find an older one which still has netplay working, you might try, although I think there was a reason for netplay being discontinued (not working properly?).

If I thought I was special enough to get him banned, I would have expressed it in a different way. All what I want to say is that I request a ban. Besides, it doesn't have to be forever, it just sucks when someone spams the SMW hacking board with capslocked messages.

I think this is a good idea. But we already have so many stickies already in here (Shouldn't we merge the two "newbies read here" threads?) And, besides, time has proven us that the existance of a thread called something with "new users read here first" doesn't make newbies read it. They prefer making new threads and drawing attention to themselves , you know. Not that it -always- were a bad thing. But in most cases, it is.

For a game which has so much different tilesets at 4 bpp, some of which even are HDMA-optimized, it is very likely they are compressed. There's nothing I can do for you but refer to FuSoYa (whom someone smart called the "compression guru" lately). PM him, or whatever you prefer.

Editing BRR data using a hex editor is about the weirdest idea I ever heard. It's like, assembling an MP3 in one. Not that hard, of course, but still something.

SMAS tracks are all similar. That means, you can easily put in some, for instance, SMB2 tracks into an SMW with Bouche's SMAS music engine hack.
Just be patient, developing a hacking tool of SST's complexity always takes an unpredictable amount of time... I -hope- to be able to release it soon, though. I really shouldn't be playing Warcraft 3 that much

Seriously, although I liked star fox 2's gameplay (especially the space battles) more than sf1's, the latter still beats any other space simulation game I know at soundtrack and overall atmosphere.

Is it just me, have I misread something or is it a bug that this editor denies to react on the "open file" button?

Andolf is damn hard in SF1 compared to the one in SF2 (which I, actually, played first). Yet, I somehow got through the ending level (going through the titania branch) without dying the very first time I played it... until I reached Andolf.

Well,

I thought it would be better if I at least explained why SST isn't out yet (although I announced a release date previously).

The problem is, I am suffering from a terrible memory leak (because, SST allocates lots of memory to hold the N-SPC data) which seems to root deep in the Windows framework itself, causing an access violation error in a piece of code I have no influence at (somewhere in the message handler code of windows) frequently.
The actions I know to always cause a crash are:
- Loading a file via menu or toolbar. Ridiculously, they should call the same piece of code the kbd accel does.
- Changing the loaded file when you already have loaded one.
- Using the DSP simulation more than two times in a row.
- Loading unknown file formats.

I, currently, have no clue how to solve the problem.
[edit] As for this part, it is fixed now. Some more fixes, like for the simulated DSP playback code, are still to come, though.

Despite that, there is actual progress to SST. I managed to find the pattern tables of Star Fox 2 (which, apparently, has an "almost" single-song system which might be quite interesting to have in SMW, too). The track editor works much better now, and there are no scrambled ROMs anymore - well, almost none.
