Hello, my name is Austin Dalgliesh; Diddy is my "online handle" as most people call it. I live in western Canada, and have had the internet for about 3 or 4 years now. I have seen Acmlm's board several times, but I never thought to sign up.. I found this place again this morning and decided to sign up. I make Zelda-like games using a program called Zelda Classic, and I'm also into mIRC scripting. I'm hoping to meet new people while I'm here.

EDIT: after a bit of tinkering, I figured out how to add categories/forums.

I have set up a copy of AcmlmBoard v 1.92 on my server, and I think everything is working as it should, as I have a totally plain, but error free index page. How does one add categories/forums to a AcmlmBoard? I could not find an awnser on this board, nor could I figure it out myself. Thanks in advance.

My board url is:
Http://DiddyPZC.no-ip.org/Forums/

My server is acting a bit strange at the moment; I am going to restart it. I will edit this post when it's back online.

EDIT: It's working for me locally; It should work for others now, as well.

EDIT: I have fixed this problem by executing "dump.sql" in phpmyadmin, rather than running the installer. I also moved the place to here: http://diddy.omegnet.net/Acmlm/

After reading dan's post, I noticed that my version isn't the latest (how noobish of me) and so I downloaded the latest, edited dbinfo.php and config.php like your supposed to, and no matter what I do, I get these errors returned from the setup file:

Warning: main(/lib/dbinfo.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\server\xampp\htdocs\Acmlm\lib\config.php on line 11

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/lib/dbinfo.php' (include_path='.;C:\server\xampp\php\pear\') in C:\server\xampp\htdocs\Acmlm\lib\config.php on line 11

Can you think of anything that I might have done wrong? Thanks in advance.

after going through that thread numerous times, and checking everything, I can't seem to find anything that hasn't been fixed already in the archive I downloaded; I'm going to try a fresh download of new copy on a different server, perhaps I'll get lucky

By default, Acmlmboard resizes all user pictures to 60 in width (even for admins/owners in threads); I want to change this to 150 in width. Where is the value stored in PMA?

(wow, I sure do post here alot.. I'm not sure if thats a good or a bad thing.. )

I had this problem too.. I didn't even notice the problem until some IE users noticed it

Once you manage to register, navigate to "boardconfig.php"; It's in the main board folder. set the "base board URL" in there to your AcmlmBoards root directory, and the links should be fixed

If theres absolutely no way that you can register through the board, go into PhpMyAdmin, get to your boards database, click users in the list, click insert, and enter the info that you need to. Instead of a password, put "81dc9bdb52d04dc20036dbd8313ed055" in password. this should set your password to "1234".

hmm.. I'm not sure what to do then.. I was using firefox, which for some reason seemed to use the links correctly, and I didn't even know of the problem until an IE using friend reported it .

*waits for someone with more skill then himself to show up*

..

heh. watch me try and figure that out over the next hour.. Thanks yet again, Randy53215

EDIT: I managed to get the link to work just fine, although as for remaking the "irc.php" file found on this server, I'm having absolutely no luck..

Could someone show me exatly how to build an "irc.php"? I'm quite a php noob.

Posted on 04-18-05 01:26 AM, in OK I don't know what these errors mean [Acmlmboard 1.A2] Link
First of all, make sure you have a MySQL database, and all the necessary login stuff for a board to use. Then, you must edit the "dbinfo.php" file in the "lib" folder, and place this information in the right place. While your there, you might want to take a look inside "config.php" file in the same folder, and change what you have to so that it matches what you want. After that you have to go to "setup.php" in your web browser.

If this sounds too complicated to you, just send me a private message and I'll try to explain what you have to do a bit simpler.

I hope this helps.

Posted on 04-24-05 09:29 AM, in Moving my board,new server being stubborn Link
I have to move my board to a different server, so I'm trying to get a fresh install of AcmlmBoard 1.A2 running. I've tried everything; even running "dump.sql" from PMA "this worked for me last time."

Anyway, the board index gives me these errors:

Warning: main(/home/devacmlm/webroot/lib/protector.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\diddy\TI\lib\function.php on line 8

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/devacmlm/webroot/lib/protector.php' (include_path='.;c:\apachefriends\xampp\php\pear\') in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\diddy\TI\lib\function.php on line 8

I also get these errors from setup.php:

Warning: main(/lib/dbinfo.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\diddy\TI\lib\config.php on line 11

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/lib/dbinfo.php' (include_path='.;c:\apachefriends\xampp\php\pear\') in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\diddy\TI\lib\config.php on line 11

These errors are different from the previous ones I concieved, so I don't think older topics would help me much..

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Edit: If you would like to see the errors for yourself, please click here.

Yes, it's working fine on the previous server just fine, and will be for quite some time, if I can't resolve this (we don't have to move, but my host would highly prefer it)

A fresh 1.A2? Make sure to add in that line that Jesper posted, for config.php

Those errors look familar to what I had, so maybe you just forgot to add in that extra line.

Extra line? I'll look around, but i've never heard of such a thing..

Edit:Just checked with my host; no, he's not running PHP in safe mode

I'm trying to make an arcade area for my AcmlmBoard, Twilight Ice. I don't plan to finish this fo a while, but heres what I's like to get working right now:

I'm trying to make an "arcade.php" I'n trying to make it so when you go to it, you get a menu of available games in the board tables.. I think I have that part down.

What I don't know how to do is, I'd like it so that accessing arcade.php?game=1 would bring up the first flash game, arcade.php?game=2 would bring up the second and so on.

How would I make such a variable work in that way?

I have an idea about how this is supposed to be done, but because of my nonexistant php skills, I messed up on my first try

I have the following for arcade.php:

The php starting tag in the code does not have the spaces, they are added here so that all of the code shows up properly.

< ? php
require 'lib/function.php';
$nopriv=1;
require 'lib/layout.php';
print $header;
$null = "";
if(!$_GET['game']){
$content="Main page test.";
}
if($_GET['game']==1){
$content="arcade.php?game=1 test";
}
if($_GET['game']==2){
$content="arcade.php?game=2 test";
}
if($_GET['game']==3){
$content="arcade.php?game=3 test";
}
print "
$tblstart
echo "$content";
$tblend";
}
}
print $footer;
printtimedif($startingtime);
?>

I get the following error from going to the page by itself, or game=1, game=2 e.t.c.

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/zcworld/public_html/ti/arcade.php on line 20

line 20 is where it should echo the $content.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? Thanks.

Posted on 05-10-05 05:11 AM, in Flash Embedding. Link
I could of just edited last post on my previous topic and presented this new issue, but I have a much better chance of people noticing it if I start a new topic..

I need to embed a flash file into the arcade.php file I am working on. This code is valid in a standard HTML document: (I put in spaces to keep it from working in this post)

< embed src="Http://ti.zcworld.net/swftemp/mariotetris3ibpg.swf" width=640 height=480 > < /embed >

however, it tells me have an unexpected T_STRING on line 11 (the HTML I just showed you) when I try to use it in my arcade.php file.

is there an alternate code I must use to have it embed into the php file as it would in a HTML document?
