Bio, that's not going to help if he can't download the file in the first place.

I had a similar problem back when I used IE. Every once in a while, if I clicked "open file" instead of "save to disk," WinZip would open with a blank archive, and the name of the file I tried to download in the title bar, but with [1] appended to the end. I think it's just an odd bug in IE's file-caching system or something.

Try downloading the file to a folder (or the desktop) and opening it from there. If you're already doing that, then I really don't know what to tell you...

Uh, do you know any ASM? If not, you're not going to get any use at all out of this patch.

I would suggest you wait until d4s releases his HDMA system.

That would be entirely pointless.

Aside from the separate Luigi sprites, SMAS+SMW has nothing that SMW by itself doesn't have (and I'm willing to bet that the code for Luigi's graphics could easily be ported to the standalone SMW ROM)...so why do people still insist on using it?

Read the help file. Read the stickies. Play around with the editor a bit. THEN come back here and post something a little more specific.

Fu's already stated in the past that he has no plans to release the source code.

Anything it doesn't currently do can always be implemented in a separate tool.

Pardon my ignorance, but what in the world is an "e-Reader sprite?"

Try being a little more descriptive.

Alright, that's it. I'm throwing out my clunky HDMA code in favor of d4s' über-sexy system, as long as it's not too hard to implement the custom scrolling effects I'm currently using.

You're not missing anything. They're just pictures of the Japanese SMW box (front and back), the cart, a pirate NES cartridge, and a "Super Mario Bros. 4" game watch (I had one as a kid, pretty neat, though not incredibly fun).

I don't see what any of these pictures have to do with the current topic...

I have a 19" ViewSonic, and I'm very happy with it. Anything bigger would just seem like overkill (and probably wouldn't fit in the monitor space on my desk anyway).

Posted on 09-02-05 02:48 PM, in Nondescript titles and threads (READ ME NOW) Link
Okay, I'm certain this has been posted before, but I guess I need to explain it again. There are WAY too many nondescript threads and thread titles clogging up this forum. Examples:

"I need to know..."
Nondescript title. It says nothing about the question inside. ANY question could have this title.

"Do you upload ItemFix.IPS this post?"
Nondescript post. What is ItemFix.IPS? What does it do? Most of us have never even heard of it.

This needs to stop, particularly the nondescript thread titles. What if, sometime in the future, somebody needs the information in your post? Do you honestly think they're going to be able to find your thread if it has a useless title like "NEED HELP!?"

I'm going to start editing thread titles and closing/deleting threads that fail to meet these guidelines. There is simply too much useful information disappearing into the shadows, and because nobody can find it amongst the endless sea of old topics, the same questions are getting asked OVER and OVER again.

Thread titles can be up to 100 characters long. Posts can be...uh...much, much larger. Make good use of the space! Be descriptive!

Ah...I have an A90f+. If I'm not mistaken, yours is a "Graphics Series" monitor, and thus is a couple of steps above mine, capability-wise (mine's "all-purpose," I guess). I can go up to 1600x1200, but only at 60Hz. Not that I ever go above 1024x768@100Hz anyway...

Hey, spiffy! So, I could create a module to quickly enable or disable Super Mario World's various debugging features (amongst other things)?

Ooooh, or maybe a module that contains all sorts of settings for enemy projectiles, jump heights, sound effects, and the like. It would be much easier to update with new data than an ordinary executable...

Surlent: try removing the http:// from the address. Mine just says www.angelfire.com, and it works fine.
