Video games. My room is literally full of games and assorted accessories/systems, as well as the insides of a Street Fighter II arcade cabinet and assorted game boards (the cabinet itself is in the shed--no room for it).

It's nice to have some valuable stuff to sell if I ever find myself deeply in debt...though I hope I never get to that point...

Uh, what's the RRH on the title screen stand for? Raven Rom Hacks? I've been using "RRH" in my hacks for several years now (for "RuSteD ROM Hacks"), so you might want to change that...

It's simply a matter of remapping colors elsewhere in the palette, which most people apparently a) don't want to do or b) don't know how to do. I'm certain there are enough available background colors to insert graphics from just about any game without screwing up the status bar (c'mon, it only uses a few colors!). It just takes a little more work.

I don't think so. Those gradients use less than 16 colors, thus they could easily be implemented as tiles. I think that's why "MARIO" looks so bad in a couple of those shots...very similar colors right next to each other.

The original block code replaces the actual block with a blank, solid tile and spawns a "bouncing block" sprite (the slightly lighter block you see on top). When the sprite drops back down, it replaces the blank tile with a "used" tile and deletes itself. My guess is the new code somehow isn't capable of doing that like the original is, so the block is left behind. You could probably fix it by patching the original code to check for certain tile numbers when hit and changing the block it spawns accordingly, but don't ask me how...

Word of advice: DON'T put all your text inside a separate frame with scrollbars. It's really annoying and unnecessary, especially for those of us with wheel mice (the frame snags the cursor's focus and stops the page from scrolling).

I am very far from understanding how sprites work. I figured out how to spawn them via a custom routine earlier this year (before the board crash), and found Chuck's HP routine, but that's about it. We're nowhere near being able to create our own from scratch yet.
