Hi! I'm a noob who's never used a message board before. I'm obsessed with cows, and have been since the age of 6. I like Super Mario World hacks, and am working on one of my own (albeit slowly). I'm also 14 and can ramble on like a babbling idiot. Like I'm doing now. If I do anything stupid, it's an accident, seeing as how I've never used a message board before. Just wanted to introduce myself to you all.

Does anyone have a walkthrough for Super Demo World: the Legend Continues? I know one exists, but I haven't been able to find it. I've been stuck at 98 goals for a very, very long, painful time, and STILL haven't been able to find any more goals. I think I'm missing some sort of Big Boo's Castle level, because that was hinted to in quite a few places, and I'm still unable to find it. If anyone can tell me where it is and end this frustration, I'd really appreciate it.

Would you be able to tell me what I'm missing? I got all of the switch palaces, I believe I got all of star road, I have all of the secret levels stemming from other levels with red dots, and I have all of the secret exits in castles. Is there a secret exit in Pipe Fortress? Where is the hidden Boo hideout? What about the star poem in Bowser's Castle? What does all this mean!?!?!?!

No, I meant the walkthrough for Super Demo World: The Legend Continues. I'm stuck in that game, and have no idea on how to continue. It's really frustrating.

Is there any way to make the 'Goal Point Question Sphere' (sprite 4A in Lunar Magic) a standard sprite instead of a Tileset Specific sprite? Although I'm a noob, I actually bothered to look around for a while to see if anyone said anything about this, and I couldn't find anything.

Yeah, I'm a noob. I have no idea how to do that, and although I could figure it out over my entire spring break, would you mind telling me either how to do that or point me to some sort of tutorial or another thread telling me how to do so?

Just taking a wild guess here; I just saw a movie on smallpox, so I though that might have something to do with it. The two men and the dead person in the bag are bioterrorists. The dead man was infected with smallpox. They left his body in the bag and infected themselves with the disease. When they saw a stranger, they ran up to meet him in order to infect him, and thus spread the disease (this would also make the bag unnecessary).

As much as I'd love to play your incredibly well-done hack, there's a problem (at least for me). When I beat the first level, the overworld animation for the paths becomes completely messed up. When I checked your overworld (thanks for not locking your hack), all of the tiles that would normally be paths have been replaced by very random bits and pieces of...stuff... Can you fix this? (if it's not a problem with the patch, then can somebody help me out?)

Aargh!!! The IPS patch still doesn't work properly for me. I'm not increasing the game speed while using ZSNES, and I can't figure out why it's not working. The levels work fine, but the overworld tiles are just all messed up. And I don't mean to sound annoying or mean, but the overworld paths on my rom are just random bits of colour (think something pixeled out, like Janet Jackson should have been). If you meant your paths to be just random bits of colour, then I'm fine with that, but if they're meant to look like the paths from every single other hack I've seen, someone needs to make a new IPS patch for me.....please? I really want to play this......

Don't worry; a lot of people have this problem. I take it to an extreme; I've been working on my hack for about 8 months and I only have one overworld and four levels, and the overworld is just absolutely horrible. If you could make the levels in ZTaimat World and make that overworld, then you can finish it. Try taking a break from hacking for a month, then go back to it. You'll find you have tons of fresh new ideas (that's what I'm doing now, and I have a three-page long list of ideas I've come up with). If you remain frustrated after even longer, then yes, I suggest working with others to create a joint hack (I've wanted to do that for a while because my overworld design is horrible). In fact, if you want me to, I would be happy to work make levels (since, once again, I can't hack anything else well) for your approval, even though your level design is really good to begin with.

Damn it! I'm rambling again.

Here in the Southwest, gas prices have shot from $1.60 to $2.49 over the course of one year. However, driving west on Interstate 10, the number of massive solar panel arrays and electric windmill farms have skyrocketed in such great numbers that now, during most of the drive, all I see are solar panels and windmills. In fact, I even saw what appeared to be (I'm not sure, because I was half asleep) a large number of windmills with solar panel coatings. This seems to be a good sighn and could also help slow down the gas cost spiral, but we need large, fairly permanent sources of energy. Why not tap solar wind? There's tons of hydrogen streaming off the sun. Couldn't someone create a hydrogen energy source that doesn't require our limited sources of platium? Also, I know absolutely nothing about geothermal energy, but why isn't that used much outside of Iceland (I think it's Iceland, but I don't know anything about geothermal energy or the countries that use it). It seems to me that there are a great many alternative energy sources, but that everyone in power ignores them.

For some reason, the BGs don't look like what I remember from playing those games on the SNES. Are these from the GBA versions? Still, this is a really good idea. I'm voting for Bramble Blast, Ghostly Grove, Kong Fused Cliffs, and Slip Slide Ride.

Posted on 04-17-05 07:21 AM, in Adding more overworlds and submaps Link
I know everything's pretty much possible with ASM, but I, being a newbie, need an answer to the following question: Is it possible, through ASM, to add more overworlds and submaps? For example, in the normal game, there is one overworld and six submaps. Would it be possible to increase the number of submaps and overworlds to, let's say, two overworlds and nine submaps? Also, would it be possible to increase the maximum limit for pipes and stars, as well as increasing the allotted area for 6x6 event tiles and 2x2 map tiles (I don't know what they're called- I'm referring to the path pieces underneath the 6x6 tiles). I'm probably going to be lightly flamed for this, but I'd really appreciate it if anyone could answer these questions for me so I know if I should start learning ASM over summer break.

Do the SMB 3 Racoon. I tried to do it a fairly long time ago, but my computer crashed and most of my files got corrupted.

What? The FuSoYa honors me with a response!? [brain swells]. Must...learn...ASM...if...FuSoYa...says...possible...[brain explodes]. But seriously, thanks for the information. I've wanted to do this since I first played Super Mario World on the SNES in 1994 (I was really young), and I don't care how long it takes to learn ASM or how hard it is to learn ASM, but I will do this so help me God.

This is a health, FOOD, and fitness thread, right?

Fitness
I love food, and when I was around eight years old, I used to eat more than my parents. I wasn't obese, or even that much overweight, but now that I'm fourteen, and that I eat less, but more frequently, I'm in much better shape. I excersize at least three times a day, for more than two hours, and I find that's really helped (although I still have baby fat).

Food (I'm a food enthusiast)
For a long time now (two years ago), I've been reading different books by a Dr. Andrew Weil. Ever since I started following his advice, I've been in a much better mood, I've had a lot more energy, my constant headaches are gone, etc. on the testimonials. Some interesting tidbits of information I found on his website (www.drweil.com): Your body handles dark chocolate (70% or higher) like it handles olive oil, meaning that it lowers bad cholesterol and raises good cholesterol, and that it has very low saturated and polyunsaturated fat levels (it's mostly monounsaturated, the heart-healthiest kind). Also, all of the japanese mushrooms (maitake, shiitake, enokidake, mo-er) have different immune-boosting effects. Every time I feel a cold coming on, I make myself a soup with all those mushrooms, tofu, turmeric, galangal, ginger, garlic, and austragulus and burdock roots, and my symptoms disappear. Check out this doctor's website (I know I sound like one of those annoying testimonial people on TV infomercials, and I hate doing that, but I feel the need to share).
And by the way, I cook every one of my meals from scratch, and I don't let my parents get in the way.

Health
Key elements that keep me healthy:
1. Constant excersize
2. More meals in much smaller sizes
3. Austragulus, echinacea, goldenseal root, shiitake, maitake, enokidake, mo-er, ginger, galangal, turmeric, bay leaf, lemongrass, garlic, onion, habanero pepper.
4. Avoid all forms of processed/fast food, including, but not limited to:
TV dinners
Canned food
Fast food
Instant soups/mashed potatoes
Anything you didn't cook from scratch
5. Homeopathic medicine works

I'm making a recipe book for my own personal use, filled with recipes made specifically to modify mood, health, energy, etc. If anyone has any tasty recipes for food or desserts, PM them to me.

I don't tend to talk about these things; none of my friends are interested. I like to:
Cook (see General Chat, Food/Health/Fitness thread)
Garden
Raise Koi (I like fish because I'm a swimmer too)
Clean up the house
Do household chores/maintenance
Landscape
Rearrange furniture
Create floorplans for houses
Interior design
Creating new languages and alphabets
Seeing how much I can read in one day (so far, 6,392 pages)
Reading upside-down
Correcting people's grammar
Listening to, arranging, and composing classical music
Imagine and design roller coasters
Sedate myself with clove oil (really freaking wierd)
COWS!!!!!!

Obviously, some of these are considered stereotypically female, but I like to do them anyway. A lot of these are just plain wierd, and I understand that. Also, I'm having a very off day today and feel like showing one of the many faces of cows.

I don't know about other parts of the world, but just so everyone knows, here in the US and Canada, April 20th is unofficially National Marijuana Day/National Smoke Pot Day/National Weed Day/National Ditch and Smoke Day . I don't plan on doing any such thing- I have a fairly strong anti- mind-altering drug stance. Any thoughts/comments on this bizzare day?

Wow, 4/20. I remember last year at my old Junior High (MIddle School for some people)... Out of a class of 650 people, 200 showed up . That tells you something. Anyways, I don't smoke pot, and I don't plan to, but I have no problem with people who do, as long as they don't drive while fried. Today at school, some of my classes were right against the bathroom, so we were evacuated because of the strong pot smell coming into the room. Over 40 people were arrested (not surprising in a school built for 2,000 but with 2,600), and everywhere you went, people were going nuts, spraying graffiti, and lighting spray-deodorant on fire. Is anyone else's school this bad!? (It was kinda fun, though.)
