You're in a hole man, stop digging, cause you're just making yourself out to be more and more of an idiot every time you post.

I've decided that I'll release one last version of SMBDX to fix all of the bugs and make some minor adjustments (the music for example, once SST is released). So if people could kindly reported all of SMBDX's bugs and glitches here, I'd really appreciate it, and I'll do my best to fix them. Thanks in advance.

Also, I was thinking of replacing Cape Mario with Raccoon Mario, should I?

There are two 1-1s and two 3-4s. Could you be more specific AP? Does anybody else have any suggestions or glitches to report?

so yeah, i'm gonna take a break from ROM Hacking for a while, cause i just don't have that much time anymore. These are the last few screens i'll be showing for a while.

i've done everthing before Sea Side 3, and I've built a few of SMA4's e-levels, so take a look at the 30 or so screens.

Grass Land:

Desert Hill:

Sea Side:

Big Island 1:

Vegetable Volley:

Chill Cavern:

Frapp© Snowland:

So how do they look?

And oh yeah, Here are the old screenshots: http://board.acmlm.org/thread.php?id=10504

no, they're SMA4's e-coins.

It's kind of interesting how you start off with SMB3 levels, but then change into something different. ie: Vegetable Volley, Chill Cavern, Frappe (I guess that's what it is) Snowland isn't in SMB3.

But in either case, I'm looking forward to playing this game.

Those are 3 of SMA4's 37 extra levels.

yes.

I know you have the E-reader levels but you should include the 15 lost levels in your hack

maybe, maybe not.

I was just wondering if you have used any HDMA effects in any of those screen shots.

no, i don't need to.

Hey, Peter_ac, would you like to rip off my SMB3TLL hack.

no, i didn't like your level design.

Although this looks okay, I think I'll pass on playing it. I've played the SMB3 levels enough to keep me satisfied for a long time.

who gives a fuck?

Excuse the bump, but I'm surprised nobody has asked this before:

why doesn't it work with a hdma rom that has been expanded to 2048kb?

I started a HDMA rom and transferred everthing over from SMB1, and once I imported the ExGFX, the ROM expanded from 1024 to 2048. Then I renamed it to smw.smc, removed the header etc, but the linker said that the filesizes don't match, and smw_hdma wasn't created.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Also, those instructions for creating new colour gradients are close to impossible to follow. Could somebody please give me simplified instructions to create the blue colour gradient identical to that in SMAS SMB1? Thanks.

And how can i do that without using up a scanline? setting the scanline count to $00 terminates the gradient, so how can i write 3 table entries to the same scanline?

how can i make red, green and blue increase by 8 in one entry?

11100001 just makes all 3 go to 8, it doesn't add it on to the original color.

Please help me with this.

I'm torn between two minds about what to do with three of my hacks, namely SMB1, SMBTLL, and SMBDX.
Should I:

1. Keep SMBDX as it is, but make minor upgrades (proposed v1.2). Release SMB1 with TLL and SMB1.5 in three seperate hacks with full overworlds, SMB1 GFX and HDMA effects.

Note: SMB1 and TLL will be strictly as close as possible to the SMAS version, which means no snow, rain etc. (the point of these games is so they can be used like an SMAS SMB and TLL editor).
SMB1.5 will have all new levels, and SMB1 GFX.

-OR-

2: Forget about SMB1, TLL, and SMB1.5. Split SMBDX into SMB1DX and TLLDX, add a full overworld to each one, add some new levels to SMB1DX, change music and make other minor upgrades, and use SMB3 GFX like I did in SMBDX.

Note: SMB1DX and TLLDX can vary a lot from the SMAS versions., and unlike the SMBDX I previously released, these games will not be level select, you will need to finish one level to advance to the next.

Personally, I would rather choice no.2, but what do you think?

I'm guessing it would just require a custom block to write 2 (possibly more) bytes to RAM.
