new levels?

well the whole game can hold 95 levels.
minus 1 for yoshi's house (ending)
minus 32 for the levels i already have.

that makes 62. Yup, 62 new levels are going into the game!

The original worlds will be expanded, and a LOT of new worlds will be added.

And in SMBTLL:
95 - 1 - 52 = 42 new levels.

i'm not releasing either until i finish smb AND smbtll.

and those tll maps are quite hard to use, so it could be a while.

Well as you all know i'm remaking all of the SMAS games in SMW. It will be some time before i'm finished all four, but when i DO finish, i'm going to do a remake of Yoshi's Island. Yup, that's right, all of YI's levels and GFX, and it will play like a normal Mario game with fire flowers etc. Plus some extra levels of course.

here's a shot of the OW:



worlds 1 and 2 are on the top
world 4 is below w1
worlds 5 and 7 are on the top left submap
world 3 is on the bottom left submap
world 6 is on the bottom right submap.

worlds 8 and C will be put on the main map (grassland)
worlds 9 and F will be put on the top right submap (raining)(yes, it rains on the map too!)
World-e will be put on the middle left submap
worlds D and 0 will be on the middle right submap (redlands)
world A will be put below w6 (night & grass)
world B will be put below w3 (night & snow)

so what do you guys think?

i'm putting 2 worlds on each submap.

the rain in the top right submap will be animated, and the water is animated.

How do they look?

Well actually it's 6 levels: 5+castle. Those extra two in each world will be similar in graphical theme, and difficulty to the levels around them. The old levels, in a lot of cases will be renamed to eg. castle: WORLD 1-6

I saw it as a bump, since i haven't posted an update in about a month, and he didn't really contribute anything to the discussion. Anyway, threads usually get closed after being bumped, and i don't want to see THIS one get closed, so lets just let it slowly fall down a bit until i'm ready to make another update.

That world 9 is gonna be in my Lost Levels hack like it was in SMAS.

In SMB1, it's a rain world, where it rains on the submap too.

@chibi: no, they don't throw hammers, it's just a Rex. They're animated like the hammer bros though (ie they walk the exact same).

There are 16 worlds in each game (SMB1 and SMBTLL). the worlds are: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F,0

And with 6 levels in each of the 16 worlds, that's 96 levels. i can use 94 right now, but i might be able to use Level 104 (Yoshi's house) and level 0 (bonus game) as levels too, sice they're both accessible from the Overworld.

Oh sorry, i didn't play much of DKC2, my mistake. And i also wanna say i'm very impressed that you're able to rip all of these GFX. When i opened these games with YY-CHR, everything was scrambled and i couldn't see a thing! Well done man.

I don't think you're horrible Really??? Well Fu, i think DW:TLC is one of those games just like Mortal Kombat 3. It's timeless! Okay MK3 isn't as good as now as it was when it was released, but it'll always go down in history as an excellent game, as will DW:TLC.

@JJ: since i didn't make the levels originally, i don't have to worry about sounding cocky in saying that the new levels i'm putting in are excellently designed. you won't be disappointed. @shadic: i'm glad ya like them. your SMB is packed full of great levels, and a lot of them will be used in my hack! The same goes to Googie and Frank15!
