I found this while doing some browsing tonight... This ranks up there with the "I'm Sephiroth!" image that I can't get my hands on anymore.

oh dear god, nerds are taking over the planet...

*ahem*

First step: Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds & Multimedia (ME probably has it named differently.)

Click on the "Audio" tab, check to see what is set to do the output. (You'll have a choice between Microsoft Sound Mapper and your sound card, if it applies.)

Second step: The speaker icon in the taskbar... Make sure that the master volume (Play Control) isn't muted or turned all the way down. Next check "Wave" and check for the same things.

If sound still does not work.

Third step: Right click on My Computer -> Properties. Find a "Hardware" tab and click on "Device Manager." Scroll down to your sound drivers, and click on "Properties." Under "driver," check to see if it says "device is working properly." If it doesn't, click on "Update driver" and update the driver. Reboot.

If all else fails, then that's bad... I don't know what else to suggest.

--Edit--
Last resort, check the volume of the speakers *shot*

Frog will always be a frog, Magus was giving up Glenn's hopes I guess. Personally, I always take Magus as a character.

As for the NewGame+, you need to do the following:
  • Complete the desert scenario in 600 AD. To trigger, in Zeal's Palace (pre-collapse) or the village (post-collapse) in 12,000 BC, find a person that is by a plant. They'll ask for your opinion about the plant, whether to burn it or plant it. Plant it, then a sinkhole will be in the giant desert in 600 AD. Kill Retinite, and use Robo to restore the forest.
  • Get the Rainbow Shell in 600 AD. First, find Toma in a pub near the southeast corner of the map. He'll say something like "if I ever die, pour this on my tombstone." Head to 1000 AD and head to Toma's Grave, on that same continent. He'll then tell you about Giant's Claw, which is where the Rainbow Shell is. Have fun with tougher monsters from the Tyranno Lair! (It's actually not that hard).
  • Head for the source of the machines in 2300 AD. There's a factory in 2300 AD on a very small island. Robo must be the leader, fairly straight-forward area.
  • Get the Sun Stone, all ages. In 2300 AD, there's a "Sun Shrine" (mountain area on a small area), but before you even think about it...you should get Fire absorbing gear (Red Mail in Guardia Castle, 1000 AD, if you get a Red Vest, you need to upgrade it), the Red Vest in Guardia Castle, 600 AD (after you get the Red Mail), and whatever else that you can get your hands on that'll reduce Fire elemental. (Bad sentence structure!) Head in, face Son of Sun. The fight is a guessing game, but if everyone is absorbing fire, you'll never die (unless his shadow laser one-hit kills you). One of the five little fire's is the random "it," and when you hit "it" with physical attacks (and only physical attacks), Son of Sun will take damage. After this fight, take the Sun Stone to 65,000,000 BC, and go to the mountain in the northeast corner of the map. Place the stone. Head to 2300 AD, notice the stone missing (this must happen), then head to 1000 AD, and notice it missing again. The mayor's house of the town south of Guardia (forgot the name) will have the stone. Talk to him about it. If he won't give it, head to the cafe. Buy the Jerky for 10,000 G. Head to 600 AD, and a lady will notice you have it. Give, not sell the jerky. Now claim your stone. Place stone back in mountain, get in 2300 AD (have Lucca in party).
  • The Trial of King Guardia in 1000 AD. Marle must be in the party, and you can only do this after you get the Rainbow Shell. Head to Guardia castle, and head for the trial room. Follow the sequence of events, return to the trial room. Face Yakra XIII, kill Yakra XIII. After the fight, you'll get the choice of 3 Rainbow Helms or 1 PrismDress. TAKE THE PRISM HELMS! You'll also get the PrismSpecs and Rainbow if you already got the Sun Stone.
  • Letting a friend rest in peace, in 600 AD. Southeast continent, in the Inn. Talk to one of the people, he'll say his tools are missing. Head to 1000 AD, Inn. talk to one of the customers. You should be able to get the tools. Head for his house, talk to his wife. Receive the tools. Back to 600 AD, head for the castle up north. Bring in someone that knows Fire 2. Left side. Eliminate the battles (don't collect the treasure chests yet). Head for the Inn, talk to the tools guy again, he'll notice that you have some. Let him borrow, now head for his house. Take up his offer to repair the ruins. Head back to the ruins. Head back to his house again. Pay the 2000 G to repair the ruins. Now go left again. This time have Frog in the party. Find the tombstone. At this point this particular sidequest is done, but there is more to do in the ruins if you wish. This includes by far the best armor any male character can use (Moon Armor). It's in a sealed chest, just don't open them in 600 AD.
  • Get rid of the Black Omen, 1000 AD, 600 AD, and 12,000 BC. This may seem tedious, but all of your fighting will be done the first time through, which will be in 1000 AD. Afterwards it'll take about 5-10 minutes to run through the whole dungeon again. Proceed through all the bosses, and when you finally get to the end, you'll fight Zeal. In her face + 2 hands portion, make sure you steal (Charm) from all three parts. You'll get a PrismDress, PrismHelm, and MegaElixir in all, so don't pass those up. (It will also complete the set for all 7 characters as well, since Magus has a better helmet). Do the same in 600 AD, then 12,000 BC.
  • Ozzie in 600 AD. By and large the easiest of them all (kinda). The dungeon takes about 3 minutes to complete (including the two initial fights). After you get to the room with one treasure chest and the obvious trap, trigger it, but don't get hit by the trap. Instead, hug the wall on the right side, and go down. *twiddle* Head back and save, because the big fight is kind of annoying if you aren't ready for it. Fight against Great Ozzie, Super Slash, and Flea Plus. It is also the single most experience point giving battle in the game. After this fight, proceed up, complete the very simple final task.

This should complete all requirements to get the NewGame+. Now all you have to do is beat the game!

I've played the PSX and N64 versions. They have some vast differences, number one being that the N64 version only has one Sub-Zero, which has all the moves of both Sub-Zero's. I think they gave him the classic model as well. Don't really remember too well, since it's been way too long. The N64 version also had one insane arcade mode. The first fight was against Kameleon* (female Kitana model, but pink naturally, forgot what her moves were) and every fight up was an endurance match until Shao Kahn. One of them was an endurance match with Kintaro and Goro I think as well. It was only accessible on the hardest difficulty, and was only on the highest ladder to climb. Have fun, I never did get past the third battle.

Overall, I prefer UMK3 to MK3, and PSX MKTrilogy over N64 MKTrilogy, even though they both had their perks.

--Edit--
*: Or maybe it was a male model that uses Scorpion, Sub-Zero, etc and had all of their moves? *shrug* I don't remember!

It was actually two pics, sorry about that. Anyway, the "I'm Sephiroth!" is basically one guy (from Canada, as I've been led to believe) dressed up as Sephiroth, Masamune and all. The Masamune was clearly made of aluminum or something, because the pic of him holding the sword out, it was kind heavy on the end, and was kinda sagging down. =\ The other was just another stance, and didn't really have any signifigance. The pics themselves are about 4 or 5 years old now, and the original source I believe was from the Triton guild boards (was a guild on Everquest), and I would make a post with those at the Omniplay forums. Omniplay has since been taken over, and the wayback machine has no archives of it anymore. It only brings you to the current site now. I even made a post about that very topic at the NGP forums (used to be Omniplay, but it's now NewGamePlus). I was hoping someone would have an idea as to what I was talking about, but only Rubicant responded.... Anyway, that's the story.

I'm not implying he's a bad actor. I'm implying that every B movie he makes is a worthless piece of shit. Wait, that's insulting shit... Umm, you get the idea. 99% of every B movie he has made has been on the Sci-Fi channel, and all of them sucked. Half the time, he wasn't the star, so it's probably not him. And if you imply to come here and cockslap me, then I imply that I move away and find a better place to live.

I loved the game to death, trust me, but ugh.

It's because Diablo II, Warcraft III, and World of Warcraft don't have that rare mystic air that a true classic has. Starcraft will have the following it does for at least another 10 years, even more so if Starcraft: Ghost bombs.

I still love Starcraft, and I will continue to play it (not religiously, but on occasion) from time to time.
