| Yikes... way too long to post, so here is a conversation between XcomGS and myself (with a little bit of Parasyte` mixed in) in #rom-hacking (back off Erk). XcomGS has visited the channel a few times wanting to know if anyone knows PHP (of course, plenty do). It then turned into him ranting, kinda. It came down to Xcom wanting someone else to build his site for him, because he doesn't want to learn PHP. Read and draw your own conclusions...this was too funny to pass up. (And yes, I'm not that nice.) |

| OGG, and I'll tell you why: 1) Sounds exactly the same as MP3 2) Overall better quality than MP3 3) OPEN SOURCE! No royalties, completely public domain. I'm in the (long) process of converting the majority of my MP3's (good gig and a half of em), and I've already saved 460 megs. I'm about half done converting as is. There's two downsides: 1, burning software does not yet recognize it as audio; 2, CD, DVD, and other suchs players do not yet know the format, so it's basically a PC only format for the time being. My two cents... |

| here's two codes for Tetris...the one Nintendo made GESENLSE: the next block is unknown OZXPOSOK: music always plays fast paced (doesn't work until the first block is placed) thanks to DD for figuring this one out. This should make playing Tetris a tad bit harder...  |

| Even with no display driver installed, the card should still output a very crappy signal to the connected monitor. You should be able to see the desktop, and install a driver for it. What OS are you running? In any event, try disabling the onboard video, and reconnect the monitor to the geforce. |

| I can assure you, an ISO will not make the game run faster. It's an emulated game for a system that can't handle it. It will run even slower on the drive, because it still follows the logic of the real system. You're better off the SNES rom. | |||

I was looking forward to CT on the PS, but I was very disappointed. It's basically CT emulated on the PS.  Those loading times can't be corrected at all, no matter what. Hell, the PS2 couldn't do anything about it. And if his machine isn't supberb to emulate the PS, it'll be even worse. Good question, yes. I'm just stating the facts. =\BTW, comparing the CT port to the FF1 & 2 remake isn't a good choice. Origins was designed with the playstation in mind. (Which is why loading times are nil) FF4, FF5, FF6, and CT were not. (FF Anthology and Chronicles) Use this information well, joshgames. The CT port only has a couple of things that the SNES version does not... 13 small CG's (framerate isn't the best either) Frog's full theme in the soundtest, but normal length in game. Added verse to the boss music. Most music sounds like crap compared to the SNES version. Non-updated graphics. Notes on ending's you've unlocked. If you're willing to put up with the loading time, then it's probably worth it. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. |
