I've now heard they're sending a large number of people who can't leave the city to.. the Superdome? I don't understand why.
They don't know that it will be strong enough to withstand what I've heard on TV as "The strongest Hurricane to hit the United States." What if the roof collapses, or water is able to get in? Sounds pretty dangerous to me.. but hopefully the people inside stay safe.

Posted on 08-29-05 06:45 AM, in How do you deal with fear and nervousness? Link
I get freaked out very easily by things that most people aren't affected by. I can't handle horror movies, partly because of how I'll think about it for weeks, months afterwards, and partly because of the gore. The gore is what really gets to me, though. I have Panic Disorder, which only really hits me when I see a graphic movie (Saving Private Ryan is what started all this.. I passed out watching it, went to the doctor because the feeling didn't stop, and was diagnosed with PD), read a graphic novel (All Quiet on the Wester Front, example), or simply let my mind get too worked up to the point that I panic and lose control. Since this started (December last year), I've only passed out from it twice, however I've felt the effects of losing control numerous times. I know that, for the most part, PD is a mindgame that I have to overcome, but I'm not quite there yet. So I deal with fear, whether I like it or not, by panicking until I'm able to alter my thoughts to better things.

flame me in your custom title lol
Knock it off Keikonium. First off, posting off topic in this forum is spam, speaking that way about me, hidden message or not, is a direct flame (to a staff member, no less) about something that has NOTHING to do with this board. Grow up and think before you do something stupid.

On topic.
Today sucks ACSwise. Hopefully I can get a few points, but I have a bit of cushion for this. As long as school doesn't kill me next week, I'll be okay. I hope.
But Fabio, be proud that your second month here you're doing so well. I've been here almost a year and this is the first time I've placed in the top three. Last month is the first time I placed in a notable position at all. You're doing good.

Accutane... I wouldn't count on what your doctor said there. That research isn't very well backed, because one major thing was overlooked: People on accutane, for the most part, have severe acne that could already affect them mentally. I'm sure for most cases, it does. Then these people go on this medicine, and their mental behavior is taken note of, and the medicine gets the bad name.
I'm almost positive this is the case, but.. of course I can't be certain.

I get an average of about 6 hours of sleep a night during school. Sundays are the only day I get to sleep in at least a little, but it still sucks. School makes me lose too much sleep.

They're saying it could go offcourse to the east.. and it would be much better hitting Mississippi, where it's less damage because there's not a city like New Orleans sitting there below sea level. Even now, when it's so close to land, they're saying not to doubt that it could easily go off the predicted track.
I'm assuming that would be a good thing?

10 points for Dracoon.
That is pretty much the only part of that movie I clearly remember.

I think that's the most important thing in this. You wouldn't royally screw yourself over with school just to try and prove your mom wrong.. you learned a thing or two from your sister's mistakes, I'm sure.

They haven't gotten a bad hurricane before. Certainly not this strong. And this storm is being called "The worst hurricane to ever hit the United States"... so um, New Orleans doesn't know what's about to hit it.

Yeah, they're getting the heart of this one. 150 mph winds is a major difference from the tropical storm winds that they get from other hurricanes down there. Plus that city is so old.. I don't know how it's going to withstand this.

YD Sez: Well I'm using firefox, and wtf happened. It's like my post merged with yours. I can't reply, and I can't edit my post or anything.

And what I see is a rather large indent on the left, similar to the one in bass's coding thread.
The layout itself looks better, but the "nested quote" is odd looking.. it really stand out.
