The border is like that because you changed some of the graphics when you were making your custom title graphics. I could be more specific if I took the time to find exactly what tiles you should convert back to the originals, but doing some work for yourself is always healthy.

I decided to make a new thread rather than bumping up the older one. As it stands, this one will probably fall off soon anyway because I'm fairly certain that I'm almost finished reworking the candy tilesets.




As you can see, I editted the palettes somewhat. Instead of sticking with the traditional (and cliche, now) Mario scheme of red, yellow, green, and blue, I switched the green with purple and the yellow with orange. I made the background for the warehouse more green, spicing things up there as well. I think the palette changes make things look better, but I could be wrong.

In actual graphic news, I finally changed the graphics for the lollipops, and I think the result is very nice. You might also notice that I actually got around to editting the background for the outdoor candy levels. It's no longer that weirdo isometric view it was before, and it looks tons better because of it. Let me know what you think, because the background is the only thing I would consider actively working on still, at least when talking about the candy tilesets.

See, but that's my point. It doesn't add anything, it doesn't take anything away. And since it seems to piss a lot of people off, there's no real reason to keep it.

PS: There's nothing wrong with trying to justify your reasoning for using it.

Here's the new background with better shading and less stupid innovations.



I've also been toying with the idea of going back and changing those dead conveyor belts in the warehouse. They've never looked right to me, and since I'm reworking everything else, I might as well do them, too.

I was actually thinking about releasing my modified sprite files, but they really aren't changed that much so I don't know if it would be worth it.

Some people like to stick to what they know. I preserve the original GFX in my ROM just because there might come a time where I want them for reference and don't feel like loading up a whole other ROM just to see them.

Sounds like a great idea.

EDIT: Also, maybe some sort of viewer controlled filters, such as only viewing rips, custom jobs, etc.

No, Lunar Magic recalculates the checksum when you save. It doesn't juggle any bytes or something wacky like that. And really, I don't even see why it matters. I don't even think the real SNES cares about a good checksum, let alone emulators.
