You should compact all your different editors into one mega conglomerate program for those of us who like to do all our editting in one place. I don't blame you if you won't do it, though.

Actually, I believe it's two bytes per letter. One for settings such as palette and mirroring, the other for the tile number. Otherwise a simple relative search would pop it up for anyone with rudimentary skills with a hex editor.

To keep the lynch mob off my back, I emailed the new Winter Set to Coby. Now, whether he gets it or not is the question, because I wasn't exactly sure if I remember his email address correctly.

Edit: And I have the graveyard set ready to go, I'll just wait until Coby posts the other one until I send it, just so I can save my time in case I had the email address wrong. Keep in mind, also, that the graveyard set is only half finished with plenty of room for expansion if you want. If not, you can still use it to make complete levels.

Yes, if you want to have a conversation that only a portion of the population is going to understand, take it to PMs. And besides, I don't want to bust out a translator to see if you're breaking any rules.

I see nothing wrong with using someone's hack as a base, so long as they got some credit for any work they did.

Hey, sweet. It's always nice to see new graphics for the title screen. Not many people go through the trouble. Just clean up the fonts some with some shading (though you don't have much to work with in 2BPP, even a little bit helps) and what have you, and you're well on your way.

Nah, writing such a routine is only hard the first time, and that's only if you didn't already know the format to begin with. It should a breeze to rewrite. Or if not, just PM me and I'll help you through it.

Note: That this is only from my experience with Tile Counter. Supposing that I don't stupidly delete it or lose it in a system purge, I can just reuse the custom C++ header file that I use to load my graphics nowadays. I love C++.

The only collisions that matter to the game is when a sprite touches a Layer 1 (or Layer 2, in some levels) object. Everything else is ignored, at least as far as I know.

He used them in Bowser's Castle, if I remember correctly. Other places, too, but it's been a while.

Yeah, I forgot Sprite to Sprite. Silly me. And I consider Mario a sprite, albeit a little more unique than the rest of the bunch.

Seriously, Nad-Gob, knock it off with the pointless responses (and bumping, which is another matter entirely). Do not respond to this message unless you have something more fulfilling to add. If you want to fluff out your post count, do it in someone else's forum.

A plausible explanation I heard on another board about Mario and his freakish tallness is that they wanted Mario to be more regular sized so if you're playing from his eyes you don't feel like a midget.

That castle bit was pretty cool.

And besides the numbers, what other proof is there that this is fake? I don't keep up on console news very well.

A concept that some of us need to understand is that the Xbox is pretty much made to appeal to the lowest common denominator. I think they do a good job doing that, personally. Nearly everyone who games that I know that isn't a hardkore gamuh like myself has or plays the Xbox regularly.

Don't get me wrong, I love the hunk of junk, but then, I love all games equally. I'll play anything if I can find even just a little redeeming value. I juse love my Gamecube more, if only because it has games with characters I grew up with. I'm not sure if I could work up the effort to play some of my games if they didn't have that nostalgia factor.

Work on the background palette some, it's too distracting. I would try lightening it up ever so slightly and narrowing the range of the gradient.
