I editted my post to help, Pete. Try to keep your responses civil, plz, even if for some reason you would like to carry a grudge against me.

Right, so keep it civil. I don't much like you either, but let's keep the boards clean.

And the text is about the easiest text in the world to change, considering it's stored in plain ASCII (besides some simple dictionary compression).

Sure, upload it Ice Man. As soon as I have a working Windows App I plan to send it to Zophar's.

I recently got in the mood to play this one semi-old game I used to play back in the day. It was a strategy game that centers around the lives of cavemen, you gotta get them to hunt, harvest, and all that caveman-esque stuff. It was sprite based, I believe, and had a slight cartoony feel to it. Any help in figuring out what this durn game is would be much appreciated.

Oh yeah, it may or may not have had some sort of caveman type name.

Hmm, no. Populous is more of a war strategy game, isn't it? I guess you could call the game I'm thinking of more of a tycoon game or something similar. Ya know, more of a focus on growth rather than destruction.

It's a isometric game for PC. It may be for other systems, but not that I'm aware of. The Lost Vikings and that Humans game are more puzzles than anything else, the game I'm thinking of is along the same lines as Warcraft or similar games, but with very little focus on combat.

If you use split files, I believe the Mario stuff is in GFX32 or GFX33.

Yeah, you wouldn't think it would be this hard to remember a freakin' game. Let me see if I can make a little list of everything I remember, for quick reference.

- Isometric view
- Cavemen, or some other prehistoric peoples
- Cartoony style
- Strategy game with heavy focus on growth rather than battle
- Maybe a caveman type name.
- PC Game

Not very helpful, I know. But if I could remember anything more than these vague details, I would probably have a better time finding it myself.

It would be a good lesson for any newbie who actually downloads it and checks it out, the only problem is getting them to do it.

I don't think it rotates, I think it just flips it's graphics, which any old sprite can do. What's the sprite code for Bowser's Ball?

I see nothing wrong with what you did, Jei, for the exact reasons you stated.

Skateboarder: Looking nice, try to tone down the brown color you're using for the ledges, though.

The sprite was A1, incidentally.

Bowser's Balls (right click and save as)

A simple graphics change, and zowee! Bowser's Balls in a normal level. They don't exactly have the functionality one would hope for, but that's nothing a little (or a lot) of ASM hacking can't fix.

Sorry about not being clear. Try to mellow the brown down a bit. You should know by now that I'm a big fan of soft, non-intrusive palettes. They just flow more naturally that way.

Are you on AIM right now? I don't see you, which could mean you got removed from my list again. How that keeps happening I'll never know. .

Yes, I'm sure that's my AIM name. I have a closed list, though. I have a tendency to remove people from my list every now and again in periodic list sweeps, and I often remove people I shouldn't.

Okay, this argument has gone on for quite long enough. I think all sides of the debate have made their point of views abundantly clear at this point. If you MUST continue this, please take it to PMs. I would hate to have to close this thread.

In case anyone was wondering, I'm pretty sure it was either Settlers 3 or 4. Thanks a bundle to all that helped ('specially you, Colleen, even though I sorta just passed your suggestion off, ).
