The snow covered tree idea wasn't half bad, so I ran with it. There aren't any tiles at all left in the set for any added objects, so you'll have to work with what you've seen. I also made the night palette.

Keikonium: There isn't a pixel missing there, it just looks like it because of the filter I'm using.

Yeah, it'll be submitted to the workshop. Those treetrunks in the background have always been giving me a headache. I'll have their palette fixed before I submit.

Everything in the night time palette has a blue tinge. It makes the night time effect more convincing than just making all the colors darker. And the lights on the tree already cycle. Compare all the different shots and you'll see.

I have been considering making the snow on the ground less bulbous and more in line with how the snow on the roof looks. Any thoughts? I'll post a screenshot when I get home if you're unsure of how it will look.

Things changed in the picture: The snow is now less like round globs stuck together and more like a cohesive flow of snow. The blue of the snow in the night time palette has been toned down a little. And the tree trunks in the background are now longer pinkish. The set is nearing completion. I want all the kinks worked out before I make the test hack.

That's a real old screen, HH. I don't even use that shoddy palette anymore. Not to mention those primitive lollipops!

It's possible that the routine that displays the tiles would recognize it would need three digits, though I don't know enough about ASM to be sure.

Oh, it's possible. Good luck figuring it out on your own, though, as the only person who knows anything about their format is Fu (probably, someone else might but I doubt it), and there hasn't been much interest in changing them.

The out of focus look is merely a result of the filter I'm using. There's not nearly enough room in the palettes to actually anti-alias something independently.



I fixed the chimney. Anything else that's a glaring error? I also managed to clear up some unused tiles, so if anyone has some ideas to take up some space (about 6 or 7 tiles), let's hear them.

I'm not sure if LM supports exporting the tilemap for the Background or not, as I've never really had much use for a feature like that. You can export the Map16 pages (which besides the first 3 pages, are consistent throughout the entire rom, by the way), however.

EDIT: Oh, and you can copy backgrounds level to level in the same rom.

Eh... copy and pasting is adding a step you don't need. Just note the level of the background you are copying, open the level you want to paste in, and select the Copy Background Image or whatever in that one menu is. That isn't a very good description because I'm at work and don't have a copy of Lunar Magic on hand that I can check the specific names on.

Anyone using the set should keep in mind that you will need a custom block to keep Mario from walking on that area (as anyone who has tried to make a slope start right on top of a solid wall can tell you). I'll include instructions with the set.
