Seiken wouldn't have made it since it didn't receive an American release. |
I'd take CT over SoM anyday, so fanboys or not the right game won. I like SoM but CT was just extremely original and involving.

Weasel - Well, if nothing else it's good programming experience, right? |
If it progresses, it'll be interesting if nothing else.

I thought that was a straight port of Tetris based on an old EGM import review I once read. |
...At the very least it *LOOKED* like plain old 4-player Tetris. (restricted) |

Just a heads up, that Yahoo article was published by PRWEB, who have a ridiculously notorious reputation of publishing pretty much ANY news release for free. |
...OK, if version 2.0 of the board ever comes out, we're so using this. (Of all the companies on the web...)

Actually, yes. |
I know some people might like SoM, but they're two different games and I put away... geez... soooo many hours on CT. So there you go. 4,000+ vote lead for Zelda with 3+ hours to go... Yup. Bit of a shock there.

Your... weapons? |
Well, I don't think many people here actually practice the deadly arts so... Welcome.

Obviously from Network Chaos unless Erk and Toxic frequent... other... types of boards. |
Welcome to the original board.

...Did anyone ever send the flash in where I was... immortalized? |
...Of course, I'd be MORE than happy if that one was blammed but that's besides the point. Elitest bastards.

C and G aren't that close on the keyboard to make that typo. |

Actually, that was set to keep going into Bad Blood. Not really kept a secret or anything. |
I said Benoit too but ONLY because he needed to appear on RAW sometime in the last 2 weeks. (restricted) |

From what I've seen... LOTS of options. Dunno why they're all in there but I guess to "tweak" the game for a user's needs. (...Adjust the GRAVITY?!? Sure that Atlus didn't ship the beta version?) |
Seems to be OK aside from the improvements that should have been made. (restricted) |

Bouche: Could that explain why the music does sound a little... odd in an emulator? It's still good but the voices sound a bit tinny... not sure if that's an emulator fault or if that's just how they came out. Maybe they're better when done through stereo. |
Anyways, the original DK on GB was GREAT. Just a lot of great puzzle levels, good difficulty, etc. - worth seeking out if you never played it. This one might not be as great challenge-wise (although I'm only half-way through the game), but it's still good. There's 2 parts to each level. The first part is the traditional "find the key and unlock the door" stage. Once you do that, you go into another area where you have to get the Mini Mario. Pretty simple. So 36 stages (...There seems to be space on the stage screen for more tabs but I'd rather find that out myself. ) becomes 72. Then you have to complete a Mini Mario level, which is kind of like Krusty's Fun House. The Mini Marios follow Mario around the stage, and of course you have to hit the correct switches/etc. to lead them to the toy box. Finally you face off against Donkey Kong in the final level of each stage. Sounds pretty easy, and I'm sure if you just sat down for a few hours you could beat every level - but there's a twist. In each level, there's 3 presents (usually 1 in the first part and 2 in the second, but that varies). Grab all 3 to enter the bonus round at the end of the level - or to go for the level's star. See, each level has a specific point total that's set as the "High Score". Beat the High Score, get a star. HOWEVER, in almost every level you really need to do three things to get the star: - Grab all 3 presents, since that's 10,000 points right there. - Finish the level as quickly as possible. - Don't die. That last point is a little frustrating. See, when you beat the first part of each level, the time left carries over to the second part. HOWEVER, if you die in the second part, you lose that extra time - and in most cases, that'll kill your chance at getting the star. So if you die in the second part, you have to exit the level and go back in to try beat the score. Still fun.

You can score off a corner via a bicycle kick. |
Of course, if you mess that up you could land on your head anyways so... yeah. There's been calls to stop heading in minor leagues and that, but I figure that if it's that much of a problem, maybe they should look at the BALL first and see if any changes can be made to it. Nothing revolutionary, just maybe provide a bit more cushion or something.

I believe the new maintainer uploaded a new version of 1.7.2 which fixes that bug. Some code probably wasn't commented out. (I'm still running 1.7.1 so I can't check that, but that was what I read.) |
But hey, if the new guy's smart enough to fix something like that, then the project's still in good shape. |
