Whenever I ignore my bed, the Swiffer gets loaded with dirt. It's absolutely disgusting... dirt and hair and who knows what.

So basically GI (which I've never read mind you) is full of elitist reviewers who basically trash a game (even one that gets 7/10) if it doesn't live up to their lofty standards?

Wow. I thought EGM was harsh back in the day.

I dunno if I still have the picture... If I do I'll post it.

Hiryuu identified what it was right away, sadly enough.

June 27, 2004

The draw for the first ever Acmlm-FM Cup was made before I set everyone on holiday mode until July 15. Obviously things can change since someone could get fired or move to another team, meaning the cup could end up being a shambles... but we're going to try this. The first two rounds will be single-elimination, and the final round will hopefully be a group stage with the team finishing on top of the group winning the cup. If managers move to other teams, then we'll start replacing teams as we go along. Hopefully none of you are that unloyal though.

First round to take place on July 13th unless stated:

Derby County - Ionikos
Zafririm Holon - Cliftonville
Beira-Mar - Tromso
Helsingborg - Sevilla
Unirea Urziceni - Assyriska
Djurgarden - GKS Katowice (July 8)
Dublin City - Bodo/Glimt (July 14)
IBV - Chievo Verona

Colleen - Chievo Verona (Italian Serie A)

Bet some people thought I'd pick Celtic, huh? I chose one of my favorite underdogs instead, but I didn't know they were... um... broke. I have 950k to spend, although I dunno if that'll be enough...

blackhole89 - IBV (Icelandic Urvalsdeild, 10th)

Talk about picking the short straw. Lots of work to be done here, even though only 6 games have been played in the 18-game season. No wins, 4 draws, 2 losses; and IBV's expected to qualify for European competition this season. Oh boy. Did manage to make it to the 2nd Round of the VISA Bikar to face or. (Yes, that's a letter.) The team has a couple of thousand Euros in the bank, but blackhole can't spend any of it.

LizardKing - Bodo/Glimt (Norwegian Tippeligaen, 8th)

LizardKing's taking control of a Bodo team that hasn't quite set the league on fire so far this season... 12 points after 10 games is well clear of the relegation zone, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Bodo has reached the Quarter Finals of the If-Cup, however, where they will meet... you guessed it... TROMSO.

Yoshi Dee - GKS Katowice (Polish 1. Liga)

Poor Ashley is stuck at a team which has pretty cheap players and a pretty small budget... they owe the bank 450k for starters. It'll take some really good skills to keep this bunch up.

Dragon Master - Djurgarden (Swedish Allsvenskan, 10th)

Well, at least they're in the UEFA Champions League. Djurgarden haven't had a good start to the season so far, although they're still in the Svenska Cupen and will face Tord in the 4th Round. Still, with a couple of quick wins they can vault right into the title chase again. Financially, the team isn't in trouble or anything.

Max - Assyriska (Swedish Superettan, 8th)

I forgot that we're not using 2005 data, so Max is stuck in the Superettan. Aw. And the team's 70k in debt as well, although that isn't too much. They're also still in the Svenska Cupen, facing Landskrona in their 4th Round match.

Trapster - Beira-Mar (Portuguese Super Liga)

Trapster takes over a team that doesn't really have any high ambitions and will do well to avoid being thumped by the likes of Porto and Benfica. On the plus side, there's a lot of young talent in the team.

NSNick - Dublin City (Irish Premier Division, 9th)

Knocked out of the Leinster Senior Cup, knocked out of the League Cup, 9th place in the league after 17 games... is Nick going to spend more time at the pub instead of managing the team? Only time will tell, but it wouldn't be a smart idea.

Danielle - Derby County (English Championship)

The team owes two separate banks debts of 45m. So yeah. Danielle isn't going to be buying superstar players anytime soon. But Derby are usually a decent team and she shouldn't run them into the ground too badly.

Luigi-San - Sevilla (Spanish Primera Division)

Possibly the luckiest draw out of all the random team selections. UEFA Cup participants, over 30m in the bank, plenty of money available for signing players... Sevilla have the potential to have a very good year, but it's doubtful whether they can win the title or not.

Lilmario - Cliftonville (Northern Irish Premier Division)

All the board asks is that Cliftonville not be relegated this season. It'll probably be a dogfight but Cliftonville could easily finish almost anywhere in the table, really. Depends how good the manager is, of course.

Emil Larsson - Helsingborg (Swedish Allsvenskan, 11th)

The board wants our good friend Emil to worry more about the long-term future of the team. Of course, being in 11th place, there might not be a long-term future if things don't get back on track. Knocked out in the 2nd Round of the Svenska Cupen by Forward.

Thayer Langer - Zafririm Holon (Israeli Liga Leumit)

Talk about your tiny, unknown teams. They'll just be happy to stay in the Leumit next season instead of being dropped to the amateur leagues. Only 45k is available for new players, but that's a lot at this level.

Nick McCarthy - Ionikos (Greek National A Division)

Another team that needs to shape up quickly this season or possibly be toast, Ionikos are definitely not at the level of some of the big boys like Panathinaikos and Olympiakos. Still, Nick will be given ample time to try and get a solid team together. I hope.

The SomerZ - Tromso (Norwegian Tippeligaen, 4th)

SomerZ has a lot to look forward to aside from the If-Cup match against Bodo/Glimt. Tromso's performed surprisingly well this season so far, and have a healthy 19 points after the first 10 games. Relegation might not be an issue, but can they still be hanging around the top of the table when the season ends?

MonopolyMan - Unirea Urziceni (Romanian Divizia B Group 2)

I'd never even heard of this team before I randomly selected them, which tells you a lot. Their colors (black/silver) are nice though. In any event, it looks like a long season for Mono and his eclectic band of Romanian misfits.

The GAME is for the 2004-05 season. I wasn't going to wait two months for the new version.

As far as Portuguese teams go, you weren't lucky though. A club like Porto would have been a great pick.

Dei* manages them, all the team assignments are listed several times here.

Question - Is anyone else seeing instead of the Euro sign, and various crap for other characters? Seems to me like something might be up with the board...

Dunno about the game problem, but the console's easily explaned... it was the 1997 version of the console that was released as a "budget" system, much like the stream-lined NES model that was released near the end of it's run.

HH: Link isn't dead since it looks fine when I check my post. The board isn't exactly rendering it right.

Pretty hard to do that in double elimination though... no? Because someone would have to get a bye in the first loser's round.

Sony let them release MMAC though, and they probably want as much software support for the PSP as possible.

Watch it be an Europe-only release. XD

And it's going to be REALLY hard finding something for everyone to do when Heat/Velocity end at the end of the month. The Sunday morning show on USA (they'd better call it Superstars... ) is going to be for the RAW brand only and SD doesn't have a secondary show at the moment unless they end up deciding to put Velocity in syndication.

Dunno about healthier. They probably cut a few corners ingredient-wise which probably affect taste/texture more than anything.

I'm more of a brand name guy. I know there's some no-name cereals that aren't bad but it's not like I've tried any.

According to Wikipedia, there was no S-Video or RGB output. I assume RF was still OK.
