...You really should have shared that with us sooner, Ashley. I don't even think Escape from Atlantis was released... wasn't it a proto?

Anyways, I see your Fist of the North Star/Pachinko combination and raise it with a Neon Genesis Evangelion/mah-jong combination. Seriously. And I think *many* anime games have mah-jong titles to boot. NGE might have multiple ones.

*meaningful bump*

A new wave of DS cart dumps (26!) just came out and a bunch of them DO show something on the latest version of iDeaS. Nothing *extremely* noteworthy (for example, none of the games are playable but some get to a title screen or have messed up colors or have something visible) but apparently the dumping method for this last batch was different; not hacked like the first 20+ so dumps were.

It'll probably depend on the game. Something like Super Mario 64 or a puzzle game (where stylus use is optional if supported) will obviously be a lot more enjoyable than the new Kirby game.

Um... That's a bit more than suggestive.

I know Sexy Parodius is risque (that's probably the best way to put it) but it's also full of the more general Parodius jokes and parodies as well.

At least, being a simple shooter, you don't need to know Japanese to play. I'm surprised the game never landed in North America though.

You should have ALLLLL the classic early 80's arcade games such as Centipede, Asteroids, Missile Command, etc. The roms are small and you could probably have two hundred classics or so in MAME at the cost of 50MB of dish space.

Ooh... Namco Classics Collections 1 and 2. They don't run PERFECTLY in MAME but they're perfectly playable and quite fun.

Adventures of Lololo

He *used* to go through life just fine with "Lolo" and not "Lololo" which is what Nintendo forced upon him. All 3 in the series are fine.

I'm going to add three Tecmo titles to the list for now.

Rygar - Rygar's a strange one since it's *not* a port of the arcade version, which is a fun straight-forward action game. This one's more of an adventure game (think PS2 Rygar) with a *great* soundtrack (given that the game's from 1986) and fun gameplay. If you're good, you can beat the game in a few hours but it's a fun little time. Plus you became stronger by defeating certain enemies and all. Good for its time.

Solomon's Key - I believe this version also came out for the SMS (which had a password system) but not on any other system (they got arcade ports instead). Again, different than the arcade version but with the same gameplay; build blocks, destroy blocks, grab items, get to the exit before the time limit expires or you die. Some levels in the game are from the arcade but others are unique, and there's a BUNCH of secrets too. More of an action game than a puzzle game since you can figure out the solution to most levels, but once you do it's a matter of avoiding enemies along the way.

Mighty Bomb Jack - NES exclusive I do believe. Basically a sequel to Bomb Jack, which is a really fun arcade game by itself. Game's split into two portions; side-scrolling where you have to get from Point A to B without killing yourself, and the Royal Palace Rooms, which are levels from Bomb Jack with the same rules applying (grab all the bombs to exit, grab lit bombs for more points/large bonuses). The final level's even longer depending on how many secrets you found... And of course, you can gain special powers by using Mighty Coins, but grab more than 9 (or grab enough Mighty Drink to boost your time over 99 seconds) and you head to the TORTURE ROOM (with a really loud "DOOOOOOOO" sound when the screen pops up) and need to survive that to restart the level without a life lost (but with all your Coins gone).

I own all three games and appreciate Tecmo a great deal because of them.

Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium - Best wrestling game EVER for the SNES. EVER. The whole damn Fire Pro series is how wrestling games should be structured, actually - lots of strategy/timing involved.

Terranigma - It's a damn shame Enix didn't end up bringing this to the States. The best game in the Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaia trilogy, it has a strong storyline, challenging gameplay and a wicked soundtrack. Thankfully it *was* released in Europe which means that we didn't have to deal with waiting for a rom translation.

Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III/VI - Duh. Easy picks to be sure. Two of the best RPG's ever made. It's a shame that FF6 cost my parents $99.99 when they got it as my Christmas present. :\

Lufia 2 - Another really good RPG and possibly the high point of the series... I haven't gotten around to playing the GBC/GBA versions but I hear they're not as good, which is a shame. In any event, the Ancient Cave itself was pretty ground-breaking but the game itself is your typical solid RPG.

Rockman and Forte - Otherwise known as "Megaman and Bass" here, where it was released on the GBA a couple of years ago. I *guess* you could call this Megaman 9 even though it wasn't billed as such... the usual really good MM game complete with 100 CD's/bios of characters from the series to collect. And many of those CD's are extremely difficult to get or are concealed well. Might take a while to grab all of them actually; you *need* to play through the game with both characters to do so.

I'm waiting for Mario Mix personally, that way I can play on the Cube without having to shell out cash for a PC pad. :\

DDR's fun and you don't *need* to use it to exercise... of course, you'll end up getting some exercise whether you play leisurely or in workout mode. :\ Your call.

If the tagboard really does start to become a problem, then I think we'd be justified in pulling *solely* because of the reason you just said - people will keep talking about it. So if you take out the source of the (potential) problem, then everything's fine and dandy.

I'm surprised a lot of people aren't even GETTING Kasumi's reference.

I pretty much got B's and B+'s last term and that was with just doing a little bit of studying. Hint: paying attention in class *REALLY* helps come review time. If you know even the main points of a certain topic, you'll do just fine and it's easy to fill in the blanks.

I actually found the site in... I'd guess late 2000. Didn't notice the board until April (well, it was founded in January but still) and didn't sign up until July out of a whim.

I love whims.

Welcome.

I think we have a pretty decent European population, all things considered. The UK's well-represented... Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Holland, the Czech Republic I think... Mainly in Western Europe but still.

Welcome.

Ashley: That's not the show that'll be on the DVD. The Mario cartoons pretty much revolved around the universe created by SMB/SMB2, with Bowser as the main bad guy; however, a *lot* of the items/enemies were from SMB2; for example, Bowser used a Magic Potion to escape frequently.

I think Zelda was based a lot more on Adventure of Link, surprisingly.

Well, you kind of figured they had to add *SOMETHING* to the game since Sonic CD and Sonic R wouldn't sell it on its own (the Game Gear games have been used before in other games so they don't count).

I'm a bit surprised that Streets of Rage 1-3 would make the cut though. Good games, yes, but they don't exactly fit the Sonic motif. :\ (At least the games from the first collection were of the Flicky/Ristar ilk.)

The minigames that I've seen look pretty fun, and it seems that you might be able to toss some tricks into the songs themselves. There's one mod/minigame/stage/whatever with Koopa Troopas - basically you have to hit the Koopa's once to knock them out of their shell, then they slide back... so you have to hit them again after while still dancing to the song in question.

Good find! I was looking for a Wiki entirely devoted to games but the ones I found were either:

A) Dead with no content;
B) Dead with minimum content.

*bookmarks* Might give me something to do this weekend.

I didn't know Comix Zone was in. Dunno if it made the GameCube collection...

Not complaining at all, but I'm just saying that at this rate the next game in the series better be a Sega collection instead of a Sonic one. (I think they have no choice if they do a third anyways.)
