It would definitely be an alternative and offering 1-2 games per Revolution game purchased (or $5 credit or something like that) would be nice. Nintendo wouldn't be stupid enough to make that the only way to get the games, as you KNOW there'd be people buying the console, bringing it home and picking up $100 worth of games online.

I have them ranked so far as Revolution, PS3, Xbox 360. That could all change, of course... and in terms of stuff we KNOW is going to be shown, then I have PS3 over Xbox at E3 itself. (Pending any Nintendo stuff on the floor of course.)

Xeogred: ...I'm not that big of a new-age FPS fan, so there.

Basically I have Revolution on my "YES" list, and at the moment I would even, if I come into the funds (translation: get job, save money) consider the PS3 (mainly for the PS2 compatibility). No interest at all in the Xbox 360.

I don't necessarily hate MS... after all, I'm running Windows XP right now. I just don't like their gaming philosophy and the fact that the Xbox has been typecast as a FPS/"extreme" system. Just doesn't cater to my tastes as a gamer.

Yeah, some non-Revolution talk now.

OK, at least I can get Zelda come Christmas (hopefully it's released by then), that's a no-brainer. Wouldn't it be something if that won Game of the Year ahead of any Xbox 360 games...

Oh, and... DDR MARIO MIX. I wanna see a song list first but I'm tempted...

I'm thinking, since both times the net went down was right around the time the weather wasn't that great... the line probably got wet.

neo: I didn't. But I don't think I'll need one or anything... I mean, first off it's dialup and second off I don't think the connection will end up being THAT bad.

If it was constantly like this in the future, I might switch to cable. But I'm not thinking about that right now.

Nethack hasn't changed it's gameplay ever, so... if it's not broke, why fix it?

And the fact that everything's more or less randomly generated on startup... yeah... that's why it's been around forever and why the Nethack newsgroups are still quite popular on Usenet.

That would be EXCELLENT but I doubt Batista's losing the belt next week given how HHH/Batista III in a Hell in a Cell match is the tentative booking for the next PPV... and then possibly Batista/Orton at Summerslam.

I could see WWE doing that but then having Edge go for the pin... Batista just gets his shoulder up before the three count... and then promptly makes his comeback and pins Edge, who would be dead in the water as far as the main event goes after that.

Yeah, but for a team like Birmingham, Portsmouth or Fulham... it's a potential backdoor entry into the UEFA Cup. So it could be worthwhile if you go all the way.

Looks interesting, maybe I'll try it out... or I'll just wait for the inevitable server software leak much like what happened with the first PSO.

New link via Google News.

This is... very strange. It caters to the Amish obviously, and that's great... but strange. Especially since it's probably the only store in the entire Wal-Mart chain doing this.

Oh well. Even the Amish need their big blocks of ice from somewhere.

The DVD add-on probably won't cost much. Rumor has it Nintendo's doing this so that they don't have to tack on royalty fees onto the console - making it a bit cheaper.

It would have been nice to see Nintendo go against the grain and have another special presentation at the end of E3, although the odds of that happening are pretty slim.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Nintendo is just screwing with people's minds at the moment, which is a nice little tactic if they want to treat their fanboys like lemmings.

As far as a real first look (again, BARRING ANY SPECIAL SURPRISES TOMORROW)... Gut feeling says late August/early September in either Tokyo or New York.

Ziff: Can't really call it good or bad... they might take a page out of the Microsoft book and mess with people's minds big time causing some hardcore fanboys to go coo-coo. (Halo 2, Xbox 360, etc...)

I think Nintendo Power jumped the shark, so to speak, when the ads went in. But during the NES/SNES eras... Oh man. At least then they weren't afraid to say "this is a good game" and "this isn't".

I think it's GOOD to have various sources reporting on the quality of games (magazine/web reviews, user reviews, message boards, etc.) although the final decision, of course, always rests on the shoulders of the gamer. But it's nice to at least read up on a game and see if it's the type of RPG/FPS/etc. that appeals to you instead of regretting your purchase - which I'm sure has happened to ALL of us over the years.

Well, *IF* that's how Nintendo's going to compete... less processing power = less chips = lower cost to manufacture. Which would be tres sweet indeed if Nintendo could release a system with graphics at par with the 360/PS3 and at a cheaper price point.
