| I don't buy the touch screen rumor. One of the funny rumors I heard, actually, was that Nintendo showed off the touch screen thing to some third parties and they pretty much balked at it, so Nintendo threw the idea out. XD Wouldn't be surprised if there IS a touch screen but I doubt it would be the focal point of the controller. I think they'll surprise us tomorrow. Given how MS and Sony have laid their cards out on the table, even if Nintendo was going to be coy again tomorrow they might have no choice but to go on the offensive. We'll see. |

Haven't actually gotten to try either one but they both cater to different markets, really. Don't really know if you'd be able to call it a handheld battle but they both seem to be holding their own at the moment - although it seems like Nintendogs might be the DS killer app. ![]() Plus a lot of DS games aren't coming out until later this year, so it's more like a build-up to the good stuff. ![]() |

| I would find that one VERY hard to believe, and that's my neutral side talking. (My Nintendo fanboy side is saying that they'll show off the new Mario and that they'll have a ton of great announcements, but I digress.) If the system ISN'T ready, then Nintendo's walking into a death trap because the bad pub that would flow in would be incredible. Given how the system SHOULD launch within a year or so (much like the PS3 in Spring 2006 according to the conference), not having something ready now would be a real shock. It's not like they haven't had enough time to show it. (Of course, they could always get around that by just showing a ton of videos of tech demos/games/etc. and having the system on display without anything inside it, but we'll see. If what you're saying ends up being true, then that's probably the best way around any scathing criticism.) Oh, and Nintendo hasn't done a Spaceworld for 2 years or so and they're not doing one this year, so... ![]() |

No spamming, that's fine... but you'd still better read the FAQ and work a little bit on your spelling/grammar so that we can all understand you without many problems. ![]() Welcome. |

I don't think we're quite at the "make great emulators for the PSP" stage just YET. We'll be there soon enough but this smells pretty fake. ![]() (Remember when everyone wanted a GP32 just because of its programming/emulation capabilities? ) |

Probably an original song or something from a tiny metal band located on the outskirts of Saskatoon. |
![]() I still don't get the whole "let's mix caffeine with beer!" thing, yet if the new Coke/Coffee mix ends up coming out as rumored, I'll be into that. :\

Very easy to be evil but you'd end up either dead or in jail (and eventually getting the death penalty), so... :\ Good for her if that's the career path she takes (and if the blog's not a joke). |
Sephiroth, my sweet love. The one in my dreams. You are everything to me. No matter what happens or what harsh words people may say, my love for you will always remain strong. As long as I have my love for you .... that is all that matters. My eternal love. To be with you one day is my hope. I love you forever ... beyond eternity. My Sephiroth. Either she's doing a hell of a job working the masses or she's going to walk around town one day swinging a big katana Excel-style. As for the second link, it COULD be that the name came from another source but who the hell knows. :\ And at least Glenn/Marle would be names that you could get away with since they're normal sounding and all. Just don't use something that maybe 10 other people in the world, TOPS, use as their name.

Nethack would probably hold the record for being one of the most continuously developed games ever, I would have to think. |
Really should re-download it, I haven't played it since I got my new PC... :\ Never can make it very deep in the dungeon anyways. Kitten Yiffer: The death thing IS the point. I've read diaries of people who get right to the end, it's like they take a minute or so to plan out EVERY move at that stage.

| And guess which game we got in Canada yesterday? Fulham vs. Norwich. Geeeeeeez. Some countries also have League Cups (involving only domestic league teams, not those in the semi-pro/amateur ranks) but those aren't held with as much prestige. Usually in England, for example, since the League Cup carries with it a UEFA Cup birth, the smaller Premier League teams will put more focus on it than the larger teams, who might only field a full-strength squad if they reach the final. |

Well, I figure the press conference starts with a new Zelda trailer (rumored name: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which kicks all sorts of ass) which is one of those "pop the crowd easily" things. Then they'll bring Miyamoto out so that the crowd will cheer, as they always do so whenever he appears. ![]() I follow the industry a lot so I know what kind of death trap Nintendo could be walking into. The problem is that if it's a no-show, then they have to give a REALLY good reason as to why. Like I said, they could get around it by just showing the system design itself and some videos, which I suspect they would do if they are boxed into that corner. |

| Probably not going to happen... Spoiler: Rumor is that they'll "go with the flow" and have Lita turn on Kane to be with new boyfriend Edge. Dunno if that's set in stone but that's one possibility for tonight. |

| ...And why would they use Zelda as a tech demo? If they use one, it uses Mario (or if they're really trying to make a mature push, Samus Aran). They're already going to be showing off Zelda: Twilight Princess so there's no need to use the same franchise twice. |

| Nintendo, which mostly ignored the Net with GameCube, also is catching up with the online wave. Revolution will offer broadband access to a free Internet-based player matching service, similar to Xbox Live, that also will have downloadable versions of nearly every Nintendo game | ||||

Only downside of today - no games/videos although HINTS were dropped that we might see a bit of that at the show itself, which would be a smart move... maybe that's what the "Club Revolution" picture from the E3 floor is for, no? Reservation only and all, since it's a chic club? ![]() Who needs a killer app when you have a killer FEATURE. There's going to be people who only buy the Revolution for the game library, and that'll still make Nintendo happy. I read one comment from someone who works at a game store and she said that she mentioned the Revolution to twelve customers - if they were taking pre-orders now, ten of them would have jumped on it. ![]() I think Nintendo did what they had to do - if you can't show games (or if you're delaying that a little bit) then tease gamers to no end and make some nice little announcements. And I think they did just that. They did the best possible job they could without showing all their cards. Oh, and the Game Boy Micro will sell since it's... well... smaller than an iPod Mini, apparently. Style sells.Ziff: Nintendo has the best looking console by far with the shiny jet black design (and other colors too! Come on, British Racing Green or Red Ferrari...), then Sony (little strange but I like the color choices) and finally Microsoft (faceplates... eh). Kitten Yiffer: The pricing will be interesting. *MY* guess would be that a few games will be free (lord knows that given how many times Nintendo's included it on GBA games, Mario Bros. SHOULD be one of those; maybe a game of the month as well), and others would cost money. Maybe $0.99 - $2.99 per game depending on the system. Pretty affordable. Or they could do package deals, sell cards with $10/$20 on them, include a free game download with each Revolution game purchased, etc. As for the flash memory, I'm not sure how that'll work or if there'll be another storage method, but one would think memory cards won't be needed if you just stay with the flash memory. ![]() |
