Rule #582 of the Internet: Whenever you find out that Google's not working, don't post a thread on it on a message board. You *know* that Google being down for more than a couple of minutes would be cause for alert anyways. ![]() |

| OK... Let's see how well I can put this together. 5/2, 2:00 AM or so - DSL cuts off. That's no big deal, given how 2 AM is usually around the time that Bell starts to do maintenance if that's on the schedule. 5/3 - Still no DSL. I'm not terribly worried given that there was still some rain outside and I assumed that the line might have gotten wet. Of course, it didn't come up all day. 5/4 - Again, no net. Now I'm starting to get a bit worried but at least the "DSL" light on my modem's coming on now. It just isn't staying put. 5/5 - Net came on for a few minutes, and I got to do a couple of things online to basically alert people (like staff) that things were flaky... then, of course, the thing dies again. 5/6 - I start playing Final Fantasy 9, Sword of Mana, Robowarrior and Faxanadu. Hell, I need SOMETHING to pass the time. 5/7 - Back up for about an hour or so, and I offered up a second update to staff and assured everyone that it looked like things were fine. Of course they weren't. 5/8 through 5/10 - Status quo. I was this close to calling Sympatico's tech support, but... I've heard horror stories, and they make you go through the idiot scanning service (otherwise known as Level 1 Tech Support) before you get someone who's not reading off a script. :\ I decide to give it one more day. 5/11 - YAY! Net works as of 11 AM! That's great news! ...Oh, and at 9 AM today I had my wisdom teeth removed, which makes it an anti-climatic return back. So hard to eat/drink the first day... face swelling up... need to play catch-up here... no idea if painkillers are working or not... ugh. ![]() So there you go. Figure I'll be online as much as possible the next 2 days at least to make up for lost time. Not a fun way to start summer vacation, that's for sure. |

Sonic Extreme was a sad story. |
It actually looked like it would be a great game (and might have helped the Saturn stay around a while longer) but the business decisions made in the run-up... absolutely insane. I'm surprised Sega stayed in business as a console maker so long. ![]()

PSP's more powerful than a GBA, which can run some SNES roms at low framerates. I would think most 8-bit/16-bit systems could be emulated on it without any problems. DS might not be *as* powerful but I think it could get the job done as well. |

Isn't Terranigma the third game in the Soul Blazer/Illusion of Gaea trilogy? |
Nintendo Power made mention of a game similar to Terranigma slated for a 1995/96 release in America, but then again Dragon Quest 6 was schedule for release too and THAT didn't happen. :\ Terranigma is a fun action RPG though. Great soundtrack too. (restricted) |

*votes for the latter option but ONLY because it's not a "yes" vote* |
![]() Regular Dew is perfectly fine and I enjoy it from time to time. I'm not a big fan of Code Red and haven't been able to try any of the other special flavors, but the original's fine and dandy. Surge was all right (I remember WCW advertising it ALL THE TIME on Nitro back in the good old Monday night wrestling days) but it wasn't as sweet as Dew. Plus I only had one 2L bottle of Surge which was picked up from the States. Canada never had it.

Actually, by looking at the past 8 days I missed, I'm VERY surprised at some of the placements. |
![]() If nothing else, it's a neat little experiment as to how the points are spread out when the ACS isn't around. *winks* ![]()

Did you watch HBK vs. Shelton from last week? AMAZING match. Shelton has so much potential and Michaels looked to enjoy having him in there as his opponent - the result, of course, was a fun as hell match with an awesome finish. ![]() And they don't get slapped - they get chopped. ![]() As for the Gold Rush tournament final... Well, I didn't have Kane/Edge as my final prediction but everyone's saying now that they need to turn Lita heel and pair her with Edge. If they DON'T, then they're absolutely insane for booking those two in the same match without any reason. The fans might have a field day...

Actually, Kitten Yiffer/Taryn, I do have backup dial-up... but... I kinda opted to save $25 and not put a 56k modem in my PC when I bought it last year. |
![]() I'd love to be torrenting right now but I'm at 30kb/s download and 80kb/s upload. ![]()

GBA couldn't handle 3000 I don't think. Maybe the DS could but I'm not sure. Probably would still be phased down a bit. |
I think 2000 worked for the simple reason that it made the right additions to the series; enough new features were added, but nothing that made the game needlessly complicated. And now I need to look through my stack of CD-R's to see which one has the game. ![]() (restricted) |

I'll take the Cinco de Mayo argument, after all he's only 6 days late. Maybe a bender does that to you. ![]() But seriously... If it's a small plane and if they don't think it's a major threat, then why not just run an operation in the air without forcing terror alerts and everything? Plus from what I'm reading, they just forced it out of the zone - they didn't force it down. *rolls eyes* |

| I would play Minish Cap ASAP - haven't beaten it yet but it's another Flagship/Capcom product, who have a pretty good idea on how to make Zelda games (see Ages/Seasons). Soul Blazer was a *good* game and I'd actually put it ahead of Gaea. I remember renting it a few times just to beat it... Pretty fun for '93 or so. ![]() |

| Missed the last vote so let's see... 1. Super Mario Bros. 3. I don't think there's any justifiable reason to put Sonic and Knuckles ahead of it, even if that's the "real" Sonic 3. ![]() 9. Super Mario World. I love the X series but again, it's just a case of being matched up against the wrong game. 11. Super Metroid. The original Zelda is great and will always be great, but Super Metroid is just one of those games you can pick up again and again, and it's non-linear depending what tricks you use. Never gets old. This was a tough pick. ![]() 3. Link to the Past. Never played KH so can't really put it ahead of LttP, which I spent a good month or two on back when I first got it. 2. Super Smash Bros. Melee. I still play this when I'm in the mood, and it's just soooo much chaotic fun. Too bad I've never played it with friends. :\ (Original SSB, yes.) 8. Super Mario Kart. Any game that I could play with friends/family for months on end after everything was unlocked is going to get my vote... plus I still haven't finished OoT. ![]() 6. Final Fantasy 6. One of my all-time favorite FF games that I'll have to pick up again sometime soon. Great story, better translation than some earlier Square efforts, good gameplay... and it cost $99.99 Canadian. ![]() 4. Chrono Trigger. I know a lot of people think Trigger's "overrated" but you have to take it over Tetris Attack. It was something totally different - a breath of fresh air. (Well, so was TA but I haven't played that quite as much.) ...Wow. 8 Nintendo picks. ![]() |

| Most people tend to use version 1.36 for netplay at the moment, since they messed up a few things in later versions that could lead to instability and the like. But if you can connect, it works perfectly fine with maybe some minor lag depending on various factors. | ||||

Setzer: Yup, that's the one. Again, the story behind it getting cancelled is absolutely insane, but it *looked* like something that might have sold a few more Saturns and kept the game around instead of seeing Magic Knight Rayearth released here as the final (wasn't it?) game for the system.Hell, even just putting on a one/two level demo of the Saturn version would be neat as a peak at what could have been. If they still had the code of course. |
