Since you PMed me about your typing skills, I might as well answer in this thread...

Yes. They're not good. More specifically, your grammar (and a few word spellings) isn't (aren't) good. This is a serious forum, and as a result you're supposed to take some care when writing posts here in order to get your point across.

The people in this forum are generally smart and are mature enough to post here without getting into trouble. If you can't put more care and thought into your posts in this forum, then maybe you'd better not post here.

Oh, and Taryn was right. This post is a bit of a flame/troll. So I'll just close it and hopefully you learn your lesson. Consider this a warning, and either try to clean up your posts/thoughts or simply don't post in this forum anymore. Fair choice.

Well, birthday threads should technically be addressed to active members and shouldn't be made by the person him/herself or for people who never come to the board. :\

I never go to IRC either (at least not #acmlm as of late) so I wouldn't know. But if she's active somewhere, then I guess it's OK. :\

Happy birthday.

Kitten Yiffer: My closest shot came in one match (I think it was in set 2) where we were down to under 30 seconds on the clock and it pretty much became a crapshoot.

That was the best chance I had of getting a win and it didn't happen. :\ But Proto K is good... I'll admit that. Although I felt he got the better of the items at times. What can you do, though.

I'd guess my vocality (??? ) improved as well, because I am *so* not a conflict person offline. :\ But you have to learn to grow a bit of a spine and tackle problems head-on somehow.

I'm probably also a bit more open, mainly due to the fact that now I actually have several online friends as opposed to one or two. Really helps you discover new things (games, sports, etc.) as well.

Christmas morning many moons ago. I received two shiny (as in GOLD) NES games in the form of The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link, respectively. So, I play Zelda for a bit, and then I play Link for a bit. Then I want to play Zelda after... and the game won't start up. At BEST, it displays garbage with a flashing screen - at worst, it does nothing.

I put Link back in, that works fine. OK. So it's a problem with the Zelda cart. Clean it, nothing happens. Clean the system, still nothing.

Finally, we had to send back the Zelda cart a few days later to Nintendo. I wasn't too happy since, you know, it was fricking ZELDA and all.

6 weeks later, Nintendo happily sends along a brand new Zelda game (with bilingual instructions this time - so it was a later revision most likely since I think the first one was the original... ) and all was fine until I got stuck on Level 2 in the Second Quest and was stuck for months until Nintendo Power explained that you could walk THROUGH walls. But that's another story.

...And this is why people should be using roms that are named correctly (like through the GoodNES system) instead of downloading anything that has a .nes extension and thinking it's the rom.

Of course, people who know squat about emulation don't know that some games have different revisions, bad dumps, overdumps, hacks, etc.

(I remember when Dragon Warrior 4 was first dumped and it was a whole MEG in size. Everyone was going crazy (since back then a MEG was still a lot) and then a year or so later someone finally figures out it was overdumped and should be 512kb instead. )

I thought I heard that there was going to be a version of VBA released soon that allows for online play.

*checks*

Yeah... VBALink. Apparently netplay works BUT we're talking maybe 1-5% speed, give or take a bit. LAN works OK apparently. So we're closer.

If this ever hits 100%... Hello GBA link play.

As for games... eh... I have this problem where I *think* I'm good in certain games and then I get absolutely owned. And I've played games for about 18 years.

Still 4 days (after today) left in the month, you know. :\ One spree by Trapster/one bad day by Kyouji and there ya go. There's been comebacks before.

(Then again, it's not a competition so NYAH!)

Yeah, I didn't see too many Grade 11 kids with full blown facial hair back in my day.

Give it time if you want one. It's not like you'll automatically grow a mustache and a beard the second you hit puberty - it'll take a couple of more years. Just keep shaving it for now.

*looks at the PFA's list*

I'd agree with MOST of the names there but I'd swap Johnson with Rooney, who is just as good as Johnson if not better given his age. (His goal this weekend, with a DEAD LEG no less... outstanding.) I'd put Johnson on a second XI though.

Meanwhile, in other board member-related news...

- Celtic looks to have won the SPL. Still 4 games left but the 2-1 win over Rangers on the weekend SHOULD ice it nicely. Celtic have a 5 point lead and could even manage one slip-up on their way to hopefully retaining the title. And that's WITHOUT Larsson (and with the always fun to hear about Craig Bellamy who I wouldn't mind seeing in green and white again last year after his recent form) to boot.
- Tromso (SomerZ's team! ) are starting off OK in Norway. One win and two draws... nothing spectacular but 5 points after the first 3 games is a good way to start the season. So, how's Bernier look so far and will you give him to us for the Gold Cup in July?
- Montreal kicks off their USL First Division (formerly the A-League) title defense this weekend in Puerto Rico. We hope for more 9,000+ crowds that overflow the stands, of course.

A golfer. OK, I don't see many of those around here unless by "golf" they mean "Mario Golf", which is still fine, so...

You should look in the Rom Hacking section to see if any of those games have editors available.

Welcome.

I'm not sure on the specifics, but the second and third levels got renamed in America for no real reason. So it now goes:

First Level: Major League Soccer
Second Level: USL First Division (formerly A-League)
Third Level: USL Second Division (formerly Pro Soccer League)
Fourth Level: Premier Development League

Of course, there is no promotion/relegation.

And all the Canadian teams in the USL *STILL* get the shaft when it comes time for the US Open Cup, since *WE* can't participate! BS.

drjayphd: Well, that depends on the type of draw. If the game finishes 0-0, then they will proceed to 30 minutes of extra time; if that solves nothing, then we have a penalty shootout. If it's any other draw (1-1, 2-2, 4-4, etc.) then Chelsea will advance because they scored more goals away from home than Liverpool did. That's the tiebreak.

I still have Gunbound on my computer.

I NEVER played it, mind you, but for some reason I still saw it fit to keep the game updated and that just in case my mind suddenly changed one day. :\

Randy and his brother discovered the hold left on Controller 2 bug to super jump (and become invincible if you fall down a pit and then jump out) in Mega Man 3 while just messing around. I'm pretty sure they were the ones who sent it into Nintendo Power.

And if I still *HAD* my old Nintendo Power issues still I could have checked that very one to see who it was credited to. (Someone needs to put up a torrent of as many .pdf NP's as possible, but that's an aside.) I think I found that trick through GamePro come to think of it.
