This reminds me of one of the Canadian computer commercials a year or two ago - you know, the ones where you can pay $1/day for a new PC and have everything paid off in 7 years or so. Anyways, the techno song playing in the background has a chorus saying "Do you really want a clone?" and it's a direct ripoff of "Better Off Alone". Right. Anyways... I'd want to have fun so I'd have the clone do my homework and that for me. Wouldn't give it an actual job but I'd figure out a use for him when the time came. |

At the moment, the ESRB sees it fit to give this thread a "T" rating. Any more skin and we're gonna have to push it up to "M" - and don't ask what it would take for "AO". |

Marks & Spencer is *NOT* a chocolate bar. They're a British chain of stores that used to have a rather large Canadian division - I know there were a few stores around the Montreal area and in Toronto/London/Ottawa as well. Even though they had a lot of fashions and such, they also had a food section with British imports. |

Ain't gonna happen - they'd need all 30 owners to agree to a deal like that and virtually every owner had a good laugh at the proposal. Now, bump that price up to $6b... |

What I get out of the announcement is that this is mainly for rating purposes. I can see why they'd make the move. The WWF (before they became WWE) did the exact same thing on Monday nights - they split their wrestling program into two different "shows" - Raw and Warzone. One continuous show but two different ones as far as the Nielsens went. |

I guess you could get away with two jobs... Or just one 40-hour job except you and your clone split the work so it feels like a part-time job when it really isn't. The chess thing wouldn't work if both of you were crap at it, but you'd probably just split your games. |

I'd personally flip this to General Chat because it seems like a more general "first job" type of question. *flips* The Quebec Government has a lot of work placement programs for students; they do them in conjunction with various businesses and companies. Everything from data entry to waitering to construction work. Basically the government subsidizes the companies to take on students for summer employment. Maybe there's something similar where you are? ...Of course, a small family restaurant might not be THAT bad if it's not too busy. |

And if you look at NSNick's user name color, he'd be identified as a full moderator. Meaning he can edit threads in any forum on the board. Ziff is a local moderator but he wasn't moderating the forum this original thread was in, so he couldn't do anything about it. |

There's a reason why they call it a "life" sentence. The punishment is that you have to stay in prison until your death - and barring something like committing suicide or being murdered in jail, there's not much that's going to change that. It also would depend on what the person is in jail for (if the offenses tacked together weren't punishable by the death penalty in the first place, what's the point?) and where the person was, obviously. But as far as the prison system goes, life is life and death is death. I agree with that 100%. |

The shipping costs from Canada wouldn't be AS bad, Danielle. ...Still unfair, mind you, but not as bad as ordering from the UK. |
