From what I know, yes. Cydoor's running in the background. So even if that WAS the only function it had, it's still running secretly doing this and taking up resources.

Proof that onboard video, no matter HOW hyped it is by companies, is absolute crap.

By the time we get good onboard video comparable to today's decent graphics cards... I don't want to know how advanced graphics will be.

Sofie would know.

I like regular pancakes with syrup. I *REALLY* like flavored syrup but you can't get that at too many grocery stores here.

I remember going to IHOP in the States on vacation and having their syrup.

One of the ALL-TIME great PA strips.

Well, nobody ever said that online mapping services were 100% accurate, but GEEZ... God help you if you miss just one offramp.

The fact that Kitten Yiffer was drinking something on a school night really worries me.

Ah, the youth of Sweden are growing up so fast these days.

Four people now.

When I'm in the mood, but usually it's against Hiryuu. ZSNES is very stable, but I've had little luck with other emulators.

From what I know, TRU isn't considering shutting down - rather, they want to try sell off the toy division and focus on Babies R Us. At least in the United States. Of course, the difficulty is trying to find a buyer for the toy division. The TRU here in Lasalle is in a good location and always has a few cars in the parking lot, so I don't know about the Canadian business.

Funny story; when I used to go to Plattsburgh (New York), I would always go to the KB in the mall there. Between there and EB, I was set. Anyways, a few years ago, TRU came into the mall and set up shop RIGHT ACROSS from KB.

Flash forward a few years, TRU ends up shutting down their store, Borders is in its place... and KB is still standing. Small world.

I don't even think we have Babies R Us in Canada. I believe that TRU has a section in their stores devoted to babies (a *RATHER* large section at that) so I guess the Canadian policy is to just have everything under one roof.

I did go to TRU solely for video game purposes back in the day... but that was when the NES was king. It was awesome looking back at the large counter and seeing about 300 stacks of different games lined up, from SMB3 to Final Fantasy to Ice Climber.

There'd be SEVERAL countries hiding the cure in that case, though.

Yes, it would increase the world's population but I don't think we're talking about an extra 2 billion people here. There's still plenty of other diseases, sadly, that can do you in.

Posted on 01-25-05 10:33 AM, in The NHL season hangs in the balance... Link
Well, last week's talks were viewed as good by the NHL and as a waste of time by the NHLPA. Now it's been reported that, contrary to what some might have believed, they will be having another meeting on Wednesday in Toronto. The NHL apparently has a proposal in the wings which "addresses" some of the player's concerns, but still has cost certainty. The meetings will decide whether or not the league's made enough concessions.

So... what's going to happen. Are we going to see a deal this week, one just in time to save the season, one before next season or are we screwed when it comes to hockey?

I'm HOPING that they reach a deal, although I can't see it happening this week. Even if the new proposal is intriguing, the PA still has to talk with its members, possibly negotiate a few key points... I think if the proposal has enough bite to it, they'll talk. And if they aren't talking by Monday at the latest, the season's down the tubes I fear.

Key note: None of the "big 4" sports leagues in North America has ever cancelled a season due to a work stoppage.
