I will wait to eventually purchase an iPod - until the levy's officially removed on them in Canada. (Basically since you can use them to play copyrighted music, there's an extra "tax" on them. I think the tax is around $25-50 depending on the model.)

Phelps probably knows what he can/can't say - I think he studied law at one point.

Rydain linked to a really fascinating essay/profile of him once - long read but incredibly fascinating.

I shall take Jesper's word for it then. Saves me some trouble.

(Usually I look at the last 50 posts - if they seem good, then good. If there's a ton of spam or back/forth stuff, not good.)

You'll probably find the best results come from running both Ad-Aware and Spybot, along with a good virus scanner. That pretty much gives you the best possible protection.

Jesper said they weren't so that's good enough for me.

If there's a LEGITIMATE attempt to create content, it's OK.

I'd probably like Fanta but Canada's not worthy enough to carry it.

RC Cola isn't that bad. It's the "third" cola around here but it's been around a long time.

Canada was affected too - at last count we have 150 people missing.

I don't see a single donation from Russia when looking over the list...

I thought Working Designs was affiliated with Sega at the start (and NEC as well) - I can't recall them making a SNES game. Certainly none came to America.

Hm... Surprisingly, nothing.

Let's not forget that I use *SCHOOL* washrooms so I'm actually quite stunned at the fact I've seen nothing out of the ordinary.

*ignores post from the peanut gallery*

It'll be interesting to see how much CPU power is required for both screens. I'm sure that current systems can emulate it just fine but it'll be interesting to see how the authors go around it.

I didn't know that the DS roms use a filebase. Interesting... that'll throw a few kinks into the workings.

drjayphd: Well, not if he accidentally said "don't look in the trunk". Then you KNOW they're gonna check the trunk.

The problem is that MOST people will agree to let the officers check the car because they don't want to end up in what they perceive would be a worse situation.

Posted on 01-04-05 08:42 AM, in History of MMORPGs Link
There were quite a few MMORPG's discussed in the late 90's that would be player-driven worlds.

I never saw any of them released.

I think that the core gameplay will stay intact, but there has to be MORE to do. Some games (like WoW) have a ton of stuff to do, and at least you can play through the game a few times to try out the different classes and races. That's a step in the right direction. No matter how much influence the players themselves end up having over a game, it HAS to be in-depth and replayable.

MMORPG's are unique in the sense that graphics aren't what primarily draw gamers to the online words - gameplay does. That's going to be key in a few years, because you can't just toss out the most realistic environments out there and have a hollow game underneath it all.

I think these "events" are losing their charm. Can't say they haven't been nice in providing them, but they're losing their lustre I think.

I'd certainly look into Four Swords for the single-player portion if I ever saw it for $10 or so.

Never liked the GC/GBA linking as being mandatory however - if you don't have the portable, you can't have fun it seems. :\

They might run slow if you have a SLOW system, but all of my N64 roms run just fine when I play them. The emulation standard isn't THAT low.
