This is the best idea ever. Think about it - Acmlm decides that the people of Acmlm's Board must bow down and serve him, and forces them in to slavery. A few members escape and find their way to the Mushroom Kingdom and tell Mario, who goes off to defeat the oppressive Acmlm and save everyone.

...I have to agree. Beats Kario's story that is for sure!

But instead of the worlds being Kirby and such, each world could be a forum on Acmlm's Board... or something similar. Either way, that story works very well.

Hmmm... ummm... group projects suck. They never get anywhere. Remember when sm_gamer (something like that) came up with this?

Twist in story:
Spoiler:
Acmlm is controlled by "the lamers/Ninja AE/whomever" and you don't find that out until you beat Acmlm... don't know what boss though...

BTW, curious to know what u used to draw it?, was it YY-Chr or on a piece o paper and scaned .

Sheesh... you act like it is a big deal... if I showed you this:

then you surely would lose it (note, I am not finished with this set and am not even close to even think about submitting it).
Oh, and to draw it, I used LM's editor. You know, the one that only allows you to edit one 8x8 tile at a time...

Yeah, I need some palette fixes... but I made this tileset a few months ago, and I just... ummm... went for the standard grey then. I might include more than one palette to change the mood of the level... and add a few doodads here and there...

I am with you R2H2, I HATE MARIO PARTY! The AI is bad... plus when playing with friends I always win... not fun anymore.

SSBM: Don't know why...
Kirby's Air Ride: I love the City Trial. That mode is more competition than anything...

Actually, that is all the multiplayer I have played... believe it or not... nobody at home wants to play with me... and when they do, it is on games that they actually have a chance on (Halo 2, Star Wars Episode III, DDR, other stuff like that). THEY CAN'T BEAT ME ON THE GAMECUBE!!!

I never played Assault 2 player... or anything else that I own 2 player... funny...

Wait a minute, you are ZTaimat! You were permabanned and now you come back to haunt us again? Heh, I don't think so.

Schnauzer: Like Communism, it would work in theory, but in reality it just won't cut it. We aren't anti-social, but a group project has yet to actually survive long enough for even a one level beta...

Mewquas laughed in a very evil tone. He couldn't believe that the residents here were these things. He could easily conquer this world in no time if these stupid short residents are like this.

Mewquas: "FOOL! I AM MEWQUAS, IRKEN INVADER! You can't beat me! I will plague you all with DOOM! DOOM! Doooom."

Mewquas's backpack sprouted four spider-like legs. The legs made the Irken Invader look taller and more deadly... or so he thought.

Mewquas: "SIR, offensive mode now!'
SIR: "Yes, my master!"

The SIR unit's head opened and a saw emerged from his head.

Both Mewquas and his SIR were ready for a fight.

Mewquas: "This will show the tallest that I am better than that horrible Zim."

Nad-Gob: Change your background. I can't read your text without highlighting it.

ASM is assembly, like everyone else said. You can do a bunch of stuff with ASM such as making your own custom blocks and adding in HDMA effects (BMF has a tutorial on how to add HDMA effects. Once I find the link, I will post it here.). Me, so far the only thing that I have done was to make an earthquake block, but I am progressing with my knowledge and will soon be able to change a lot more after I read a few more documents and such.

It isn't hard to learn unless you make it hard to learn.

Well, welcome yop to Acmlm's Board. Looks to me like you will actually be a good member here as long as you don't spam a lot (and considering that you made a very well descriptive and detailed first post).

Well, a fire-only hack would be nice to see. What you need to do is set it to where it starts you off with fire Mario and then do the death subroutine when Mario is hit and then give him fire power after it returns him to the overworld.

However, I doubt any of this data has been found. It wouldn't be too hard to do but finding the data would be kind of difficult.

Also, if you need some nifty documents on ASM, go to http://www.zophar.net and look at their documents they have there. Those will give you a lot on ASM and also contains some very useful tools that you will probably need to do this hack... maybe...

The thing that I think you would have to worry about though is making this hack really good. Sure, in theory it would work. But you also got to think this: after obtaining so many lives like you want, where would the challenge be? I could understand if you made a hack that which you had to kill the enemies and get the coins and once you obtain 100 coins you continue to the next level, but having a lot of enemies and the only thing it would get you would be lives and then having to complete the level the normal way... just seems really pointless...

You do have a good idea going though... seems challenging, but I am sure that you could do it. Just look over those documents and take your time.

And to post pictures:

Mewquas: "Oh, we'll see about that."

Mewquas pulled out a miniture sword, which was about his height. The lightweight blade was supersharp and could cut through a rock without any problems.

His SIR unit's arms turned to blades also, ready to counterattack when possible. The saw on its head spun wildly.

Mewquas' real legs dangled in place as his mechanical legs started to do a walking motion, transporting the Irken alien across the ground at a more astounding rate. He headed towards Shyguy and just as he was within one foot, his spider legs gathered together and pointed straight, making Mewquas higher in the air. The legs then pushed, making him jump in the air. Heading towards the ground, he held his sword and swung it at Shyguy, hoping the force will inflict more damage.

A bright light emitted from the distance. A small transport ship roamed around this desolate, dark place. The visibility would be a difficult obstacle to overcome, but the Windonian Empire's finest soldier would have to deal with it to find his prey.

The ship lowered to the ground and the side hatch opened. Barnaos jumped out and landed on the ground with a thump. His armor was scratched with previous skirmishes, but some of the bigger scars were replaced with special lights and a few lasers to cut down debris. The only thing he really needed in this enviroment was the lights. The lasers wouldn't do him any good.

He lowered his helmet and turned it on. In his view, he could see tactical data about ongoing battles or current status of his fellow soldiers. He tapped his helmet and the view went from pitch black to nighvision mode. He could now see in this dark place without any problems. As the ship lifted and manuevered away picking up other soldiers and prisoners, Barnaos checked his inventory. He had a pistol, shotgun, machine gun, grenades, and his wild card weapon, a Titanium Bolt Spreader, a deadly gun that shoots bolts of dark lightning in many directions. This weapon was merely a test subject, but Barnaos needed to see how well his dark powers would work to power up the weapon.

He started walking along, his pistol in his hand as he searched this place for any signs of life. He walked a mile when he beheld the sight of a person meditating. He disturbed this person, aiming his pistol at the stranger's head.

Barnaos: "Halt! You are now a prisoner of the Windonian Empire. Any resistace will result in immediate termination... and it won't be pretty how I will deal with you."

Well, this hack looks a whole lot better now. As with what everyone said, the background needs to either be lightened or darkened, whatever suits you. I know that is how it looks in Sonic, but it worked there because they also had a top background to go with it.

But it is really nice work. Keep this up and hopefully this will be a good hack.

Revolution. They will concentrate on fun games and not worry about graphics that much... hopefully...

The Xbox 360 would be the next system I would get (first if it gets released first... DUH!). I have seen much on that and it looks quite interesting.

The PS3 is last for me. I feel like that Sony is going to create the same exact games... over and over again... sure, it will be a system everyone wants, but so was the PSP...

...just by the screen... it sucks. No need to say anything else about it. Played it... and nothing exciting...

Now I would normally say that you need to fix up a few things in a level. This hack... ugh, the only thing you need to do is START OVER!

Look, you could easily make more enemies other than Bullet Bills that look almost like them. You could have Bazooka Bob (Koopa), Flamethrower (Dino-Torch), Grenada (Bob-omb) and other fun war things.

Plus, if you have a level that has Mario riding in a cloud, you better add obstacles. Lots and lots of obstacles. Otherwise, you have this.

Normally first levels are crap. This isn't crap... because there isn't anything to be crappy... except maybe that background color with that background palette...

Barnaos stood still, awaiting the beam to strike him with all its force.

However, the beam wasn't too powerful, as Barnaos held his hand out and sucked in the energy from the beam. His already dark brown armor became more purple and darker. Barnaos could easily absorb simple attacks like that once and then later on spread the energy along with his own dark power back at the opponent.

He threw his pistol up in the air, where it stopped at the top of its height. The pistol then aimed itself at the newly-protected fiend. Barnaos positioned his hands toward the ground, the angle of which his arms positioned were 45 degrees. Dark energy emitted from his hands and went into the ground. The energy then sprouted behind him, heading up to the pistol where the darkness grabbed hold of it. The pistol, now emerged in the darkness, began a charge. The trigger moved, and a bullet the size of a soccer ball shot out of it, the projectile coated with darkness. The darkness from Barnaos ceased, and the pistol fell. Barnaos caught it right before the bullet was about to hit. His armor returned to normal.

Barnaos: "And that is only a weak move."

I am just reading the interview on Gamespot...

...wow... this game looks good... just really good...

I like what they are doing to this game. The story seems interesting yet nothing is known about it yet. The dungeons are going to rule. And hopefully there will be some really grasping parts that I will always want to see over and over again.

But I will wait a little before I see it... I have to see it in video (no, I am not spending over two hours to download a video clip... stupid dial-up...)

Shouldn't this be nominating first, then voting? That makes more since. Doing nominations first prevents a lot of ties.

And I am only voting for the good catogories (Any "???" means I don't have a vote, but it is a good catogory.) Notice how I get rid of the negative awards.

Best SMW hacker (overall) - ???
Most inventive - Juggling Joker
Best sage advice - Kyouji Craw
Biggest contribution to SMW Hacking (this year) - Smallhacker
Best Newbie Hack (name of hack and author, please) - ???
Best Veteran Hack (Same here) - Super Mario Plus
Most agreeable SMW Hacker - ???
Least agreeable SMW Hacker - ???
Most anticipated hack / hack series - ???

I will post in others when I get more info.
