...the Lego tileset beats my crappy version any day... that looks cool! With simple palette changes, you could recreate Super Mario World in Legos, just like you showed. Neat...

If you need somebody to finish the Graveyard tileset for you, I could finish it for you. Just send it to my G-Mail account and I will try the best I can (my old computer finally crapped out so I had to pretty much start from scratch in SMW hacking. My newer computer though is faster and better but doesn't have a modem yet... so it might take a while to finish it).

You're so close, but it is $1DFC.

Ok, so a little working around with Blocktool, I found out what the problem is: I accedently had the wrong .bin file selected. I had a different test .bin file in the same folder as Blocktool (not inserted) and I was editing that instead of the... actual... file...

Now I feel pretty stupid.

But now I get the understanding of a few commands in ASM. I just need an ASM guide so I can learn some more commands (the only real things I know are LDA and STA) and am able to actually add some really nice ASM hacks.

Another question: Let's say I just want a block to let Mario go through it through the left but not the right. When the on switch is active, it makes Mario go through the right but not the left. How would I go about doing this?

So my level is gone... unless I turn on my old computer, put the level on a disk, and then put it on my new computer.

Odds of that happening: Likely, but not anytime real soon... maybe a week... if that...

smwedit: And? Could you provide information on it before you just say you are even thinking of making one?

Bowser_k: Get me an actual size pic and I will see what I can do (when I mean actual size, I mean one pixel = one pixel, not enlarged).

That is the reason I like it. The difficulty alone makes the replay value go up.

The gameplay is also original. There really aren't too many 2D beat-em-up platformers anymore, and this game makes it work good in awesome cel-shading graphics. Really cool.

Funny thing you should mention this... I was just playing around with this.

In the help file it gives the offsets for those places. Go to those places in a hex editor AND in Lunar Magic (to see the results clearer). Edit a byte in the hex editor, save in editor, reopen level in LM to see what happens.

I played around with that... yet I don't know how to deal with pointers... so that is as far as I can help you...

Actually, it's not that complicated at all. This is the easiest, non-streamlined way to do it, but I'll leave the coding up to you, cpubasic.

1. Create a new block that loads the on/off switch flag ($14AF) and branches 14 (#$0E) bytes if the flag is not zero (switch is "on"). Save under whatever filename you choose.
2. Open 1wayl.bin, copy its contents, and paste them at the end of this new file. Repeat with 1wayr.bin.

How it works: if the switch is ON, the code will branch and execute jonwil's original 1-way Block Right code. If OFF, no branch will occur, and the 1-way Block Left code will be executed instead.

...never would have come up with that... thanks a bunch, BMF.

Anyway, the only block so far that I made is an earthquake block that changes to the next tile when touched... and it causes a little earthquake! That will be great for adding a cave level and then an auto scroll part... or something...

...wait, if Lunar Magic moves the level, wouldn't you have to modify Lunar Magic to always save in the same place? Wait a minute, why not just when saving the level in Lunar Magic, save the long way and always choose that address? That could work...

Anyway, so far the only thing that I have done with these levels is move a bush up one... you really can't do much because there are no way to use ExGFX... or at least I don't think...

And yes, I plan on using the No Yoshi Sign intro...

That's pretty neat to know. I don't know about entirly removing the item box, though... I would still want to use it...

But that is cool to know... this could be used to make a hack more... difficult... unless you make Cape/Fire Mario change to Super Mario first and then just Mario... which then it would be useful.

Good work, Smallhacker.

Why would you have to do that? This seems like a completely seperate issue.

Ummm... no, it is the same issue. If you cross the goal with a shell (or something else) as super, cape, or fire Mario, a powerup would appear. Without an item box, the item would seem... very very useless...

Now if it were a coin, that would be a different story.

OOC: Actually, yes he can be affected, but this time he used a special move because he saw the signs and knew when it was going to strike. The armor doesn't protect him from the beam, though...

Sorry about the long time to reply... a little home issue...
----------

"Yeah I battle... a little... I just haven't been in a major battle yet." Katie replied to Zraku.

William, no longer with his armor upgrade, glared at Schwa. He noticed the new version of him, and pondered on a good attack to hurt him.

"Hmmm... let's see..."

He thought that a summon would work, but he never used a summon before... he had to figure out something that would call someone... or something...

He took his sword and he swirled in place, a whirlwind encircling him. The whirlwind became so thick that you couldn't see William at all.

The whirlwind ceased, and a small brown bird flew above William's head.

"You called?"

"Wha... what are you?"

"Funny you should ask. I am known as Jawbyg. I am a bird with intense power. I can control the wind and the earth to do my bidding."

"Sounds like a cliche video game summon... but it will work. Let's get ready to finish this battle."

William talked to Schwa. "Alright, this is where the battle gets intense. Don't let up!"

At this time, William would have attacked, but he would rather wait for an attack to be placed on him so he could see what this bird can do... whether to the attack or William...

Yet, an autoscroll with the ship exploding... now that would be cool. Have some pipes that shoot steam (and hurt, custom block or pirahna plants, whatever you think is best) and then have Yoshi after a few broken bridges and stuff. Then after you get Yoshi, you have to run and jump a huge gap caused by the ship's parts falling down. And if you use blocktool, you can make it to where it seems like all the air is being sucked out of the ship (the moving blocks that push Ninji) to give it a more... spacey feel.

Geez, that just gave me an idea for a level in my hack...

OH! And I can send you the code to use my custom block via Blocktool that causes an earthquake when you touch it. You will have to patch Map16plus.ips (something like that) to get it to work properly as it changes to the next block in the Map16 when touched. That could add to the "OMG! THE SHIP'S EXPLODING!" feeling...

But that is up to you...

The comics are actually pretty funny. Great use of some of the people here (although it took a little bit of time to figure out who was in #7).

I like this. I approve being in one of the comics... if you find a way to put me in one...

I like how you put in Kyouji in there. That was funny.

Hmmm... I have a factory tileset somewhere on my computer that I could upload. It has some real cool stuff such as chains and some gauges and signs... and junk...

Yeah, I could submit that after working on that some more.

Wow... that seems pretty cool. I would definitley play around with this once it gets released...

...I forget why I haven't tried the previous version before... oh, yeah... it wouldn't work on my computer...

Just looking at it is really interesting and is now catching my eye. Hopefully, there will be many CT hacks once this gets released... I might even try my hand at hacking it once this comes out...

First off, it isn't a background, it is a FG.

Second, it isn't from a screenshot or a rip. It is handrawn. From scratch. You know... NOT from a game...

OOC: Since an arena isn't set, I guess that I can make one up for you. Also, check my profile for this character.

???: "Gah, my ship is going out of control! SIR! Get this thing to land right! NOW!"
SIR: "Yes, sir."

The ship veered out of control, smoking a black smoke behind him. Within the atmosphere of this planet, the ship was a bit easier to control, but it still had some issues.

The ship started heading towards the ground at a zigzaggy motion, making weird smoke trails. The ship headed towards the ground when it landed with a crash in the woods.

The cockpit opened, and out jumped Mewquas, Irken Invader. He stepped on the ground, which was a path going through the woods.

Mewquas: "Asteroids. They are horrible. Horrible like molten spiked tees!"
SIR: "SIR, awaiting commands."
Mewquas: "Just get this ship back up and running for now... right now there aren't any si-"
The radar showed a blip in his ship.
Mewquas: "LOOK! LIFE! SIR, we have to conquer this planet. Let's go, SIR."
SIR: "Yes, right away."

They walked the path, leaving the ship behind some bushes for stealth.

In the middle of the woods, there was a clearing that Mewquas and his SIR unit came across. After looking at the radar on his wrist, he looked ahead and saw a figure.

Mewquas: "WHO ARE YOU!? WHO ARE YOU!?"

OOC: You also didn't say a character...
