Not the right color? It is the right color. I didn't touch the palette... but, that pic is now old. Kyouji is letting me use his ghosts in my hack (which they are cool). Thanks for the ghosts.

Any ideas on what I should add to a mining level? I am going to make a tileset for a cave level coming up soon and I am wondering what I should add. I will add animated Koopas that mine in the background, some conveyer belts, and the like. Any ideas of what I should add?

I was planning on doing something like that. Make the platform different somehow... maybe have the foreground behind it look like an elevator shaft and make a platform move up and down on it. It might just work.

Interesting... I am wondering how the chain chomp is going to work, though. Is it a custom sprite or something else?

The rain looks good. Keep up the good work.

You don't have to know ASM to do this. This is simple. Weasel made a document about this. Here is a link to it.

http://www.dragoneyestudios.net/doc/Convert%20them%20Codes!.txt

Just follow the instructions carefully and you will be able to do it. You just need a Game Genie code converter (name of the program is in the text). This may seem complicated at first, but you will get the hang of it.

The screens look ok.

1st: Nice Background.
2nd and 3rd: Looks good...
4th: See nothing special...
5th: An NES rip? Nice.
6th: If you have room in your graphics spot, please make some edges. I would recommend it, but since it is a rip and it looks like that in the game you ripped it from, than I won't complain. What game is it from?
7th: Ok...
8th: 0_o. What does the on and off switch do?
9th: Nice puzzle.
10th: Is it set to be like a question block? You should check that out, or the next block in the Map16. I am not sure though, as I have not used the block.

I will play through the hack and comment on it further.

Use any HEX editor. I use Transhexlation, but that is just me. There are more, like Hexposure, but it is up to you to decide which one to use. Go to Zophar and you might find some hex editors.

Not really...

As for you, Keikonium, using the GG-Conv program (the one that isn't in DOS), type in the code and then click the 64k button. Then you open up your calculator in Windows (if you have that), set it to HEX, type in the HEX number it gave you to the left in GG-Conv, then follow the instructions for the finding of the offset.

Hope that helps.

New tileset submitted. It is from Link to the Past. A background from when you first enter the Dark World.

You would have to not have vertical scrolling for it to be perfect, though.

You have to use another button... hold on.

F7 will export all the BG Map16 data to a file, and F8 will load it back in.

Look in the help file. That is what you should do first.

Wow! My set has the longest name. Link to the Past: Dark World Background. That is really long.

Anyway, I will try to do Keikonium's background. I will not guarantee, though, that I will have it done as I have to do some graphics for someone else. So I will try.

That there's a nice set =D
Also, I (FINALLY) finished another set.
*The people expect it to be Chemical Plant*
It's Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons!
*The people pass out*
It's from the 2D areas. I've tailored it to be flexible for making various castle settings =D
Once I get- *sound of mug breaking* Dad dropped a mug while I was typing this, and it broke. ;; Once I get offa me lazy bum, I'll send the set to Coby. Actually, I might send it in later today. I need to resubmit a spritesheet to MFGG since the original one they had was lost during the previous site crash.

Oracle of Ages/Seasons, huh? Well then, it might fit with my background. It just might...

And that is a nice tileset, The_Raven. It looks cool. Submit it to Coby and he will upload it to his website. Just follow the rules on the first page of this thread.

XKeeper: That looks cool.

PM Coby and then give him a link to your graphics. You could also PM him for his E-mail and he will let you send in graphics that way.

And KnucklesT15X: When will you get done with Chemical Plant? I don't really care when it gets done, but it would be cool to have.

You got them into a .bin file. It is a graphics file, right? The Map16Page.bin and Map16PageG.bin are not graphic files so don't insert them in as ExGFX.

But first for the obvious: Did you insert the ExGFX into your rom (yellow mushroom)?

Maybe he is using the tide setting for the Layer 3 smash. If that is the case, you have to add the sprite.

I don't think that normal tides would work in castles, though, due to the layer 3 smash. But you can.

1. Click Super ExGFX Bypass.
2. Check the top check box.
3. Change the level index to normal 1.
4. Add tides.

That should work.

Now that is just weird...

I would probably recommend deleting the Star Roads and replace them. That might do it.

I am really impressed! I like your graphics a whole lot. Just fix the palette and it will be much better.

Nice level idea, too.

What you can do is make it do the event, beat the boss, it does the next event, and then the next level does the same event as you set for the ghost house.

Example:

Let's say you use Event 20 for the ghost house. When you beat the Big Boo Boss, it does event 21. After that, the next level is beat. Event 20 is then passed.

This might work...

Coby, I have submitted my Girder set. Check your e-mail for it... I mean, them. It is a background and a foreground.

Clockworkz: I haven't forgotten about your cityscape tileset. I have started on it a little bit, but not much. So far it is just part of a background...

That is a nice background, The_Raven. If you have room, try adding a lake or something like that. If you want to...

Posted on 07-11-04 12:50 AM, in Confusion with Animated tiles... Link
1) Using Super Graphics Bypass, put the ExGFX of your animation you are using and put it in the last drop-down box.
2) Go to the 8x8 editor and press Control+Shift+PageDown. Go down past the sprite pages.
3) Open up the Edit Extended Animation Frames Dialog (SMB3 Block).
4) Set the Entry to whatever is open (00 if no animations have been set).
5) For where it says "Not used" set it to "Normal" if it is just a standard animation or set it according to what it is for (On/Off switch, for example).
6) Where it says Palette, change it to Single 8x8 (unless you want it to be something else).
7) Look at the tiles for your animation in the 8x8 editor. Put the numbers of the corresponding 8x8 tiles in the animation frames and make the destination a blank spot where you want the animation to be (probably FG3...).
8) Click Ok and see if it is the way you want it.

If anybody sees anything wrong with this, feel free to tell me.
