Nice tileset. I like what you have done with the glass.

I would set the foreground to be transparent to actually make it seem like glass. That would be better for it... maybe...

Lightning effect is cool. I hope you implement the day-night cycle, as that would be cool.

And the screens are cool. Good work.

1) Have 1 set of ExGFX.
2) Put the .bin files that come with the ExGFX you downloaded (which I know you are talking about the ExGFX workshop graphics).
3) Import them in your hack.
4) Have another set of ExGFX.
5) Overwrite the .bin files that came with the first ExGFX with the new ones.
6) Choose a new page and import.

Hope this answers your question. I am not sure what the .bin files are called (little problem with my computer... had to format yesterday), but they are like Map16pg.bin and Map16pgG.bin.

I just started work on it yesterday and it's pretty much finished already. You can see that I have yet to rip the biting plants, but everything else is pretty much done. You will be able to easily recreate every SML3 level that uses this tileset when it is released.

Wow. That is nice. Really good. Great job, JJ.

No, I'd imagine you can have much, much more. In Lunar Magic, bypass the music setting and look at the list you can have; It's huge, and quite a few are blank. I don't have it with me, but if I recall correctly, the vast majority of them are, in fact.

Looking at the list, it goes down to FE when the list starts with 00 (No Music). That would mean we could have a total of... 254 songs... if my math is correct.

Well... it could be done with ASM, but I am not sure. If a Koopa stays in its shell when you hit a turn block or flip it with the cape, then it should be possible to make the Koopa do that instead of being shot out of the shell when you hit it from above.

I have no knowledge of ASM, but could it be possible to just make the code for hitting a Koopa on top just route to when a shell comes out of a turn block (the turn blocks with the shell in it always have a Koopa inside of it... note the eyes)?

Did you extract the graphics? If you didn't, then of course you are not going to find any .bin files.

Click the Red and Blue mushrooms and then go to the folder with your hack in it. You should now see some new folders. Graphics has the standard graphics in it and ExGraphics... well... ExGFX...

Then open the .bin files in YY-CHR and change the setting from Genesis to SNES. Then you can start editing.

About the Block Inserter...

Did you open the rom in Block Inserter? If not, do that. Sure you will see the blocks that you have inserted in your hack, but the rom isn't opened.

This could work. I tried to do something similar before with my Mario's Fun Levels hack. It didn't turn out the way I expected it to. I only got 1 level and that was from RapTop (and it is in the hack, just open it in LM and you can see it).

You just would have to have a whole bunch of people submitting levels, or you won't be getting any.

And the difficulty thing really bothers me. One level is super easy and then I need five hundred savestates to beat the next and then it is a whole lot easier for the next level.

One more thing: Secret Exits. How would those work?

The secret exits would not work because the hacker who does the overworld wants it a certain way, but the level submitters don't know what levels are secret exits and what are just normal exits. Let me show you an example.

We have a basic overworld. You start out at Yoshi's House. You can only go left. After that level, there is a secret exit level (red dot on map). The first level is 105 and the second is 106. The people who submit the levels will think that both of them are just normal exits, when actually there is one normal and one secret exit level. This will cause confusion and disastor.

Unless the author completed the overworld and showed the entire overworld filled out, there would be no way this could work.

skateboarder11: I forgot about your levels... sorry... I will find a place in my new hack somewhere for them... maybe...

I downloaded it along with a whole bunch of other tilesets... mainly because I lost the tilesets when I formatted my computer... again... so I have to catch up.

I might submit a new foreground... maybe a mining tileset with a bonus mining Koopas sprite set. Depends if I feel like it.

Making your own music would be better... but people like to rip than be creative. I already can see it now... Zelda music in a SMW hack or maybe Megaman X music...

Anyway, hope the editor will be released soon. I want to change some of the music to be different, such as the castle music. To me, the castle music sounds too much like the Ghost House music... but that is just me. Others might like it. I want to change it to be more... castle-like....

I am guest 4300. Almost at 5000.

And skateboarder11's background is really popular. Already past 100 downloads.

Looking nice, JJ. I like the theme of it. I could probably draw a fridge on the overworld and that could fit in my hack somehow.

Anyway, I am working on a rip of a game. Megaman X3 rip. Right now it is almost complete. I still have to add slopes, though. Here is what I got.

There is still some work I have to do, such as fix the hand rails and add slopes, but the palette is perfect... at least the foreground. Ignore the background, as I am also trying to rip a background from Donkey Kong Country for somebody.

Still don't know whether or not to submit them. I might just keep the graphics for myself.

These are just a few screens that I have to show.

A new title screen movement and the words "Basic Land" have palette animation.

Flamethrower Fields. I changed the Dino Torches to be flamethrowers. I am also planning to add Koopas (animated) in the background with remote controls to show that the flamethrowers are RC like it says at the beginning of the level.

Nothing much here, except a few ghost changes.

Comments or suggestions?

Which ghost? Two of them have been edited. One is the Eerie (far left, blue) and the other is part of the ghost circle.

For the first screenshot... I will remove the copyright...

Second and third... I might either brighten the background or darken the foreground. The background is brighter, though, so I might darken the fg.

As for the ghosts... I am still in the process of editing them all. All of them will be edited except the Big Boo.
