| I have to agree with Atma on one thing: NO RIPPING FROM SMAS!!! SMAS was just the classic games with graphic changes, nothing more. I think the graphics are now boring in my opinion (and I think it is the reason knuck hates the ExGFX Workshop). Use handmade graphics. Sure you may suck at the drawing, but it gives the hack a more creative feel. Plus you can make whatever you want with the graphics when you make them. Use some ExGFX, but still use the normal graphics. you can make more creative levels sometimes with the original graphics. |

| knuck: You are right. People are going to use music from other games because they think that the music is so much better than SMW. Well, if that music is in a hack, I will turn down the sound (or better yet, disable the sound channels in ZSNES). Sounds like this editor will be really cool. I would like to play around with this right now. I just want some new boss music. Also make a new title screen song. I have to find an SPC player, though, to hear the music. |

| No. I wasn't saying I would hate the music, some of the music wouldn't fit into the really good platformer music (Link to the Past music wouldn't really work well). I personally like the SMRPG music. I think that music could fit into SMW. And thanks for the link. |

| I found this in the Tek Hack Archives, and it is somewhat new. It is an HTML document. This teaches you most of the stuff in overworld editing, including the Chelsea and Chibi Moon codes. There are even some pictures to help. This was made by LordLazer. http://tekhacks.net/bored/thread.php?id=7360 It is certainly better than the .rtf overworld editor. |

| Level design = Good Graphics = BAD That is what skateboarder11 said about my hack. I know my graphics aren't the best, but at least they are almost all handmade (except 2 things: KATW's sky tileset and the mountain background, ripped from Megaman X). The sprites I made myself. My favorite is the spike thing (mini user pic). Handmade graphics can suck, but they are original and gives the hack more of a "This is good" feel. Any graphics handmade or ripped (custom palettes for the rips would be better) by yourself are best. If you suck at drawing, so what? Your graphics are unique and make the hack different from all the other hacks. As for rips, don't use rips for sprites. If you want to have different sprites, make some of your own. And don't be limited by a certain sprite header (such as Pokey sprite set). You can combine a lot of sprites together. Try using a Ninji, Pokey, Spike Top, and Thwimp in the same level. Of course there are lots of possibilities. Back on topic... Use handmade ExGFX or rip from games other than SMAS and YI. Use the original graphics as well so you don't have to worry about the Map16 every level. It is okay to use the ExGFX workshop for when you have no idea what to do for the next level, but not every level. If you use the graphics there, use them sparingly or at most five times a hack, maybe less. |

| You are using the two pyramid ExGFX? Well, you must mean the background and foreground in one level. Well, you can't really put them in the same page. You have to use one page for the foreground (3-F) and another page for the background (10-1F). There is no way you can put both of them on the same page. And besides, if you want to use some other ExGFX, set the empty Map16 blocks with the other blocks to make it more compact. I did that with KATW's sky FG. I am using my own graphics but putting it on the same page as his graphics. I hope that is what you mean. Otherwise, tell us what you mean exactly... but I think that is what you are talking about. |
