""pwn": A typo-deliberate version of own, a slang term that means to dominate. This could also be spelled "0\/\/n3d" or "pwn3d," among other variations. Online video game bullies or "griefers" often use this term."

I've got to sit down. And perhaps continue laughing later on. I'm like Prak now.

So using pwn means that you could do some illegal activity?

...althought real hackers don't use leet speak that much eh? I maybe have used pwned a few times. But the image of a paw always come up in the mind when someone say that so...

I always used leetspeak when I wanted to be silly, so... yeah.

Althought if you use it everyday... then it's just bad. And it's not that common, AOL speak is much more common.

They missed the fact that $ is more commonly used to depict money-hungry organisations or individuals. Though that may have been intential on Micro$oft's part.

In other news, Microsoft today tried to include a new (MSN-sponsored) olympic sport: Conclusion Jumping.

Seriously. It's like thinking that because people use the word "crack", they're pot-addicted criminals.

That was worth a good laugh, now to just bombard them with corrections with their "Did you find this helpful?"

I think I hit submit... 10 times?

Jesper -- Well, it'll certainly assist alarmist parents in jumping to conclusions. Parents'll see the word "pwn" and assume their child is being a bully....or "h4x" and think their kid is a hacker.... ;;

Yay.

I sometime use own or pwn, mostly with MBD, and usually related to something funny or very awesome that it deserves that word used on it. I also love the word teh, it's good in combination with teh pwn, and it looks good on a shirt. I want one that just says teh.

This gave me a good laugh, becuse of the Conclusion Jumping. So I didn't know that pwn could lead to illegal activity...

And please, do something about the parents letting their kids speak "40\_ 2P34K". Please?

If I use "leet", I like to have consistancy and rules to it. Grammer is still followed. If you take an unorganised elitist noob and shove some organised hard-leet in his face, they dont know how to handle it and get really scared. It looks something like this:

|-|3|_|_0! 1 4/\/\ |_|51/\/6 |-|4|2|)-|_337!

It is only used in extreme situations like blowing the brains of elitist noobs.

"It's important to remember that the leetspeek community encourages new forms and awards individual creativity, resulting in a dynamic written language that eludes conformity or consistency."

Individual creativity? I think not...

pwn is not necessarily 1337. I use pwn, but thing 1337 sucks, for example. And I'm with Tarale when she says no 1337 is good 1337.

Sometimes sacrifices must be made in order to confuse the noobs.

Or we could instead point out the fact you misspelled "grammar," and a few other, less ironic words.
