Anyone else having this problem with iTunes (on a PC, mind ye)?

* Pop a CD in.
* Starts scanning tracks, gets track names.
* Does not find them...
* Because the second-to-last track is impossibly long (think 15 hours).

Ran CD diagnostics and... well, here's what I get.

E: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1210A, Rev 1.07
Audio CD in drive.
Found 35 songs on CD, playing time 53:35 on Audio CD.
Track 1, start time 00:02:00
Track 2, start time 01:39:02
Track 3, start time 02:36:57
Track 4, start time 04:01:20
Track 5, start time 06:22:32
Track 6, start time 07:10:42
Track 7, start time 09:45:10
Track 8, start time 10:37:20
Track 9, start time 12:23:25
Track 10, start time 13:15:72
Track 11, start time 15:43:32
Track 12, start time 18:21:02
Track 13, start time 20:44:00
Track 14, start time 22:33:70
Track 15, start time 24:26:54
Track 16, start time 26:30:00
Track 17, start time 27:40:40
Track 18, start time 30:40:70
Track 19, start time 31:26:65
Track 20, start time 33:57:65
Track 21, start time 35:44:40
Track 22, start time 36:35:37
Track 23, start time 37:35:05
Track 24, start time 39:39:17
Track 25, start time 40:30:25
Track 26, start time 41:02:67
Track 27, start time 42:16:30
Track 28, start time 42:55:05
Track 29, start time 43:43:47
Track 30, start time 44:37:34
Track 31, start time 46:24:30
Track 32, start time 48:03:32
Track 33, start time 49:38:02
Track 34, start time 51:18:30
Track 35, start time 51:00:00

Notice down at the bottom? Track 35 physically can't start before track 34. I sent Apple this... then might've put in the wrong email address (got AIM screen name and email addy confused). Is this fixable?

odd.... Do you want track 35? If not, you can use CDex to rip tracks 1-34 (or 33, if the overlap causes problems)...

It might be some sort of daft DRM protection, too - if this was a "store bought" CD, that is. Is it a CD-R, or, if it's indeed a "store" CD, what CD is it in the first place?

FreeDOS: I have an iPod. Check and mate. (Yes, I'm sure there's other programs to get music on it, but I'm getting lazy in my old age.)

Jesper: This particular CD's on a small label (these are all store-bought CD's)... it's... uhm, this one: Show & Tell: A Stormy Rememberance of TV Theme Songs. (Todd Bridges plays on a cover of the theme for Diff'rent Strokes. No, really.) But it's happened on other albums, even from major labels. Even before DRM was but a twinkle in the RIAA's eye (this album came out in 1997).

Okay - the info I want, I guess, is do these CDs all have scratches or something? If that's not the case, can you rip them to mp3 with other programs? You can just drag and drop them into iTunes if that's the case. And there's a feedback form accessible via the Help menu if you haven't sent a bug report about this yet - I know I would, if I wanted to get it fixed.

Scratches don't seem to have any effect. However, although I haven't tried ripping in other programs, I'd suspect they wouldn't have problems. I sent them a bug report, but haven't heard anything back, either.

If it doesn't rip in other programs then it's just a crazy (or faulty) CD. Simple as that.
