I never noticed that either, until you mentioned it, of course It's sort of odd, considering that although that forum is leading in threads posted, the Craziness Domain is beating it in the number of replies I'd probably attribute that to the fact that there's got to be quite a few threads in there that are basically just 'How do you use ASM / modify the title screen / use new graphics]?' sorts of things

Whatever the cause though, I wouldn't have expected that forum to be leading in that category. It's not very interesting or anything to me, but it's still a funny thing to notice

it's probably because most SMW hackers have a very limited amount of brain power and therefore are unable to problem solve on their own. They must resort to making a thread about whichever feature in Lunar Magic their tiny minds cannot seem to understand.

That IS weird...I would have thought it would be either Craziness or General...but no, a forum about hacking ONE SPECIFIC GAME (not even a whole series, just one game) has more threads.

Not everyone in the SMW hacking forum is stupid. The thing is, people don't really read the manual. Well, most don't anyway.

Keep in mind that there is alot of question threads and such, and sometimes even severeal threads made by the same author in a row.

And well, Acmlm board have gotten many of it's members through the SMW hacking board.

SMW Hacking:

60% of threads are things answered in one of the 9 stickies;
20% are demo releases
10% are problems with the editor not answered in the stickies but in the help file
5% are true requests for help not covered in the helpfile/stickies
4% are just spam
1% are full hack releases

We get a lot of members from there but not all of them, sadly, dare to venture outside of those walls.

Xk pretty much has it bang-on, but it is the official LM board more or less.

Not General or CD forums? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

Those are like the only ones I click on.

I was introduced to here through a link on Golden Yoshi 2000's site, which wouldn't have been made if not for LM, so yeah.

Well, ROM Hacking is the point of this board... so it makes sense. But being about Super Mario World specifically, I can't pinpoint the answer, but here's a few theories I devise right here right now:

1. Super Mario World is an awesome game that came with every SuperNES for a while. Many, many people are familar with it. Also, makes it easy to illegally obtain a ROM ()
2. LunarMagic is one of the only complete ROM hacking programs.
3. Many nice hacks have been done, and it attracts people to make their own.
4. Nice place to post spam. (Trash'd though)

Wonder how many people come through our link on Wikipedia. I'm sure a couple.

Any SMB game is easy to acquire a rom of, but SMW is the most advanced out of all the 8/16-bit ones, so... things could be done.
