Perhaps you (and anyone who replies after this) could add why you like these series, because as is, this is just a list thread.

There's not much that I watch on TV, but the ones that I do....

Simpsons: Classic and I've been watching since I was a kid, so why stop there?

Family Guy: Like Simpsons, but with more adult humor and maybe better characters as well? Hmmm.....

Stargate SG-1: We have all the season that are out on DVD. Much better than the actual movie, too. Great storyline, great concept, the actors work wonderful together and add their own touch to the characters that they play.

Stargate Atlantis: See above. But they are in their first season, but I like what I see thus far.

Farscape: Took me a bit to get into it, because the storyline and the characters' stories are so deep. Too bad they killed it way too so to make more room for Stargate.

American Idol: The only reality show that I actually watch. What can I say, I like music, and I like to see how everyone grows throughout the show.

South Park: See Family Guy. I've grown so much over the years and tend to get funnier each year.

I also tend to watch sometimes Drawn Together, Futurama, Arrested Development, Crank Yankers, and there's also a bunch of animes that I enjoy.

Stargate SG1: it's gone for such a long time, and it's so great. <3

Lost: New, awesome, mysterious, great plot, hot characters.

Simpsons: classic.

Family Guy: can't wait for the new season, seen every episode so far.

Shows I think kick ass:

Simpsons/SouthPark: Animated goodness. Both dare to be funny with certain things. What that means? I have no clue.

Seinfeld: The show about nothing. I miss Seinfeld. Thank God for TBS and it's purchase of every sitcom of the 90's.

Lost: A new show, but exciting. It took over and dethroned 'Smallville' and my show to watch on Weds.

Shows I like:

Law & Order SVU: Each episode reminds me of a drama movie. Which are most likely pretty kick ass.

Friends: I lived it until Rachael and Joey were no more, then it simply was average watching for me.

Hercules/Xena/The A-Team/Macgyver/Wings: I lumped them together because at the time they were cool but now that I look back, I ask myself "Why did I watch that?"

I don't watch all that much, but....

I do watch the Simpsons. In fact, it's the only "staple" of my television diet.

When I can, I'll watch Malcolm in the Middle, and also CSI.

Other than that, I generally watch very little TV.

I like all the afformentioned classics, but someone has cruelly neglected to mention:

24
24 is so great because Jack Bauer can kick your ass Other than that, it's cleverly written if not rather painfully nailed to it's schedule. You can tell the writers have lots of trouble fitting things together and often the seperate threads of the storyline seem very familiar, even in the first series.
I'm currently watching the second series on DVD. I've never seen it on TV and I've been watching the boxsets every night before bed Once I'm finished with this one, I'll be moving onto season three and then I'll have to wait until season four is realeased

Series that I like (still on-air)

Everybody Loves Raymond: Very funny show about an Italian family dealing with a whole bunch of ridiculous filial problems. Too bad it's going off the air this year.

King of Queens: Funny show about a fat man married to a beautiful lady (although she is catching up with him) where the wife's father lives in the basement of their house.

Judge Judy: I watch this every day. She is kind of a bitch, but I think she's fair. Always has a smart remark and puts true idiots in their place.

Strange Love: Brigitte Nielsen and Flava Flav, nothing better than this crazy duo. It's very funny watching Flava Flav in Milan, trying to get by without speaking a word of Italian, and everyone around looks at him like he's from another planet. Great show.

Series that I like (no longer on-air)

Kenan & Kel: This is one of my favorite shows of all time. The whole show was basically about two best friends who are always getting themselves in outrageous predicaments, such as accidentally becoming vice president of a large corporation, shredding president Clinton's photograph with Elvis, stealing a monkey from the zoo, or babysitting Kenan's dad's pet bird which ends up dying. In their attempts to amend the situations, Kenan and Kel usually end up getting into more trouble to begin with, and eventually end up getting caught by their parents, boss, teachers, etc. Kick-ass show.

Full House: Awesome cheesy television show where the kids get away with murder, and each show ends with dramatic music with Danny/Joey/Jesse talking to one of the kids about how what they did was wrong.

Secret World of Alex Mack: One of the best shows on Nickelodeon. A girl acquires the ability to morph into a puddle of water, zap electricity from her fingers, and teleport objects after being shrouded in chemicals after a truck accident. Probably the only show on Nickelodeon that had a good series finale, as everyone discovers Alex's secret powers, and the authorities in the chemical plant try to blow up Alex, her parents, and best friend Ray. In the end, we find out that the truck driver responsible for the chemical spill knew the identity of the victim all along, and never said a word in order to protect Alex. That finale kicked ass.

Family Guy: Must I explain myself

Seinfeld: see above explanation...

CSI: since it first came out I've been hooked, Grissom is a stud and the actress the plays Cathryn is from where I live.

Numb3rs: first couple of shows were pretty cool... we'll have to see.

Simpsons: not as much as I used to, but I still watch it occasionally.

Nothing is really good on Nickelodeon anymore, they took lot's of my favorites off (Invader Zim, Rocko, Doug (before Disney stole it), and Angry Beavers.

That would probably be about it.

Lost: I like the exciting plot, I like the characters, I like the actors. On overall, this show is pretty great.

Big Brother 2005: COME ON. It's sort of Norway vs. Sweden, and we've been kicking their butt all along.
Yes, it's Norwegian and Swedish contestants in the same house, and once a week they're having country matches. The loser has to nominate people for us to vote out of the house. There's been 3 such matches, and the Norwegians won them all. Makes me feel kind of bad for the Swedes, though.

I also used to watch CSI and Smallville before, but I kinda haven't been doing that lately.

I sometimes enjoy shows like Sealab, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Upright Citizens Brigade for complete randomness. When bored, I turn to local channels and look at Cops or Discovery for Mythbusters and American Chopper.

Oh, wow. I'm surpised about so many people saying Stargate SG1. Most people I know don't really like it all. I love it though. It's just about the only show I really watch regularly. I hate missing episodes, though. I plan to buy the DVDs when either I get more money or they come down in price.

So far, I haven't had much chance to see any of Stargate: Atlantis. It doesn't come on TV here, and the episodes broadcast on WebTV are a little too far in for me to catch up with.

I'm admittedly a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which some people see as a dreadful sin of cheesiness, etc., but I don't really care. The series was quite awesome, even if it was taking some weird turns near the end. I haven't actually seen very much of the last season, but I also hope to do the DVD thing with this series so I can sort all that out. I never really got into Angel, but that's mostly because I never knew what was going on...

Reality shows disgust and bore me.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Invader Zim are hillarious.

And OMFG Alex Mack ruled! I have one of the books. Does that still come on?

This year contains the most first run television I have ever watched.

On Monday and Thursday, I watch WWE wrestling (Raw and Smackdown). It is the only "sports-like" item that does not tend to bore me (though I occasionally watch the Colts).

On Tuesday, I watch Veronica Mars. I liken it to a cross between Beverly Hills 90210 and NYPD Blue. Its quite an entertaining hour.

On Wednesday, I watch Lost and Alias. Lost is quite confusing, but it has sucked me in with its complexity. Alias is a spy show with Jennifer Garner.

On Friday, I retire to geek heaven with four straight hours of SciFi. Enterprise, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, and Stargate SG1. This season of Enterprise has been some of the best Trek written since DS9 went off the air in 1999. The Stargates are decent enough (though SG1 is getting long in the tooth). Battlestar Galactica is the best damn show on television right now, period. Incredible writing, good actors, impressive production values.

All totaled, eleven hours of television a week. In some past years, that number has been as low as three.

There are a number of shows that no longer air in first run that I absolutely adore, but it would take quite some time to list them all.

Jay Leno and Conan O brien - I always watch the opening monologues. Not only does it keep me up to date on the news its funny as hell. I don't watch the rest of Jay lenos show cause he isn't quite so entertaining beyond the monologue. Conan, however, keeps you laughing throughout the entire show.

Americans Funniest Home Videos - I only like the new shows with Tom Virgeron as host. Bob sagat was WAY too cheesey. The 2 hosts that came on after him had a somewhat better format for showing the clips. Rather than making impresions of the people in the clips they merely made funny comments. But I just wasn't into the look of the set, plus I wasn't too crazy for the 2 hosts. Tom virgeron is the man tho. Funny, pretty cool overall. And the new set gots a much more contemporary look.

Worlds Wildest Police Videos - I love the quit cuts of all the videos. It makes the show move much quicker than cops does. I remember watching it when it was still making new shows. I made a evening of it. Buying drinks, relaxing and putting aside everything to see it.

Popeye - I watch these cause the fights are pretty damn cool. It's very matrixy in the exaggeration of each characters strength.

Spider-man - I guess the movies gave me a new love for the series. I love watching it and paralleling scenes of the cartoon with the movie. Green goblin on the tv show is pretty goofy compared to william dafoe. I think William is the definitve Green goblin. That dude is evil.

Keeping up apperances - A british comedy. I watched it some time ago. It's pretty funny comedy. It only made 40 or so episodes tho.

I got a nubmer of other shows I like to watch but not really wanting to list all of them. The ones above are my favorites tho.

It's mainly sci-fi that I watch, heh:

Stargate SG-1: About the only sci-fi programme that is actually funny. The two-parter at the end of season 8 was a classic.

Stargate Atlantis: Never thought I'd like this series (usually spinoffs suck ass), but it's pretty good. Has a great cliffhanger at the end of the first season (although it's bound to be resolved in a really cheap way)

Phoenix Nights: Great british comedy series about a northern club.

The Office: Not the apparently shitty american version, but the british original. So cringe-worthy, it's good.

Red Dwarf: Legendary sci-fi comedy series.

The new Doctor Who series looks like it's gonna be pretty good also.
