How about a friend who has hosting and will give some space?

Seriously, that's a lot of demands.. no ads, hahaha. You may as well just pay for hosting, it's not that expensive.

There should be a thread that lists all reliable free hosting options so these threads can stop.

You want all that for free?

I think you'd be very lucky to find that for free nowadays. Once upon a time I remember being able to find things like that, but now.... not sure.

You are really best to pay for hosting.

My experience is that free hosts that support PHP love to delete sites randomly. If you want PHP on a free host, be prepared to switch hosts repeatedly.

The closest to those requirements that I can think of is Tripod, but if you're looking for someplace to host an AcmlmBoard, it won't cut it. (It's OK for blog systems but not for most message boards - certain functions aren't supported.)

Then pay for hosting

You are going to find it extremely difficult to host a PHP/MySQL message board if you are not prepared to invest.

Maybe you'll have to wait The only reason I can think of that you're not allowed to get a server is because you haven't got a job and means to pay for a server.
I was about 18 when I got my first server, I had to wait for that time to come.

Until you're allowed, you'll have to put up with the awful free hosting or ask someone nicely.

I found that the best way to find a free host is through sites that allow you to search a directory of hosts. For example, www.free-webhosts.com can give some good results some times.

I tried searching for hosts with atleast 50mb, PHP and no ads and it found 30 hosts. I'm sure there must atleast be one of those that can be useful.

Yeah, I was going to suggest using a webhost search engine as well.

One word of advice - don't go for "unlimited space" providers. Odds are they'll end up nailing you once you use enough space/bandwidth. Read the fine print carefully.

If anything, you could choose a small, reliable host to start with and then look into moving up.

I signed up for an account on Funpic, and haven't noticed anything that doesn't work, seem to be up most the time too... nothing I'm gonna use permanently but definately not that bad of a service...

Yup, it's a very good host with 99.9% uptime and a lot of bandwith, I use it for my board and I can't tell anything bad about it, except that it went down one time.
Otherwise I recommend you guys to use it.
