Is it possible to convert a FAT32 Hard Drive to NTFS without losing all data on the drive? I like to change from FAT32 to NTFS, my operating system is Windows XP PRO, how can I do that? Without the lost of my programs? (If there is a way of course). EDIT: I found a way, Mod's or Admin's, please close this... (edited by Chris on 02-13-05 07:51 PM) |

Here how to do it. Althought, it would be better to have it from NTFS from start. But anyway... To convert a FAT partition to NTFS, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK. 2. At the command prompt, type CONVERT driveletter: /FS:NTFS. 3. Convert.exe attempts to convert the partition to NTFS. Just read through that site just to be safe, but I never heard about it going wrong. Backup any important data just to be safe thought. |
